8"Determined

Chang Yang sat in her room and stared at her laptop. She exited the page and typed something in again. The result was definitely not what she wanted to see because her fists clenched and her face hardened in anger. She exited the page again and furiously typed in, " Lu Shen and Chang Yang's wedding". The result was the same- "No results found".

Angrily, she stood up with her phone in her hand. She put through a call and placed the phone on her ear. The call was answered on the third ring.

 " What happened to the article about my wedding?" Chang Yang said ignoring his greeting.

 " Ma'am, I was asked to take it down. I thought you knew" the man on the other end said. She clenched her fists tightly.

 " Who asked you to take it down?" She asked. There was silence for a while then he said,

 " Mr Lu Shen"

That was not what she expected to hear and it hurt her and angered her all the same. She ended the call and angrily threw the phone to God-knows-where. She tried to calm down by taking in deep breaths. It was of no use in reducing the pain she was feeling but at least it took away the anger. Temporarily.

There was a knock on her door and it opened. Chang Yang turned to see who had dared walk into her room without permission. She however calmed down when she saw Mrs Lu, Lu Shen's mother.

 " Oh dear! I had to come see you immediately. I heard what happened at the hospital, I'm really sorry" Mrs Lu said.

Chang Yang chuckled dryly.

 " Why are you sorry? It wasn't your fault at all" she said.

 " Chang Yang, don't blame yourself"

 " I'm not blaming myself. Lu Shen had the article of our wedding taken down the internet. Why would he do that? "

 " He did that?" Mrs Lu expression was that of complete shock.

 " Yes he did. And now nobody knows that I'm his fiancee but every god damn person knows he got married to that useless Ah Cy. That isn't fair. "

 " Chang Yang, please calm down. I'm sure he has his reasons. This isn't the time for this, I just got back from the hospital" Mrs Lu said and began sobbing quietly. Chang Yang's expression softened.

 " How is he?" She asked.

Mrs Lu sniffed and said,

 " The doctor said he's in a coma and he won't be recovering any time soon. And when he does, there's… there's a chance of brain damage. He might lose his memory" She started sobbing again. A tear fell off Chang Yang's eyes and she went over to her supposed to be mother-in-law and hugged her.

 " It's gonna be okay. Everything is going to be fine" She said but even she wasn't sure of that.

The evening sun rays shone into the room and reflcted on her determined face. Chang Yang had had the whole day to herself and she had been doing a lot of thinking.

Her thoughts were interrupted when she looked at the television screen and saw a familiar sight. She picked up the remote and increased the volume. It was the news.

 " News reaching us says that dashing CEO and business tychoon, Lu Shen has been involved in a very fatal accident. It happened yesterday at the Yulong bridge where,in a hurry to reach somewhere, he collided with an ambulance bus which was there as a result of the earlier accident that had taken place, still on the same day." the reporter said.

Chang Yang's attention was more on the picture on the screen than what was being said. It was the scene of the accident and they were two familiar cars there. One belonged to Lu Shen and the other, Ah Cy.

Chang Yang found herself standing as she listened to what the reporter said next.

 " It turned out that someone had driven himself or herself over the bridge. Suicide or not, we don't know yet. The car has been taken out of the river but there's no body in sight which leaves us all confused"

There was only one thing Chang Yang could make out of everything she just heard. Ah Cy had driven herself over the bridge. She gasped as realisation dawned on her and a huge smile creeped into her face. Her biggest obstacle was out of the way. Lu Shen was all hers now, even though he was in a near-to-death state. Ah Cy had been eliminated and she didn't even have to do it herself. How exciting it was to finally hear some good news with everything that had been going wrong. Now all she had to do was cross her heart and hope Lu Shen wakes up and then everything would work out as she planned.

Her smile widened even more as she remembered what Lu Shen's mother had said before she had left.

 " Lu Shen belongs to you and he always will. As long as we're alive, we will make sure he gets married to you. You don't have to worry about anything"

She was right. Lu Shen belongs to her, them,now and forever. He was hers. She was worrying for no reason, she had all the support she needed. She didn't need to worry because some non-entities didn't realize that she was Lu Shen's fiancee, very soon all of that would be gone.

He just had to wake up and Chang Yang was more than determined to have him all to herself.
