"What? A villain? You think I'm a villain?" He asked
"Well, yeah. You did try to kidnap the princess" I said
"Well, yes. But for a good reason" he said
I tilted my head and asked "What would be a good enough reason for you to kidnap someone?"
He ignored the question and looked around, as if looking for wandering people.
"Don't ignore the question!" I yelled
He looked back at me and said "We should go. I have enough magic to go back to my place."
I sighed and said "Fine"
He stood up and took my hand and closed his eyes. We stood like that for a while. I suddenly saw the forest disappear and a tall building took its place.
I felt light headed and fell to the ground.
*not again*
Everything went black
MAL'S POV
Hero fell to the floor.
*Oh great. I killed him*
He snored
*Oh! Never mind*
I looked at the tower then at Hero.
"Déjà vu" I said to myself
I grabbed Hero by his arms and dragged him to the tower and through the door. I dropped him close to the couch.
I plop down on the couch. I was exhausted. This 'villain' is not athletic.
I look over at Hero. *I wonder what he's dreaming about?*
HERO'S POV
Swing
Slash
Splatter
Red
Over and over and over. This is all I see. Swing slash splatter red swing slash...
*what is this?* I wondered
I should feel grossed out but I don't feel anything at all.
Is this how Hero feels? What made him this way?
I need to wake up. Wake up. WAKE UP!
I open my eyes. I see blue eyes staring at me.
"Are you okay?" Mal asked
"Huh?" I asked
He helped me sit up to lean against the couch.
*Wait a minute. Why aren't I sitting on the couch instead?*
"You were breathing erratically and it looked like you were having a nightmare" he explained
I remembered the dream I had. I took a breath and told Mal about it.
"I guess the rumors about you being a cold hearted soldier were a bit off as well" he said
I looked at him in confusion, "What do you mean?"
He sat next to me and said, "Well, people from the village would say that you were nothing but a killing machine on the battlefield. Your face holds no emotion and you never hesitate to kill."
I stared in shock. *That does not sound like the Hero from the book*
Mal looked over at me and saw my dumbstruck face. He widened his eyes, held up his hands, and said "I didn't mean to offend you or anything. I was just repeating what the villagers told me. Not that I believe them. Well, not anymore. I think you are an amazing guy. I mean- not amazing, just really great. Actually killing isn't great… but-"
He stopped mid-sentence and looked down. His ears were a bit red.
I tilted my head in confusion. I decided to change the topic.
"You always mention the villagers. Are these your friends?" I asked
He looked relieved for the change of topics.
"Umm. I guess. I get kind of lonely since I live in this tower alone. I would go into the village so that I could be around people." He answered shyly
"You live alone? Is that why you decided to kidnap the princess? Because you were lonely?" I asked
"No. I...I actually don't know why I did that. I just felt like that's what I was supposed to do." He said
I looked at him for a while before replying. "Well it's a good thing I am here then."
He looked over at me. "Why?"
"Because since I am never leaving your side. You'll never be alone anymore" I said
He stared at me with wide eyes before he leaned towards me.
"You mean it?" He asked with a big smile on his face.
I noticed how close we were and I blushed a bit. "Uh. Yeah"
We stayed like that for a few seconds before he realized how close he was. He sat up straight with a bright red blush on his cheeks.
"You know, I've been wondering…" I said
"Eh, yeah?" He asked
"Why are we sitting on the floor while leaning against the couch?" I asked
"Oh! You were too heavy to lift onto the couch" he replied
"You calling me fat?" I teased
"No. Just muscular" he replied calmly before realizing what he said. He looked away with a blush.
*So cute*
