The Maid’s Daughter

“I want to make you mine. Just mine. Forever and only.” ——— Two centuries ago, Princess Madison of Zenovia died to protect her kingdom. Her selfless deed had gotten her reincarnated as the royal’s maid’s daughter hundreds of years afterwards, not being pursued by only one, but two princes of Zenovia. Will she finally get her way and sit on the throne that was her very own birthright? The competition is getting fierce. Looks like someone will chase Emma if the other two princes of Zenovia won’t take initiative. But who will she end up with at the very end? ——— “Miss Grey, what can you tell us about your father?” Julius asked. Emma furrowed her brows. “Excuse me?” She asked. She had never known much about her father, and when she was called to the throne room, she hadn’t expected to be asked such...personal questions. She thought Julius was joking, but his serious look didn’t say the same. “My mother never told me about him. Other than the fact that he had the last name, Kennedy. That’s all I’ve ever known of him,” Emma answered, unsure of how her father was related to any of this. The King and Queen gasped. She really was the daughter of the late Duke. The King explained to the confused Emma what was going on. “Ms Grey, this ‘Kennedy’ you are speaking about, is the late Duke Kennedy. From what my advisor, Julius, is telling us, you are the biological daughter of the late Duke Kennedy of Zenovia,” he explained. Wait, what? ——— NOVEL STATUS: UNDERGOING EDITING This novel is purely fictional, and since this book's first chapter takes place around the 1800s, I must clarify that the others take place during the 21st century. The cover of this novel is not mine. And a reminder. Hate comments, self-promotion and baseless accusations of any kind will be deleted. Thanks, guys. Author out. P.S. No, I am not changing any part of the book, I am simply editing what I've written in the past and fixing grammatical errors, etc etc.

Supportive Wing-woman Mode: Activated

A few hours later, Emma and her mother were seated on two plush chairs in Emma's bedroom, catching up about all the things that happened.

"My my. It only felt like yesterday you were just about to depart for ZALE. And now you're telling me you won valedictorian out of the elite class there. I'm so proud of you, Em. I can't believe you're getting the royal title you deserve tomorrow," Chloe said as she couldn't hold her pride for her intelligent daughter.

"Mother, it's not that big of a deal. We've talked enough about me. What about you? What have you been doing these days, mother," Emma asked, not wanting to make everything all about herself.

Chloe sighed.

"I've been trying to help those in need since I'm no longer a maid working in the palace. I've been helping charities, donating as much as I could to those who need it since the royals have more than enough resources since it's essential to give back to others that need it more than you yourself do," Chloe explained.

Emma smiled warmly at her mother, the very person she had looked up to all these years, and the woman that had been her role model through and through.

"Mother, if anyone can do it, you can. I've known you all my life, mother, and I know you can do whatever you put your mind to. If anything, once I get a royal title, mother, I promise you that I'll help the needy and the voiceless. I'm going to make use of the royal title I'm going to receive, and after living a whole life without having the luxuries of being a royal, I intend to help and change the world for the better, starting with Zenovia," Emma decided.

Beaming with pride, Chloe placed her hand on her daughter's cheek.

"You're already so grown up. You don't need me and my help anymore. My baby girl is already living her best life, and I couldn't be happier for her," she said kindly.

Emma frowned.

"Mother, don't say such things. You play a vital role in my life and without you, I wouldn't be here right now. I can't thank you for everything you've given me, mother. Never forget that." Emma reminded her mother.

Chloe smiled.

"I'm so lucky to have such an amazing daughter. Who would've thought that out of all the children in the world, I'd be blessed with the best out of them all," she said honestly.

As soon as she saw Emma's reaction, she laughed softly.

"Well, as much as I'd love to catch up, the ball's tomorrow, and we can't have the guest of honour being starved of sleep, can we? Better rest now and get your dose of beauty sleep, Em," Chloe suggested.

Emma yawned.

"You're right, I am quite exhausted, and I have to wake up first thing in the morning, so I'll be heading to bed. Good night mother, I love you," Emma greeted.

Chloe embraced her daughter as if it would be the very last time they'd ever be in a loving embrace.

"Good night, Em. I love you too," Chloe said right before she left.

Emma made herself comfortable on her king-sized bed, falling victim to the silk-linen sheets that lured her to sleep.

It was the very next day, and it was during the afternoon that both Emma and Lily were seated comfortably on two director chairs, a full makeup team worked on the both of them and glamming the two of them up as they got ready for the ball that started later in the evening.

Emma wore a navy satin robe, while Lily chose the same robe, with the only difference between what they wore being that Lily's robe was coloured light pink.

"Am I the only one that's excited over your ball?" Lily asked excitedly to her best friend seated beside her.

Emma shrugged.

"I'm not that excited," she said, trying to contain her emotions inside.

There was no doubt in her mind that she was more excited to reunite with her boyfriend than the ball that was held in her honour that took place on the very same day.

"I just want to see my boyfriend again. I already miss him," she admitted.

Lily smirked.

"You two are adorable. You make a fantastic couple, Em," she said as she was once again reminded about how she was single.

"Lil, enough said about me and James' relationship. We're doing just fine. What about you and Connor? Are you going to try to pursue him?" Emma asked, being the supportive wing-woman she was.

Lily pondered about it, wondering what was it that she should do, and whether pursuing Connor was what she truly wanted.

"I guess I will," Lily murmured.

Emma raised her brow.

"You 'guess'?" She asked.

It was finally her turn to be the one giving advice and being the supportive wing-woman.

"Yes, you will. You're going to waltz in during the ball, ask him to dance, win his heart, and remember to make sure no one else does before you do, understand?" Emma said seriously, makeup artists surrounding her and doing her makeup.

"Loud and clear," Lily said in between laughs.

She had already gotten up and was on her way to leave, but right as she was about to leave, she spoke up.

"I'll be going, I've got to change into my gown, I'll be back soon. Ta ta," Lily greeted as she left Emma's bedroom for the meantime.

Since Lily wasn't the guest of honour at the ball and didn't play as an important role as Emma did, her makeup look didn't take as long, allowing her to change into the gown that Emma had chosen for her the day prior much more quickly than Emma herself.

She returned, fully clothed and decked out with her outfit she'd be wearing to the ball. Clad in a ruby red dress that accentuated her curves, a long slit that travelled up to her mid-thigh, and jewellery that complemented her hazel brown eyes and her caramel brown hair that had been curled specifically for this occasion, Lily looked gorgeous.

As Lily emerged from Emma's bedroom doorway and walked to where Emma could view her, a loud gasp was heard.
