Turning Mia into the Dark Side 4

"Mommy? He hurt me! Are you not going to do it for me?"

"Kene…" Mia's face turned pale. 

Mia didn't know what to do. On one hand, not only was Eden her cousin, but killing him was morally wrong, and Mia had never killed a human before. However, on the other hand, seeing Kene's downcast expression, she felt the urge to make her happy.

"Garw Garw" (Do it!) Leo said it in a tone that would not take a no as an answer.

"Mommy, will you do this for me? Sniff," Kene asked in a teary voice. 

Mia's resistance gradually gave way under the goblin's repeated orders and Kene's whimper and plea.

She picked up the dagger on the ground with shaky hands and darted her eyes between the unconscious Eden and the dagger.

With little steps at a time, she slowly made her way to Eden. As she arrived in front of him, she bent down, raised the dagger, and pointed it directly at her cousin's chest. Her heartbeat accelerated, and her breath quickened as she realized what she was about to do. When she tried to back down, Leo went behind her and grabbed her hand.

"Garw Garw" (What do you think Kene's reaction will be upon witnessing her adored mother's inability to exact vengeance on the person who harmed her? She will be very hurt and disappointed in you.) Leo whispered in Mia's ear. 

She turned to look at Kene after hearing the goblin's words and noticed the expectation on her face. 

"Garw Garw Garw" (Do you want to see that? I'm sure you don't. So go ahead and do it; everything will be fine; no one will blame you; Kene will see just how much you care for her...) Leo paused and kissed her on the cheeks. "Garw Garw" (and I will be proud of you too).

'N-No one will blame me. Everything will be fine.'

As if influenced by his words, Mia's hands moved on their own and swung downward. However, as if time had slowed down, while the dagger moves downward toward Eden's heart, flashes of memories of the times she had with Eden and her party enter her mind.

"NO!"

Mia widened her eyes in horror and stopped her hand just as the dagger was about to strike his heart. She hurried to throw the dagger away.

"Huff, huff, what am I doing?… I almost killed... " She grabbed her hair in shock at what she had almost done. 

"I can't... sniff, I can't... I can't kill him…Please." Shaken, Mia turned around and glanced at Leo with teary eyes. She went into the goblin's chest and wanted to be embraced by him and feel comforted. However, he shoved her away instead.

Dumbfounded that she had been pushed away, she looked up at the goblin who had stood up. "Why…"

"Garw Garw Garw" (I am disappointed. I thought you were someone who truly loved their child, but it seems I was wrong.) Leo said it in a cold and unfriendly tone. "Garw Garw" (leave, and don't ever come back. This is me being kind right now since you are Kene and Noah's mother.)

"Y-you are abandoning me?" Mia stuttered in disbelief.

"Garw Garw Garw" (Yes. It's not like I can't find another woman to have fun with)  

"You can't do that…"

"Garw Garw" (yes, I can)

"I don't have anywhere to go…"

"Garw Garw" (not my problem)

"I need you…" 

"Garw Garw" (but I don't?)

"Sniff... B-But Kene and Noah—"

"Mom"

The icy manner in which her daughter had just spoken to her made Mia tremble. She turned to face Kene and noticed that she was staring at her with a disappointed and gloomy expression.

"You never actually cared about me."

"That's not true! I—" Mia attempted to stand up again and rush to tell Kene that was not true, but that's when she heard what she had to say next. 

"I hate you." Kene declared as she stared at her with a hurt expression, "I don't want to see you ever again. I only need Daddy and Brother in my life."

"Ah…" Mia felt her heart break into a million pieces as she fell back to the floor. Her once-bright eyes suddenly darkened, as though she had lost all purpose in life and had turned into an empty shell.

"Garw Garw Garw" (Let go, Kene; if she doesn't want to go, then leave her here with that bastard boy since she cares more for him than her daughter.) Leo said it with sarcasm. 

'Where did it all go wrong?' She thought to herself, desperately trying to understand what she had done wrong. 'Why did they leave me?'

"Ugh, my head," At that moment, Eden woke up and began to grip his head in pain. Glancing around, he saw Mia sobbing from her dead eyes as she stared blankly into space. 

He noticed something off about Mia and inquired in a concerned manner. "Mia, what happened? Are you okay? And where did those two go?"

"they left…" Mia muttered in a voice devoid of emotion. 

"I see…" He said, relieved to learn that the goblin had left and delighted that she was speaking with him. 'Oh right!'

"Mia, you have to believe me! I didn't hurt your daughter; that bitch lied to you!" He said that, remembering that he was framed by that goblin girl. 

"What did you say?" Her voice suddenly became sharp. 

He thought that she was mad about learning that her daughter had lied to her, so he smiled. 'I knew she would trust me.'

"I said that bitch lied to you! I know she is your daughter, but you can't trust her! You have to be careful," he warned in a serious tone. 

"How dare you call her that?" Ice mana burst forth from Mia and spread throughout the cell, causing ice to begin forming everywhere.

"Huh?!" Eden watched in horror as his entire body started to freeze. "Mia?!"

When he turned to face her, he felt a shiver down his spine as, above Mia, two large, clear blue ice-like eyes stared at him, seemingly peering directly into his soul. Mia's eyes took on an even darker shade of blue, and her hair gradually changed from white to blue. 

"That right… It was all your fault; nothing would have happened if it were not for you. Why did I try to save you?… If you could have just died… haha" Mia chuckled and stared at him with extreme hatred. "Please Die"

"Mia w—"

Swish!!

What the fuck!?

That was the reaction Leo had when he saw the scene before him. 

Inside the now entirely frozen cell, a lone girl could be seen sitting on the floor, staring at a frozen statue in an emotionless tone. As if sensing he was watching her, she turned her eyes toward him. 

"You won't abandon me now, right?" Mia smiled creepily at him.
