Chapter 3

Britney Park was not exactly an ordinary girl, then again, no one is. Britney was raised in a somewhat violent and lonely environment. Her parents were assassins and traveled all around the world killing evil people, so Britney's grandparents practically raised her until the age of 6. On Britney's 6th birthday, her father visited her like he always did on her birthday, but that time was different. He took her away from her grandparents, and they didn't try to stop him.

When they had arrived at their home in the city, her father told her how her mother saved his life and got captured by the same terrorists she was to face. He seemed hopeful the first week, and then he suddenly came home early and beat her up. He told her she needed to be stronger if she wanted to survive. And that's when her hell began.

Is there a reason as to why I'm telling you this? Yes, because the training William had planned for them triggered those memories. The only other person who knows about how her father trained her to be her own assassin was Louis, since her parents worked for Helvetia's government. Britney wanted to do everything in her power to make sure no one suspected or questioned her skill set. This included a physical fight with Michael.

Keep in mind that these kids were being trained to possibly kill another human, so they had to make practice as real as possible. Each person had a spell that distorts their perception, so that they would view their opponent as a possible enemy. To make matters worse, you had no idea who your opponent was. The winner of the sparring would move on to face another winner, while the loser would get a punishment.

Britney didn't exactly know who her opponent was, but she knew she had to hold herself back, for their safety. But it was hard. The spell was powerful. She managed to dodge a few hits, but it was evident that her opponent wasn't holding back. It was when Michael had somehow knocked her to the ground and was about to punch her, at least that's what everyone else saw. To Britney, it was a man about to stab her. Her body reacted before her brain did and she sent the poor guy flying.

The simulation ended and when she saw her opponent, Britney rushed over to Michael and apologised. You see, she had certain feelings about him ;). Everyone came down and asked Britney what she just did. She had begun to stutter, when Rebecca stepped and said, how she was a gymnast as a child, but quit. This is obviously a lie, but no one else caught onto it. Britney let out a sigh of relief before the second round started.

After a few eventful rounds, it was time for the final: Britney vs William. For someone who DIDN'T want attention, she did a pretty good job, right? Anyway, Britney knew William's reputation of being able to take down anyone and everyone easily at that, but that wasn't what worried her. If she didn't try, she'd get beaten up, badly, and if she wins everyone will know something's up. Rebecca told her before the match, however, that she shouldn't hide her talents when they need them the most. So she didn't.

Near the end of the fight, Britney had her hands on William's neck and began to squeeze, in real life and in the simulation. She squeezed and squeezed until she felt him tap her arm. She loosened her grip and William took that chance to kick her and end the fight by knocking her out with a punch.

When she came to, William told her how she should've kept going, but then Kiara intervened and said how HE should be grateful that she spared his life. He responded to this by saying, "No one asked YOU," and left the room. Britney noticed that Kiara's beaming smile seemed depressed, but she couldn't bring it up. She sat up and asked Kiara if she knew. She said no and both girls giggled. They ended that conversation with Kiara saying, "Don't worry. Your secret's safe with me ;)"

Brandon had been given a computer by William as a way of thanks for risking his life. Brandon being Brandon said, "I'm too humble to accept such a gift." right before accepting it. If you call yourself "TOO HUMBLE", news flash, you're not humble. AT ALL. But that's why everyone loves him. Brandon was full of himself, but he had a reason to be. He is one of the few people on Wisteria who can hack into almost everything related to modern technology, including the ISS. Don't ask. It's a long story.

Brandon took it upon himself to hack into the school's security system to check all camera footage from the week leading up to the attack and the three days that had passed since. According to him, hacking into the school wasn't the hard part, it was staying hidden. The system's fire wall usually resets every half an hour, but since the attack left the school vulnerable, it was changed to every 10 minutes. All foreign data found is destroyed, and Brandon had A LOT in his data, that he couldn't afford to lose.

Michael came into their room and saw Brandon deep in thought. He tried tiptoeing to his bed, but knocked a lamp over, frightening both of them, especially Brandon. Michael apologised for startling him and asked him what was on his mind. Brandon turned to Michael and began to explain the situation in computer language. You know, the type that 99% of humans don't understand.

Half way through his explanation, Brandon arose from his seat and ran to his computer and printed a sheet of paper. He yelled to Michael, "You're a genius!" Before dragging him out of his chair and out of his room. As they ran down the castle halls towards William's room, they saw Britney, Rebecca, Halley, Kiara and dragged them along.

William, Kylian, and Louis all exited William's quarters almost as soon as Brandon arrived. Brandon tried to push through into his room, to which William kept him out with a single push. "Do you really want me to say what I found out here? In the open? Where they can hear us?" Brandon asked him. Louis replied with a "they?" Brandon pulled Michael and asked him to get them in.

Michael knew he couldn't win in a physical fight with William, everyone one did, so he did the second best thing, he bluffed. His eyes began to change symbolizing him beginning to use his magic. William activated his as well. They just radiated magic power until their auras could be seen. Michael kept going until his eyes were dark, storm-cloud grey and had lighting bolts inside. William suddenly stood down and said, "You win. Come in."

Everyone, with the exception of Kiara, was confused and a little bit scared of Michael. William was one of the most powerful magicians they know, and Michael just beat him in a standoff. To break the silence, Rebecca said, "I'm confused. One minute I'm grabbing froyo with Kiki, Halley and Brit, the next I'm being dragged away from the direction of the kitchen and I'm witnessing Mikey over here outpower THE William Meelia. Someone explain before I lose any more brain cells."

Brandon then pushes everyone into the room and shuts the door. He turns around and says, "I think I've found the perpetrator." Halley asks if he means the person responsible for the attacks. And he says he thinks so.
