CHAPTER 9:CLIMAX

The forest around twenty miles east of Rumield Castle.

There were around hundred people standing with their heads bowed.

This was the Fire Bird Squad that Jane had painstakingly built over the years just for this day.

She took a deep breathe and raised her voice.

"Comrades I am introducing the commander of the Fire Bird Squad to you at the moment.

Saying that she knelt on one knee while a small figure of a ten year old girl showed up.

There was pin drop silence in the squad. No one had expected that their commander will be a ten year old girl.

Ray was their leader. He was one of The Four who was most wanted in the surrounding three empires and had yet to be caught.

He cleared his throat and said," This….Commander will you fight alongside us?"

Catherine tried her best to put on an imposing front and said ,"Yes."

"Ahem… well your attributes are?"

"Nothing special."

There was silence.

Catherine came forward and said," I am Catherine Rumield and I want the throne of this empire. However our primary target today is the king's head!"

She continued, "You might be thinking that killing the king is the same as overthrowing him right?"

They slowly nodded.

"Good that you are honest."

"If the king is gone what will happen?"

"The kingdom will be chaos." Ray answered.

"Yes, then what?"

"Eh…Well there will be a rebellion."

"Right. The ones who will do so now will naturally be a threat to me in future."

Realization dawned on him.

He blabbered excitedly." Oh and then they will kill each other while we wait for the last survivor and then kill him to take the throne."

"Not bad."

Everyone felt that their commander was too cunning.

Killing the king was just a trap to lure out those power hungry nobles and eliminate them once and for all.
