Chapter 29

“I don’t want to just pick up where I left off.”

“What do you want to do?” Drew asked.

“I don’t know,” Alec confessed. He settled with his head on Drew’s shoulder again and entwined their fingers together. Drew rested his mouth against Alec’s hair and inhaled, savoring the vaguely spicy scent of his shampoo. He woke up to that scent every single morning, and he wasn’t anywhere near tired of it. “I mean, we barely know him. And from what I do know of him, he doesn’t strike me as a guy looking for, well, anything in particular. And I’mnot looking for anything. I don’t think we could just be friends. I don’t know if it’d be fair to anybody to call him just to finish what we started.”

“I think you’re making this more difficult than it is.”

“No, it’s more difficult now because we’re married. If we were just seeing each other, sure I’d call Nick. But…”

“Are you worried about me?” Drew asked softly. “You know, I’m the one who got you into this mess, right?”
