Chapter 3 So? Powerful Men Have To Listen Too

Osa's POV

The maid came in to give me some clothes, she was fairly nice and the items she gave me seemed to have fit perfectly after I took a shower.

Even the bra was up to size.

I slip on the socks, enjoying the feel of the soft, clean spaghetti string vest and black and white sweatpants.

After moments of simply staring at the room, I got bored... curious. So I decided to go out, walking into the halls and wandering into lost bedrooms.

I padded downstairs, ignoring the looks of the tall, dark, and wondering men, all dressed in tight suits, even at this murderous hour.

"Hello. ."One smirks at me but I ignore him and walk to the living room. There was one with hard eyes, just staring at me and I took time to tilt my head at him. Boys think that women will just bow down to them with a simple smirk or a deep deformed muscle in their cheeks, oh wait my bad,?dimple.?Its a shame though, that some women do, but don't worry, there are strong ones. Who knows where to draw the line, who knows how to put their boundaries in place.

I was on walking when he grabbed my arm and pulls me towards him. "I spoke to you." He grits and I raise an eyebrow at him.

I'm afraid of everything I?can't see. But is everything I can't see afraid of me?

Why is it that we humans, well most of us, are frightened by darkness? Is the darkness afraid of you, as it holds nothing but at the same time everything? That shaky feeling of uncertainty of what lurks before you. The exhilaration as your heart decides to move faster than you expect to. That wave of inhumane heat that covers you. The cold sweat, then finally, the screaming.

Your mind.

Your mind is where everything is stored, obviously. Your mind will scream at you to run! Go into the light where you can?see,?and stay away from darkness because you don't know what lurks.

But it's just what is your mind.

Its playing tricks on you, tell me you've seen a monster in the closet? How about under the bed? Get rid of those fears girly, the worlds gonna throw a lot more at you.

You see I wasn't afraid of what I could see, the constant beatings... the constant hatred... my?color was being used against me and I?know I'm beautiful.

No one has to tell me, but I wasn't strong enough to fight against two, their words cut like knives and I ended up breaking. I'm still breaking just hoping that the next day will be my last.

I wasn't afraid when they took knives and ran it down my body for I am already littered with scars that I willingly gave myself, but I was afraid that maybe someone would see.

I was ashamed of what they made me be, of what they did to my skin so in return I joined the only to ease the pain.

So if this man is seriously acting like I'm afraid of him he's dead wrong. I'm only afraid. . . of what's gonna happen next when I decide no ones going to handle me like that,?anymore.

"Frankie." A familiar voice snaps and his eyes lift in surprise. His hand loosens around my arm and I reel my hand back, punching him in his face. The room goes dead silent and I turn to face Valesco.

"He's rude. You should get that fixed." I step past him and he grabs my hand pulling me into his office.

"Osa, you can just go around punching my men. They don't know you yet and they won't hesitate to put a bullet in your head."

"Let them do it then." I cross my arms and he sighs.

"You're very difficult for an abused person."

"How do you know I was being abused?"

"Money, makes the world go round." He states.

"God. Makes the world go round, don't?ever put his hard work on some worthless item." He was about to open his mouth, "joke or not."

"I'm a mafia leader. I don't even know why I'm listening to you."
