6:00 pm, Milan.

He took a step in and the first thing he caught sight of was gleaming brown hair falling over shoulders to white silk.

" I hope I'm not late for the show." 

He watched her peer at his reflection in the dressing mirror in front of her. A gasp rippled from her lips, her eyes widening in pleasant surprise, a sliver of disbelief still lingering within.

" Dominic?" She croaked, his mere presence knocking the air from her chest. 

" It had been far too long." He took steps closer. " How have you been, Claudia?" 

Too shocked to speak, too stupefied to turn, Claudia's feet stayed planted to the spot, the heel of her shoe digging into the linoleum.

After staring at his reflection for what felt like decades, her stupor cracked open. 

" I thought you were dead." 

Dominic inched closer. " Do I look dead?"
