This isn't your normal werewolf story. Yes it has love, war, packs, and wolves in it, but is very different. My name is Alexa Wood, I am an amory lycan. Legend says I and another amory lycan will stop the war and create peace with the humans, and this is my story.

Chapter 4: Trust Must Be Earned

Alexa's P.O.V.

I woke up early Monday morning and got ready for school. As I was getting dressed when I couldn't help but think back to this past weekend and how much fun it was not having to care about everything that is going on in this world and just have fun. I loved how I didn't have to worry about my future alpha position or the hunter in town.

I heard my phone ringing. I walked over, picked it up and saw Eli's name on the screen. "Hey Alexa I got some news on the new kid, and I am not sure you are going to like it." "What is it Eli?" "Well it turns out that he is taking honors and might have some classes with you and his first day of school is today." "Okay Eli thank you."

I hung up the phone then called Artemis. "Artemis you awake." "Yes alpha what do you need." I smiled at the fact she referred to me by my future title and I could tell I woke her up. "Sorry for waking you, but I need you to do something."

"Of course what do you need?" "Well the new kid is coming today, so I want you to keep your phone on and with you all day and make sure you don't smell any silver or aconite." "Okay Alexa I can do that, but why watch for silver and aconite?"

"Because aconite may not be able to kill us but it sure does hurt like hell, and a silver bullet to the heart or silver blade can kill us if we don't get it out in time." "Okay you got it, talk to you later." I hung up the phone and finished getting ready.

I walked down stairs to the kitchen, saw a plate of food, put my helmet on the table, and under the plate was a note. I picked it up and read it. [Sorry sweetie I had to go shopping this morning. I will see you after school. Have a good day. Love, Mom]

I sat down and ate my breakfast then put my plate in the sink and wrote my mom a note back. [Thank you for breakfast. Hope you have a great day too. Love, Alexa] I grabbed my helmet and left for school.

I got there, and noticed Artemis wasn't with the group. I walked up, fixing to ask where Artemis was when Eli spoke up. "Hey Alexa, Artemis told me to tell you that she is checking the perimeter of the school." "Okay that's fine."

When the bell rang for class I got my books from my locker, and put my helmet up then went to class. I went and sat in my seat and waited for the bell to ring. The bell rang and the teacher walked in, and that's when I smelt him before I saw him this well fit, strong, tall, sexy, black haired, ocean blue eyes slightly darker than mine, lycan walks in behind the teacher.

The teacher introduced the new kid. "Class this is the new kid Cain Reed, he is new and I expect you all to be nice to him." The teacher was talking when his eye landed on mine. I immediately looked down and grabbed my phone and texted Eli. 'Eli we have a big problem?' 'What is it, Alexa are you okay what happened.' 'I am fine but the new kid Cain is a lycan.'

'You can't be serious, but they said his dad is a lycan hunter.' 'I know let everyone know not to do anything till I say so.' I looked back up, and he was gone … where did he go and that's when I felt him next to me. I turned and looked at him not knowing what to say.

"Hey I am Cain you must be Alexa." "How do you know my name?" He looked at me weird. "The teacher just pointed at you and said your name and said I could sit next to you." "Oh yeah must not have heard that part." The teacher started class.

I tried not to pay much attention to him but I could feel him looking at me now and then. Did he know what I was, did he know what he was? Were the rumors true? There were so many questions running through my head.

When class ended and I went to my next class and saw he didn't have this class with me I was so relieved. I don't know if I could have set through another class with him. After class, I was walking to my locker to put my books away when I heard him call my name.

I kept walking, acting like I didn't hear him, but then I felt a hand on my shoulder. I stopped and turned around. "Did you not hear me call you?" "No, sorry the halls are pretty loud." I could tell he knew I was lying. "I need to talk to you Alexa." "About what?" "Not here somewhere more private."

"Okay, but let me put my books away, then we can talk, just follow me." As we walked to my locker I texted Artemis and Eli. 'Guys Cain wants to talk with me in private. I am taking him to our table outside so stay close, but do not approach.' They both answer. 'Got it.'

We got outside, went and sat down at my table. I could sense Eli close and relaxed just a little. "Okay Cain, what did you want to talk about?" He just looked at me for a while before finally speaking. "Well as I am sure you know I am a lycan and Mr. Reed is a hunter." "Wait, you said Mr. Reed, I thought he was your dad." He slightly frowned.

"No Mr. Reed is my adoptive dad so to say." He looked at the table, then looked back up. "Mr. Reed comes from a long line of scientists and hunters. He found my mom when she was pregnant with me. He took her and locked her in a cell by herself till she gave birth."

"Sorry to interpret but I thought they killed the lycans not kept them." He nodded his head. "Usually they do kill them unless it is a pregnant female. Then they keep her till she gives birth. They are not completely monsters, they don't kill children."

I nodded for him to continue. "Well after my mom gave birth to me then they killed her and took me and raised me as their own. When I was five they started training me. By the time I was ten I was fighting full-grown men. They were making me into a soldier that they could use."

I reached out and put my hand on his. He looked like he was going to pull away, but he didn't. "That's awful Cain, no child should have to go through what you did."

"Well ever since I was 16 Mr. Reed would move me from town to town to find lycans for him. He got a report that there was a pack here, so we came. I didn't want to. I am tired of what he is having me do. Once I find a lycan he doesn't kill them himself he makes me."

I looked him in the eyes. "How many?" I could see the sadness and pain in his eyes. "60. He has made me kill 60 lycans, but not just kill them he would take them back to headquarters and make it into a show. He put us in a cage and fight to the death. It was either we both die or I survive."

"Alexa I need your help, I don't want to have to kill you." With that Eli stepped out. "No one is touching my alpha." Cain didn't move a muscle. "Alpha?" Eli walked over and stood next to me. "Not yet. My father hasn't stepped down yet."

"I knew you had power, but I was not expecting alpha." Cain looked at Eli. "Then that must make you the beta." Eli didn't do anything, just stood there as protective looking as he could.

I saw Artemis on her phone. I guess she texted the others, because after a few seconds they all came out of the building and walked over to us. They all stood beside me. Cain looked at everyone in awe. "I have never seen so many lycans at once." I chuckled. "Cain, this is just the seniors."

"Wait so how many are there here?" I thought about it for a second. "About 100 throughout town. This is the biggest pack." Lily leaned down and whispered in my ear. "Are you sure we can trust him." "Lily I don't think he is going to hurt us or the pack."

"Cain, I need you to go home and tell Mr. Reed, you think the reports were false and that you didn't find any signs of lycans." "Okay, but I don't know if he will believe me." The bell rang to signifie lunch was over we all left and went to our classes. I don't know why but I felt like I could trust Cain, but there was something off about him. I just couldn't determine what.

Cain was in all my afternoon classes, but since lunch I wasn't afraid of him I accepted him as a friend. I know that if it was up to him he wouldn't be doing any of this. I am going to help no matter what I have to do. No one should ever have to go through what he is going and gone through.
