Madeleine smiled as she saw Kayden up on a black mustang.
His favorite and probably only horse he has ever owned.
She exhaled as she walked towards him.
"You really should learn to act more cool. Poor Ben is amazed at how I have that effect on you," Madeleine said.
"Well sorry that I was surprised that my ex-girlfriend is back in Tennessee. I'll try to act like we don't know each other at all," Kayden said.
"Kade, you know that is not what I meant," Madeleine said.
"Of course it is. But what do I expect from a New York girl? Clearly too much," Kayden said and Maddie (as she will be mostky called through the book) exhaled.
"Kayden, I am sorry, okay? But I didn't change. Not that much. The city didn't change me. I'm still the same Tennessee girl who left seven years ago," Maddie said.
"Yeah, right. Tell that to someone who will believe you. I have work," Kayden said and was off.
