Chapter 6
Morgana DeLari ~
Sofia left the young princess in my arms as she left to inform her husband of the death of his only sister and her delivery beforehand. I looked at the child in all her innocence and beauty. The first thing that I did as soon as Sofia left was to cast a protection spell on her.
At least to keep her protected for the mean time. Now she is born, the lycan king would stop at nothing to kill her. She is after all his undoing according to the prophecy.
She was so young and that meant that her powers couldn’t be relied on at this stage to keep her from evil hands especially now that she is wanted by someone who wines and dines with evil.
By nature, she was a trybrid and not just any trybrid. She was the rarest of their kind which meant that she would grow up and become extremely and exceptionally powerful and someone out there would always want that power.
“Don’t you fret little one! No one is going to hurt you.” I said after cleaning her up, placing her in a warm cloth and inserting a kiss on her temple.
As surprising as it was, she wasn’t crying like most babies do after birth. She was at peace and to me that was all that mattered. From time to time, she made some body movements assuring me of her strength.
“Sleep, lowly one, under the night sky,
Sleep, have peace and don’t cry,
You are loved, You are cherished,
Don’t fret for the evil has perished.”
I sang the tune of an ancient witch lullaby. Right at that moment, I heard footsteps approaching the place that we were. With the battle going on outside and Sofia’s absence for so long, fear gripped me.
I gathered some bravery to pick up a sword from one of the trap doors.
“Who’s there?” I shouted holding the young princess in one hand and the sword in the other. “Sofia!!” I said giving a sigh of relief and dropping the sword down on the hard ground.
I guess I shouldn’t have done that because the noise that it produced brought about the child’s wails.
“She’s beautiful!” said King Frederick as he came into the place as well drying his welled eyes with a finger sending the tears to the ground.
I had already covered Alessia up and laid her in a casing just by the spirit waters so I couldn’t help but feel mournful for Frederick who lost his sister.
“Just like her mother!” he added walking closer to me as more tears fell down his cheeks.
I suppose being around her uncle calmed the child’s nerves. At the presence of Frederick above her, her wails subsided and in no time, she was back to her quiet and sleepy self.
“She is over there.” I said pointing to the pool where the remains of the late queen laid.
Frederick took the young child from my hands and went down the chamer made of metal and glass wherein the body of his sister laid temporarily immersed in a pool.
He stayed there standing still for nothing less than five minutes before he turned. He wasn’t so careful with the child and so one of her hands gashed against a metal bar.
The young child bled right on top of the casing where he late mother was and then, the wound cleared up. Perks of being a vampyre I guess.
“What do we do now?” I asked.
“The only thing that matters! We get her to safety!” Frederick commanded eyes glued on the child.
“Your Majesty? Where is that exactly? Need I remind you and if I recall perfectly there’s a whole lot of lycans out there howling for her.” “Nowhere can be safe for her anymore.” I said as a tear escaped my eyelids.
“Nowhere here, that is?” The king replied.
“What do you mean, nowhere here?” I asked with an arched brow.
“Right now, as long as she stays in this world, she will always be a threat to herself and all those around her. The only way to ascertain her safety and at the same time live to fight another day is to…” I gave the king no such opportunity to continue his statement before I cut him short.
“... Take her to the human world.” I said with sadness on my lips.
Once, a legendary witch fell in love with an Alpha lycan. Their love was so strong but there was a barrier to it. The two creatures were at war with one another at that time and so there was no hope of their love getting to thrive.
Not in this world at least.
The witch conjured up a magical portal that led to a world without magic - THE HUMAN WORLD. There, they were able to live out their lives and their love together but there was a catch.
All magic comes at a price.
Immediately they both crossed into the other world, they both lost their powers as supernatural creatures.
“I know that you may think it to be a very bad idea but Morgana, there’s a whole army of mutant lycans out there ready to capture her and one of the biggest coven of vampyres and witches and warlocks are more than ready to give up their lives to save her.” “We can’t let any of their deaths be in vain. That’s the only possible way.” Sofia said conjuring up a version of the scroll that contained the spell.
“It isn’t just a terrible idea. It’s a terrible and dangerous one too. Don’t forget that as soon as she crosses over, she might be powerless and that for anyone to try to get her back to this world, I must have to reopen the portal from this end.” I said trying to warn them both of the consequences of sending one of the most powerful if not the most powerful creature in this world into a world where her true nature would be hidden. “If I do this, I’ll be the only one who can undo it.”
“She has the blood of a vampyre in her so technically, she’ll still have her powers.” said Sofia reminding me of the fact that vampyres didn’t cross the limit of nature and as such were somehow immune to the side effects of walking through worlds.
“So let me get this straight! You both wish to send according to the ancestral witches’ prophecy, one of the most powerful creatures, an exceptional trybrid into a land where everyone is powerless?” I asked with my hands folded.
“I know. It is crazy but there is no other way. Her going to that world would make sure that no lycan can follow or do her any harm.” Frederick said. “As for the whole ‘powerless’ thing, there is a solution to that.”
“Can I hear it?”
“Cast a spell that would keep all her abilities dormant. At least until she comes of age. You witches can do that. Right?”
“I don’t know, your majesty. Such a spell would require a lot of physical strength and emotion on a normal basis nut now you wish for me to try it out on a trybrid? It could require a life or even two just to do such.” I said releasing my folded hands as I walked to him.
“Not if you use her own powers, it won’t.” Sofia said giving me a total shock.
What she just said implied that I channel the child’s power and use it against her. Well, that would be easy but it’s a lot more complicated than it sounds.
“Is that even possible?” Frederick asked.
“It is and also very convoluted.” I replied.
“They’re here!!” Sofia said. “The lycans! They’re in the coven as we speak. I can feel their negative and dark flow of magic coming right this way.” She added.
“We need to hurry then!” Frederick claimed as his transformation began.
The army of charging lycans did the trick. My inward anger brought my strength out. I took the spell from Sofia and began casting it. I was able to direct the powers of the young trybrid. Her infancy made the redirection a whole lot easier and faster. In no time, I had the portal open and ready for the trip.
“Get her out of here!” ordered Frederick. “Get her out before it becomes too late.” He added as the sounds created by the lycans became more pronounced.
“Im 'usura potentia quae est ista furor veniensque ad puellam ut quam primum ex portal ambulat in illa, et non claudere ostium. Dixi.” “Venerabili numen, te dare et accipere. Ut rursus cum ei munera pro maledicto constrinxerit nemo potest conteram!” I said as I casted a spell meant to keep her powers latent at least for a decade or two. “It is done.”
“Sofia! Take the child and get her out of here! Go! Go!!” Frederick said as he ran with vampyre speed and stuck his fangs into the chest of a mutant lycan and separated his head and his body with his hands.
“Me? You are asking me to leave you?” Sofia alleged. “To a land where I might not see you again? Why don’t Morgana go? Anyone but me.”
“It hurts my heart more than you know to send you away but there’s no one I would rather entrust her care to than you. I’m sending you because I know and believe that you’ll be a marvelous mother to her.” Frederick smiled. “No matter which ever world, we will always find each other again. Now GO!!!” Frederick said before pushing his lips against Sofia’s and driving her into the portal with a thrust.
“I Love You.”

“The child is down there. Bring her to me and kill whoever stands in your way!” the supreme lycan said pointing towards the chamber where Frederick and Morgana were.
“Hold it freak!” Frederick said running his sword through the head of a mutant lycan.
Frederick and Morgana took them down fighting with anger and grief mixed between themselves as motivators. They both kept fighting until when the supreme lycan came in, in human form.
“Stop!” he commanded and the mutant lycans who had pinned Frederick and Morgana to the wall stood still. “What did you do?” he added when he saw the body of Alessia immersed in the spirit waters.
Instead of an answer, Frederick went into an outburst of laughter.
“You think this is funny?” asked the leader giving Frederick a punch in the face.
“Oww!!” he exclaimed in pain.
He realized that he was in his human form and was easily prone to pain.
“Let’s try that again.” He added transforming to his supreme lycan nature and he gave Frederick a punch more forceful than the first in the gut.
“Ppptt!!” “It doesn’t matter if you punch me in either human or lycan form. The fact remains that you’ll never be able to get those evil hands on the trybrid child.” Frederick said still trying to escape the grip of the mutant lycans pinning him down.
“What makes you so sure? Did you think having this... Having her cast the spell that opens a portal to the human world is going to stop I, or my master from getting the child?” the leader asked gripping firmly the jaws of Morgana.
“You two may be a little wise but my master is wiser and for one thing, having a nice dinner with the vampyre would be something that he’ll look forward to. Don’t you think so?” “Especially when you guys have a lot to catch up on.” He added with a nasty smirk.
“I really wish that I could come by but you know’ I have a kingdom to rule and people to protect from your ‘master’.” said Frederick and immediately, himself, Alessia’s body and Morgana were surrounded by a purple smoke.
By the time the smoke settled down, they were all gone.
“Drats!!” cursed the lycan leader under his voice. “You can hide from me but you certainly can’t hide from him.” He shouted to the air.
