12"Reborn For Revenge!

She couldn't sleep. Saying she was tired was just an excuse so she could get some time alone. There were a lot of things she needed to think about, a lot of things that she had to understand and a lot of things she had to decide.

Ah Cy sat on the bed, her knees to her chest and her hands around them. Her mind was racing with a million thoughts. She had never believed in rebirth. She had heard of it from people but she didn't think it was real and she didn't expect that it would come to her. But just as Jiu Ming had said, this was the only explanation she had. She had died and was reborn. Maybe her luck had finally decided to favour her. Maybe it had realised that she had suffered way too much and had decided to give her another chance. And it had taken her to someone as nice and kindhearted as Jiu Ming. Maybe her life was finally going to fall into place. Maybe!

But then another thought came into her mind. What if she had been reborn so she could take her revenge? Maybe this was just how her life was meant to be,all the sufferings, the pain and heartache she went through, maybe it was her fate. And now her luck wanted to redeem itself, to quench its guilty conscience by giving her a second chance to make all wrongs right, to even all scores with everyone that had hurt her. Maybe that was it. Maybe!

Or maybe it wasn't her luck at all that gave her this second chance. From the start, her luck had been a bitch, never making anything right for her. Why had it decided to change now. It definitely wasn't it. It had to be the chain. The chain, wherever it came from, had just decided to help a helpless lady like her. It had felt her tears and wanted to help her. It had her name on it so maybe it was destined to come to her at the end. Maybe all of this was just destiny. Maybe all of it was just fate.

Ah Cy felt like she was going crazy. What was she even thinking? She sounded like someone who had just made it out of the asylum. All of these things, if she said them to someone else, they would definitely conclude that she was crazy.

Ah Cy took a deep breath and her hand ran over the chain on her neck. She could feel tears in her eyes as she thought of the life she lived. Everything in her life went wrong from the start. Her family, her best friend, her husband, all of the people that were supposed to make her life worth living turned out to be the ones that destroyed it. She was hurt. She felt the pain all over again, the heartache felt new. Like she had just faced everything that caused it the day before. She didn't try to stop the tears that started falling. She deserved to cry. She had tried to stay strong for too long. She wasn't strong and trying to be was only hurting her more. She had so many regrets.

If she had endured it the day her brother insulted her and hadn't hit him, then she wouldn't have been beaten the way she was and locked up for three days. She wouldn't have decided to find love elsewhere and not in her family and then she wouldn't have found Chang Yang and made her best friend. If she hadn't found Chang Yang then she wouldn't have had to face the pain of her betrayal.

If she had given up when she was rejected by Lu Shen's parents, if she hadn't insisted to Lu Shen, if she hadn't begged them the way she did then she wouldn't have been married to Lu Shen and she wouldn't have gone through everything that she went through for seven years of their marriage.

If she hadn't listened to Chang Yang, if she hadn't let herself go like she did, if she hadn't been such a scaredy cat everytime around Lu Shen, if she hadn't cowered everytime he looked at her, if she had been a lot more bold like Chang Yang was, then maybe he would have fell for her like he did for Chang Yang. Maybe he would have looked at her a lot more differently. Maybe he would have loved her like she wanted him to, not be ashamed of her.

Her heart was aching. For seven years she had yearned for him to love her, she had done everything she could think of, she had been a good wife and he had gone ahead to fall for her best friend. How could he? How could he do something like that? Didn't he have any conscience at all? Didn't he care even one bit about how she'd feel when she found out? And Chang Yang, she knew very well that her actions would hurt Ah Cy. She was supposed to be a best friend not a backstabber. Now Ah Cy realized that she would have enjoyed her loveless solitude of a life, she would beared it. She would have made something out of being alone then she wouldn't have been hurt. She brought people close to her and they knew exactly the spot to hit to hurt her.

Ah Cy realized, as she sat bundled up in that position with tears falling off her eyes, that Chang Yang had planned it all along. Her best friend hadn't been a best friend at all. She had planned it all along. That was why she had adviced her to not give up on Lu Shen so she could take him away in the end. It was a perfect plan and it had worked perfectly.

With her heart still aching, Ah Cy wiped the tears out of her eyes forcefully. There was no need crying now. She had to make things right for herself. She had to make them payback for everything they did to her. If she had been given a second chance then she had to make the best out of it. The pain she felt was too much to just let it slide. She couldn't forgive them, maybe she could but she didn't want to. Not if they didn't even feel remorse about what they did. She was going to make them pay. They were going to feel exactly what she felt. She didn't know how she was going to do it but she knew she was going to. She was determined this time and it was going to happen. Jiu Ming was willing to help her and she was as determined as ever before so surely they could work something out. Two heads is better than one. Now she was going to make her perfect plan and it was going to work out perfectly.

They wouldn't see her coming. They thought she was dead, right? Dead people take it as their duty to haunt all those who hurt them. That was exactly what she was going to do. Haunt the people that hurt her. All of them, her mother and father, her brother, Chang Yang, Lu Shen and his parents, they were going to face her wrath.

Ah Cy stood up from the bed and wiped off the last of her tears. She was going to be strong. She had to be. Her mind was made up and there was no going back. This was her destiny. This was what fate had in store for her. She was reborn for this. She was reborn for revenge!!!
