Chapter 13

Lina stopped him with a gesture of her hands. "We will deal with her mercilessly!" She conspired with her mate and went with some of their guards who supported them to the room the king stayed. She was boiling in anger on why the king would dare torture and badly injure her mate. She was going to descend the same on his mate but at this moment, their minds didn't go as far as thinking what would happen when Casmien got to discover what happened to his mate later on.

Meanwhile Casmien was going on the way, heading to the palace, communicating with Adrian all along the way. Fifty meters to the palace, he lost contact with him. When he tried to call, the call AI would respond, "Sorry. The number you're trying to call is unavailable at the moment."

This alarmed him.

"What could be wrong?" He wondered to himself. "Drive faster!" He ordered the driver.

"Yes sir," the driver responded. They were going at the speed of the wind, luckily for them it was night and most of the roads they used were quite clear.

They arrived at the palace, Casmien stepped out of the car, his bodyguards surrounded him as they walked towards the main entrance. It was such a massive royal seat of government, the building alone covered a wide hectares of land.

"I wish I could get in touch with Adrian, so I know basically where they are," he said to Francis, his chief security officer.

"I'll find that out now."

He quickly pulled his phone from his pocket and placed a call on the head of the CCTV media unit. This is supposed to be recorded by the camera unit, where the attack is currently going on.

Just then they heard gunshots.

Casmien knew it was quite serious. He turned towards Francis but he held a disappointed face. "His line isn't even connecting, perhaps they have unplucked the connection cable."

All calls that were either going outside from the palace or going in were censored, this was to prevent conspiracy. Any suspicious calls or text messages ought to be detected by the security system and reported to the security unit for prior investigations.

"They know that we could use this to detect what's really going on," Francis complained.

"Why must it be today, my birthday?" Casmien murmured. "That's why I don't like going out for events, look what has happened." Another gunshot was heard from inside. Being one who schooled in a military Academy, that was a sophisticated gun from the sun.

"Quick, quick. Call the SWAT Team. Ask them to be here in the next five minutes." Casmien ordered Francis. His wolf told him this is a planned set-up, it must be from one of his enemies.

"Hmm," he released a heavy breath as his chest was pounding, contracting hard as he began to think of all the enemies he had. His mind went to Alpha Gary, he contemplated on him for a while from where his thoughts landed on Kate.

"What's likely going on there? Is she asleep?" He asked her wolf but he refused to say anything, it went silent. Casmien wondered why everything at the moment was so confusing. Since his wolf refused to speak out, he thought that she was asleep and didn't want anyone to disturb her.

He took his mind to the present, waiting for the arrival of the SWAT. Just as usual they were here in no time, they arrived silently without blowing the sirens.

"I'm in charge of them, step behind." Casmien told his chief security officer. His heart was tormenting him to act like a man. He's strong and powerful, a skilled soldier, why was he stepping back and letting Francis do everything?

"Come with me," he led the SWAT inside of the palace. "Francis, tell your guards to wait for me here, we need informants in case more are coming in, we get signaled."

"How will we be able to talk to you?" Francis asked, being that the communication cable was supposedly disconnected.

"You can send one of your men to come tell us."

It needed a very sensitive person that could easily detect where they were.

"Alright sir," Francis agreed with a bow.

"You all have guns, right?" Casmien asked and everyone nodded.

"Good!" He gave them a thumbs-up. "I don't need to say much but you know what to do in the case of an attack?"

"Yes, your majesty." They chorused in unison. With this, Casmien walked in with the SWAT, their dogs were ahead to lead the way. There were over thirty SWAT officers first dispatched.

They rushed in, with Casmien leading the way.

"This way!" He gestured to his men as they were up at the central wing of the palace, confused as to either way to go.

To his shock, he met with them as they were about to knock down into his apartment, not just any other place but his safe room where he stored many confidential documents of the government. He let out a smile, this was enough to tell him that the attack was staged by someone.

The men seeing him froze, his presence wasn't only casting a strong aura over them but intimidating.

As both teams stood watching each other, another man emerged, he was their gang leader. He sensed that.

"Are you guys out of your senses, what are you waiting for?" He growled at them, seeing them standing like that without doing anything. He was coming from the rear, so he was yet to see that the Alpha King and his SWAT team were already in front.

"Target. Shoot him!" Casmien whispered to his right hand man.
