The Gate and the Spirit part 3: Chapter 81

Holy Items.

A typical structure in the novels written as a way to kill off Demons and all other Dark Attributes. Here in the novel called "The Mystic Royal Life." it was written in the same way where chosen characters were gifted by a church of specific religion and is granted power to fight off the Dark King and it's minions.

One of the holy weapons known in the novel was the White Sword that Arthur Rhodenfield carries with him all the time. It was named 'The White Scale', given to him by his foster father at a young age during his time training in a forest beyond the Kastelyst kingdom.

Its ability to slice down evil was far beyond that of what could be handled by a simple child, but as he trained, he was able to accustom himself with the sword.

White-scale was only one of the many holy items crafted and blessed by the Gods and Kings of this World.

To simply make one was something that not even top-notch blacksmiths like Evor could do. Although people like Evor was capable of creating weapons that were comparable to that of the Holy Items, it was simply impossible to create a holy weapon with their authority. It simply needed a Kings authority or a God's authority to make such an art of an item.

And now, the spirit that stood in front of Hamil was asking him to make one like it was no big deal.

But it was…

"Are you serious?" asked Hamil, but it was pointless asking again with the spirit, as it only ends with her saying the same thing again. It was like a broken record player.

"I am." said the spirit as she showed a sly smile over Hamil. He could not ignore the gaze she gave unto him…it was unsettling.

"... a Holy Item is beyond me." said Hamil as he was certain of his current power to use in this world. It was not good enough to be used on things of such caliber.

"No it is not." The Spirit said this as she looks to him with trust and confidence.

"If a person like you is able to get pass through the fog through sheer will and force, then I can proudly say that you have what it takes to make one. All you need to do is simply follow the instructions." said the Spirit.

"Instructions?" asked Hamil.

"...you have what any King and God have…the skill to create all matter of form, Genesis." said the spirit.

"!!" Hamil was shocked to hear the skill come out of the spirits words, as it felt like a sin just hearing from someone without authority. His first question to pop out was 'How?'. how was this spirit able to know of his ability.

"...Don't be too surprised by this, I'm simply a spirit that knows a little too much than what others could." said the spirit.

Hamil looks to the spirit with doubt, as he knows nothing about the spirit to decide whether or not he should follow its request or decline it. And as an additional precaution, Gord told him not to use the Genesis skill because he didn't know the rules behind such a powerful gift.

"I was told that I shouldn't use this skill for now…so maybe there's nothing I can do right now." said Hamil, reminding himself of what Gord told him not to do yet.

"...hmm, there are rules that needs to followed, that much is necessary. But, as long as you have someone like me who knows a little too much about these things, then I'm pretty confident that no trouble will come our way." said the Spirit.

"..." Hamil looks to the spirit with an uncertain gaze. He tried to see if there were bad intentions towards the Spirit's request, but looking at her personality and attitude, Hamil was still uncertain of what to think of her.

"...Holy Items are but simple Items to people like you and the Gods. No other being can make such a rare item without your authority…So as a newly formed king who has not experienced the prospect of creation, this will be the first step in demonstrating your authority solely through this action."

"...My authority." Hamil pondered on his authority as a Ruler, by far he has not made a contribution to the name…he has not made actions that seemed to describe what a Ruler should be. So as he heard the words of the spirit, he was enticed to know that he could actually prove by making such an item, it flourish his name as a Ruler.

"I will guide you to making such an item, so trust me in return, My king." said the spirit as she lays her hand unto his shoulders.

"...." Hamil looks to the spirit with firm gaze and before anything could start, he had to ask for its reason.

"Before we do, why do you need the item in the first place?" asked Hamil.

"Hmm, I simply wanted to play with you, that's all." said the spirit with her creeping smile.

"...that's not enough. Holy items are made and used for fighting off the evil of the world. You are a spirit, simply being in touch with the Holy Item will not only harm you but it will ultimately erase you." said Hamil as he stared at the spirit, expecting that its reaction would act as his key for his judgement.

If the spirit were to act volatile towards him, it simply would mean that the spirit had bad intentions. But if it remained gladdened and relished, then this ghost simply wanted nothing but to make one for no reason.

"...I'm not evil my king, I'm simply a caged spirit that tends to the flowers."

The Spirit only looks to Hamil with a blank expression, no sense of a creeping smile or a feared or hesitant churn of words were made. It was simply blank and empty. No doubt that the spirit was telling the truth.

"...then why make a Holy item?"

"...I just want to see the proof of goodness to one miracle of a creation." said the spirit with a sincere smile on her face.

"..."

"If you don't want to make one, then I suggest you leave my king." said the spirit as she raises her hand that pointed back to where Hamil started.

"..." Hamil looks to the spirit and proceeds to look towards the fields of flowers. The beauty of such a field was immeasurable compared to what he read on the book.

It was uncertain what Hamil was thinking of at the moment, but the second he turned back to face the spirit, he smiled and agreed to make the Holy item.

"Fine, but I'm not to blame for what happens next." said Hamil.

"Thank you my king." said the Spirit as she bowed in front of him, showing her gratitude for accepting the request.

The Spirit went and smiled ever more satisfied by his answer. And as such, she went proceeded with the ritual.

"What do you want me to make?" asked Hamil.

"...What I want is to make my dream come true."

"...your dream?" Hamil asked.

"I want you to make me a seed…one that holds the prospects of life…one that protects…that blesses…a Holy seed that could protect all life."

"!!" Hearing her request, Hamil was bewildered by the definition of her request.

"Use your authority my king…"

"With your will, your order, your spirit, command life as we know it."

"...command life." Hamil spoke out the words that caught his attention.

"Bring your authority into action…as a king."

".…"

"As a Ruler…"

Soon, Hamil closed his eyes as he began to focus on using his skill Genesis.

'...Genesis'

Thinking of the skill, he began to focus what was needed for it to activate. But since it was his first time using such a skill, he needed to know the process of using it.

"Spirit...what do I need to do to use genesis?" asked Hamil, while focusing with all he has in the process.

"Creation is something as abstract as imagination… one simply needs the power to fully think of its image down to the cleanest detail…" said the Spirit.

'hmm, a seed…one that protects…one that blesses…one that gives life…a holy seed beyond the simple confines of a mortal…one that fends off evil…one that I created by my will…'

"...If the image of the needed material is in shape in your mind, the next process is using your energy to willfully mend the imagination into reality."

"...how do I do that?" ask Hamil.

"A strong will…one that surpasses the mortal's view of will" said the spirit.

"...A strong will."

"Focus my king! The image of the seed is beyond the likes of any simple existing creation…it's holy…it's Godlike." said the spirit as she notices Hamil beginning to start on the process.

As he began to willfully think of the formation of the holy seed in his mind, something suddenly interrupts his focus.

A symbol of unknown origin suddenly pops inside his mind and it intruded against the creation of his will.

"..W-what is this!?" asked Hamil as he began to worry over the process.

"...the rules are acting to watch over the process…that symbol is watching for any mistakes that come the creation." said the spirit in a rushed manner.

"Be careful my king, it is one of the many things that people of your level should never contradict." said the spirit in a worried tone.

The symbol was floating in his mind, watching over each and every thought that came through the process. And soon it suddenly reacted to something inside Hamil's mind.

"...!!" the symbol reacted quite harshly and it punished Hamil. It glowed into a dark red feature and attacked the very thought of Hamil's mind. It fired an irregular form of attack, causing Hamil to scream in unbearable pain.

"AAAAAAHhHHHHHHH!!!!" he fell to the floor like shaking tense electrified animal. It lasted for about 5 seconds and soon dissipates in back to the symbol.

"...Hnnn…aagh!" Hamil could still feel the painful sensation of electric currents running all over his body, but soon he gets up from the floor and stands back up to look at the spirit.

"..w-w-w-what h-happened?" asked Hamil.

The spirit turned to look at Hamil with a concerned expression, thinking of what went wrong in the process…and suddenly she thought up of most key component of using the skill and the problem why the rules interjected with the process.

"...what did you apply to your will my king?"

"What?"

"...what did you do during the willful process of the creation."

"I…I think I used my mana to try to simulate the form…I had the perfect image, the right will, so I thought that maybe I can try using my mana to create the seed." said Hamil

"I see…I forgot to tell you my lord that the most key component needed in the genesis was a mana of a different level than that of what is normally used." said the Spirit.

"...Advance mana…damn, I don't have that." said Hamil as he lacked the key component of using the skill Genesis.

To make the seed, he needed to have the right mana for the job. And to do that, he had to acquire advance mana, but doing so was not easy. A person had to be enlightened when using mana to evolve it to its Advanced form. But with Hamil still being quite a beginner in the prospects of mana, he wasn't able to enlighten himself.

"Use the flowers my king." suddenly the spirit spoke to Hamil as he pondered in his place.

"...The flowers?" asked Hamil.

"My flowers are special. They contain a small amount mana that goes way beyond that of the simple mana everyone uses."

"How do I use the flowers then?" asked Hamil.

"...devour their essence." said the Spirit with a concerned expression. As she said this, she began to control the field. Hamil saw the spirit manipulate the flowers in the field and she began turning them to his direction.

He could see the flowers starting to be pulled off from the ground and then gather at the surroundings of him and the spirit. They began to circulate around them like a twisting vortex, and soon each and every single one of those flowers began to shine a beautiful light that warmed the center. It wasn't bright enough to blind Hamil, so he can still see how amazing the process was.

Little by little, as the flowers surrounded the two, Hamil noticed the flowers were starting to wither and die. He tried to call out to the spirit about this, but as he turned to look at her, he could see the sad expression shown in her face…

Having to sacrifice one of the things she loved the most, Hamil had to respect her choice…

Soon the essence of each flower were gathering to the palm of the spirit, as if she was bending its direction right down at her palm.

A few seconds passed, and she soon blew away all of the surrounding flowers.

Causing such a strong current of wind, the flowers were scattered all over the field. The scene before Hamil's eyes could only show a saddened expression to see how gloomy the field was compared to before.

"...I'm sorry." said Hamil as he apologizes for what the spirit had to do.

"...it's fine. Flowers can always be planted yet again, but this chance that has befallen me to meet you is one of the things that I can't let pass." said the spirit. Seemingly sounding as if their encounter between one another was as if its first and last one.

"...what does that mean?" asked Hamil.

"...it's nothing." said the spirit as she holds there in her arms a jaded marble that contained all of the flower's essence.

"...!" As Hamil looked into the marble, he was amazed to see that beyond its simple form, the essence it brought was beautiful…almost as if he was looking at a majestic field of flowers in the palm on a spirit's hand.

"Here my king, use this to mend together with your mana, and it will make the Rules allow you to continue on with the creation." said the spirit as she handed Hamil the marble.

As Hamil felt the smooth sensation of the marble, he could see a smile appear at the spirit's face as she handed the marble.

"...What's wrong?" asked Hamil.

"I'm just happy." said the spirit.

"...I see." said Hamil, as he was uncertain by why the spirit was hapy.

As he stood with the marble on his hands, he began to use his mana and gather it at his palms. As his mana began to engulf the marble, the marble reacted quite well as it soon began to blend in together with Hamil's mana too. It was a weird sensation. Almost cooling and breezy as the essence of the marble completely mended together with Hamil's mana.

It seemed as though the fusion of the two was done right, but all of the work was done because of the nature of the marble itself. It kept on mending and blending into Hamil's mana as if it had a mind of its own. So without issue, the marble's essence was inside Hamil.

"It would only last for a few minutes at best, so you better hurry my king." said the spirit, telling Hamil that the essence wouldn't last forever.

"Okay." said Hamil as he began to focus yet again for the process of Genesis.

'a seed…a seed that fights off evil, one that I will create by my will, one that protects, one that blesses, one that gives life, a holy seed beyond the simple forms of creation…' the image began to yet again appear in Hamil's mind.

Soon, he began to muster his will into his thoughts.

Not long after, the symbol of rules began to appear yet again. As it circles the thoughts of Hamil and as Hamil formed the perfect image, that was when he began to use his mana into his will of thought.

---

Silence enveloped the field as the spirit looks on to Hamil.

With his hands holding on to the marble, he's body began to suddenly shake and his face was sweating all over…his hands was gripping on to one another all to point that the bones in his fingers were starting to break like eggshells.

"!!!!!" his face was contorted as the pain of creation was pulling on to his existence like a spider's thread ready to snap.

His presence alone was very different compared to before…the very pressure Hamil exerted all over was starting to break the ground below him and the winds were starting to get affected as well as it became stronger and stronger to a point that it curving the trees near the field.

Soon his eyes opened and revealed the glowing flow of mana and holy power…until finally his presence turned back to normal.

He fell to his knees as smoke began to appear from his head.

The spirit slowly approached Hamil and saw that in-between his hands, he was holding on to a glowing seed that had the mark of a ruler plastered on.

"...My king." as the spirit called out to Hamil, she could see that in his eyes, a mark was placed. A mark that she has not seen before.

"...here." said Hamil as he slowly reached out his hand and he gave the seed to the spirit.

But just as he gave the seed to the spirit, he fell face first to the ground and he soon slowly lost consciousness.

The spirit looks to the exhausted boy and smiled as his efforts finally showed the result. The spirit began to walk away from Hamil at a considerable distance, and there she planted the seed.

"...Goodbye my king." said the spirit as she commanded the fog to take away Hamil out of the field. But before he was taken completely out back to the forest, the spirit walked closer to Hamil and pecked his cheek. Along with the kiss, she gave him a special flower that glowed a mighty golden blue light.

After that, the boy was brought out to the forest…gifted and learned anew of his power.

Goodbye, mysterious spirit. Until next time.
