Half a Royal, Half as Invalid

As the hype as to why Emma and Princess Madison had identical faces dwindled down, history class was finally about to come to a close.

While everyone still silently wondered what had caused this 'unrealistic-coincidence', the person with the Princess' face and the man who had feelings for her were still unable to get used to this.

Emma was still in a daze.

James was no exception either. Half of his consciousness was listening to class. Half of his consciousness was stuck wondering what kind of coincidence it was that Emma looked exactly like the late Princess Madison of Zenovia, or was something else happening.

The two of them knew this shouldn't, and couldn't possibly be taken lightly. This was something important enough to be written down in the history books, even though it would've also been deemed insignificant as a doppelganger to the princess might've been nothing else but a coincidence.

The bell rang, indicating the end of yet another class.

James shoved all theories he had to the back of his mind, as he left the classroom, this time not even bothering to notice if Emma was right behind him.

While the two exited the classroom separately, there was no doubt things were about to get very...interesting.

Meanwhile, with Courtney and Winnie. Winnie had made a shocking discovery.

Deciding to read that message her uncle sent her after class, she inevitably read it, only to realize he had sent her the results to Emma's background check.

She smiled at the results she had gotten, thanking her uncle for being quick and discreet.

She sifted through the newly found information regarding Emma, that was, until she found out the identity of Emma's mother.

Indeed she had indeed been born out of wedlock, but it was not between that of two royals, but a commoner with no status.

Dumbfounded with the new news, Winnie blinked, trying to read the information again as if she thought her eyes were tricking her.

Her eyes widened in shock as she found out the background of Emma's biological mother.

She had found out that Emma's mother was Chloe Grey, a lowly maid that worked for the royal family.

That was the very moment Winnie found out Emma was, in fact, the maid's daughter.

With the new discovery and its evidence in hand, Winnie, being the loyal slave and servant she was, rushed to Courtney, who was a few paces away from her, filing her nail as she walked farther and farther away, probably heading to the ZALE spa for some rest and relaxation, or her dorm.

Winnie raced after Courtney, trying her best not to sprint, but glide, as one lady-in-waiting should and is expected to.

It was when she reached Courtney was she ready to present her new findings to her boss, or her master.

"Courtney!" She exclaimed as she urgently tapped the royal's shoulder repeatedly.

It was a few minutes of tapping that finally got Courtney to face her lady-in-waiting, her phone in hand as she clenched her fist so tightly her hand was close to bleeding.

"What. Is. It. Pest?" Courtney asked, gritting her teeth.

Winnie was testing her patience. If she went any further, she'd be furious. Her day had not gone as she planned. She had been humiliated by her professor, and what she deemed the perfect day to relax and let Winnie do all the work for her had turned out in anything but her favour.

"Courtney, I did that background check you asked me to do about Emma. I already got the results," Winnie nervously replied, her body trembling.

Courtney's eyes lit up.

This was perfectly what she needed on a day like this.

If she couldn't get James for herself, the least she could do was find out who Emma was and find anything that she could use against her.

Courtney raised her brow, indicating she wanted to see the results for herself, as a still-trembling Winnie handed over her phone.

On its screen, was the results of the background check done on Emma. Her personal, if not private information, her likes, dislikes, her identification documents, and the thing that Courtney could use against Emma, the identity of her mother.

Of course, Courtney and Winnie had both overheard Emma admit she was born out of wedlock, now that she knew who her father was, but she had never mentioned that her mother was nothing but a lowly maid.

Courtney smiled, her smile reaching the corners of her eye, and frightening enough to scare those who were around her.

Now, this was something fascinating.

She let out a sound that was halfway between a cackle, and a snort.

"So she's half as invalid as that illegitimate child. Looks like you can be helpful," Courtney stated as a plan slowly formed in her head. She wanted to make sure to get that sweet sweet revenge she so desperately craved to give Emma.

Emma had stolen the spotlight. She had stolen everything Courtney wanted, most importantly, James. She was the one that currently owned James' heart.

Courtney knew she couldn't go anywhere near James if Emma was there with him, so she stayed silent as she thought of ways to get back at the pesky girl that was also her roommate.

Nothing was going to stop her from getting what she wanted. If Emma had James' heart, then she'd stop at absolutely nothing to get what she wanted.
