A few days passed and the dreams had only gotten worse. It had gotten so bad that I would daydream and accidentally use a spatula as a sword. Mal seemed to appreciate me looking like an fool so I guess it was fine, considering how much he was laughing.
Then the day had finally arrived.
"I found her!" Mal yelled as he ran up towards me
"Oh, really?" I said in a sarcastic voice "I couldn't tell"
"No need to be sarcastic" Mal pouted
I sighed and said "I'm sorry, it seems that Hero has a naturally sarcastic attitude"
"Oh. So it's getting worst" he said
"Yeah. He even talks to me sometimes" I said
"Well, hopefully mom knows how to fix this. She's not to far away" Mal said
He picked up a map with a small red circle on the top left corner.
"Using some of my blood, I found her living in a city not too far from here." He sighed and continued "The thing is, the place is full of guards who are still looking for you."
"Don't you have a spell that will hide us?" I asked
Mal grabbed my arm and yelled "yep!"
We went to his workplace and in the middle of the room were two large buckets.
"If we drench ourselves with this, we should be invisible for at least an hour" Mal said
"Do we need an hour?" I asked "Don't you know where in the city she is?"
"Nope. The map only pinpoints her general area. We will need to look around for her" he said
"I'm guessing we'll be teleporting to the city?" I said
"Mhmm." Mal agreed
He went up to the bucket and tried to lift it. It was too heavy for him so I gently poured the water over him. He slowly started fading from my sight.
"Thank you. Now your turn" Mal said
I poured the water over myself as well. Mal grabbed my hand before it faded away and the room started fading away as well. Soon, we were in an alleyway.
"Okay! Now all we need to do is look for my mom and not lose each other in the process" Mal said "Any clues on how to do that?"
"I guess we should start timing ourselves for about an hour and walk around for clues" I said
Mal looked at the sky and said "it's around 2 in the afternoon so at 3 we should head back if we haven't found her"
I looked at the sky thought *How…? Alright, not going to ask how he knows the time*
I grab his hand and start walking.
"W-why are you..?" He asked while shaking our intertwined hands
"So we don't lose each other" I said
"O-oh. Yeah"
We walked for a while before I heard someone talking.
"Are you still visiting that witch?" A woman asked
"Yeah, why?" The other woman asked
"She just...I don't know. Anyone who does magic cannot be good" the first woman said
I nudge Mal to follow them, in hopes that they would say an address or something.
The women eventually split up. We followed the one who visits the witch. She goes into multiple shops before entering one that said 'Fortune Teller' on top of it. We look through the window and see an older woman with golden hair and black eyes.
Mal nudged my shoulder and said "That's her! My mom"
I walk pull him towards the door and say "Then let's go"
"But-"
I opened the door and run into the woman who we were following.
"-the woman hadn't left yet" Mal finished
"Ghost!" She yelled as she ran back further into the store.
"Son?" Mal's mother called "Was that your voice?"
"Hi mom" he said
The woman who ran into me turned towards Mal's mother and asked "Miss? Is your son really a ghost?"
"No. Just a criminal" she said
"Huh?"
"I'll explain later. You just go home now, okay. And please forget you saw anything today" Mal's mom said
The woman soon left and just in time to. Mal and I had reappeared.
Mals mom looked at our hands before we pulled apart.
"That was just so we wouldn't lose each other" I said nervously
Mal nodded his head with a bright red face.
Mals mom smiled and said "Let's talk in the back. I think you two need to explain somethings"
