"Dad! Why are you packing your stuff?" Louise asked, with his heart beat racing fast.

He was afraid.

He was afraid to be Abandoned again.

His father narrowed his eyes at him, he immediately covered his face with his arms. Afraid to bear his father's anger again.

"Shut up, you son of a bitch! If only you had not been a lame Omega. I thought my son would be Alpha like me, but no! I was wrong."

"You were born as an Omega, your brother was also born as an Omega, I don't think I can raise freeloaders like you two" His father yelled at him. 

"D-Dad, please listen to me." Louise tried to beg, but before he could finish his sentence, a harsh slap was thrown at his face.

He fell on the floor harshly.

Tears that were on the verge of falling out, finally fell. But his father showed no remorse.

He hicupped before looking at his father. Who looked like a beast at the moment, but still, he was his father.

Even if he didn't gave any love, it was fine. But leaving him alone to fend himself, just because he was a Omega was too cruel.

He promise to not to be a freeloader.

The only thing that kept him the dying in shame was that his mother never blamed him, she even took beating for his mistakes.

Things at home only got a little lighter when his mother became pregnant again.

He thought maybe things could return to the way they used to be. Maybe his father would not abuse his mother anymore.

But before it could even happen, his mother died at birth of his brother.

He wanted to hate that child, but how could he hate a innocent child?

It was his only family left after his mother died.

He promised to himself that he will take good care of his little brother.

He still remembers the way his mother died, she was smiling peacefully. Maybe it wasn't that bad.

Through I miss her. I wish she was here.

He was only parental figure to his younger brother, who he named Lucas Frost.

His father didn't cared for either him or Louise. He just came at night becoming a drunk person, who didn't even recognise anything.

The Frost surname in thier name came from his mother's family. He never dared to call Lucas by this surname in front of his father.

But in his heart, he didn't take this man as his father, as he did not show any remorse or guilt over his mother's death. 

He just only clings to that man, because of thier blood ties. And the fact maybe he will change someday.

His hopes were scattered mercilessly again, by his own father.

His mother's family went extinct in the previous great wizard war, there were no relatives left by his mother's side.

That was the only reason she had to marry a man like, his father.

So no one of her material family was at her funeral. Her funeral was done shabbily by his father, as he said, because he didn't want to spend his money on a dead woman.

His mother must have felt sad watching it from heaven.

After his mother's death, the burden of the house fell on his shoulders. His father went outside—who knows where—while he was only three years old, trying to comfort a new-born baby. 

But thankfully, his mother's friend next door helped him take care of Lucas while he went to school. His father hired a housekeeper, so he would not have a food problem.

That housekeeper aunt was also very good and kind to him and Louise. She worked for them for 5 years before she had to leave due to her father not paying her wages at the time.

He was already 8 years old at the time, so he could barely take time between school and home.

He also took care of his 5-year-old little brother. But it was much better than when he was only three years old.

Thankfully, his father still gave him money for food and clothing. Which he guessed was only because his father also ate at home.

He knew his housekeeper aunt would have to leave one day, so he learned cooking and other house chores from the age of five from his aunt, which was the only reason he and his brother didn't end up dying due to hunger.

Because his mother left him some secret money as inheritance, he and Lucas were able to continue studying.

Because both he and Lucas were gifted in literacy, they have studied with the help of scholarships for poor but good students.

His father didn't care about him or his brother; he even brought wild women to his mother's house.

The only time his father even cared about his and his younger brother's affairs was when Lucas turned ten.

It was time for secondary genders to be determined. He hoped his brother could turn into a beta at most; he didn't care whether his brother turned an Alpha or not.

But what happened was what he was afraid of: his brother turned into an Omega. He knew his brother couldn't have a normal future anymore. 

Omega's were frowned upon. Unless you are a rich Omega, you would be public's favourite joke.

His father was very, very mad at Lucas's second gender results.

His father was about to beat Lucas. So He tried to stop him.

His brother was like apple of eyes, he couldn't see him get beaten, he learned from his previous mistake. but he wasn't his father's opponent.

He could only take beatings on behalf of his brother. His father ignored his and Lucas's pleadings, finally packed his things, and left.

Leaving us alone to fend for ourselves.

Crying Louise only came back to his senses when he heard Lucas speak, "B-big brother, are you alright?" He turned his head toward his brother.

Lucas's eyes were red, he seemed to be crying for a while. Looking at his brother's face, he couldn't help but feel pity for him.

He had just lost both his father and mother figure, at such young age.

He didn't even understood it completely, yet...

He had dealt with these things from a young age, but Lucas was just a normal ten-year-old child. He didn't know how harsh the outside world was.

He has tried his best to keep his brother away from any kind of trouble, but looking at his pitiful appearance, he feels heartbroken.

He hurriedly wiped his face and took Lucas into his embrace. Lucas couldn't help but cry in his brother's similar embrace.

From the moment he was born, the only one who cared for him and took care of him was his brother. And seeing him hurt like this because of him, he felt guilty for some reason.

Louise patiently stroked him until he fell asleep. Looking at the time, it was already midnight.

He was hungry but not in the mood to eat something at the moment. He brought Lucas to their shared bedroom and laid him on the bed.

He started to dress his wounds. He also slept soon after dressing his wounds. Life was going to be harsh than ever.

Whether his father was a good person or not, his presence kept the unessary trouble away but not anymore.
