My name is Josh and I am a dragon and my job is to protect the Valic Kingdom as my ancestors did.

You might be asking why a dragon is protecting a kingdom, well that's because their kingdom is the most shiniest kingdom and as a dragon, I like shiny things.

"JOSH, HURRY UP AND GET YOUR LAZY BUTT OUT HERE!"

Time for another day protecting my beauty.

I got up from my bed and then changed into my blue suit with my three golden medals that represent loyal, honor and for being a dragon.

SLAM!

I jumped and grabbed my sword but relaxed when I saw my friend Onyx who is already ready to start his day as a guard with his gray suit and a sword in the left of his waist and a gun to his right.

"Why is it taking you so long for you to get ready? You do know what day it is right?"

I stand there trying to remember what day it is today and then looked at Onyx who started to look more annoyed.

"IT'S THE PRINCESS LILITH'S BIRTHDAY!"

"Pft, I knew that" I looked to the side, trying to avoid eye contact "Let's go, we gotta make sure everything is being followed as the king ordered" I grabbed my equipment and ran as fast as I can to get away from Onyx.

I arrived to the back of the castle where the party will be and saw servants running everywhere to get the place ready for princess Lilith's birthday and then Onyx arrived.

After checking everything is going smoothly, me and onyx headed to princess Lilith who should be waking up soon.

Knock knock

"It's me, Josh and Onyx, may we come in?"

"Come in!"

The guards opened the door from the out side and me and Onyx walked in and saw Princess Lilith in her blue dress and her long wavy orange hair loose, sitting on a chair with a mirror infront of her and putting on her make up.

"What brings you two here so early?" She asks as she puts away her make up and got up and started to walk toward us with a bright smile.

We used to hang out a lot when we were little since I always need to be close to the princess to protect her and Onyx who is a noble, used to always visit the castle to play with us and then chose to become a guard to keep the promise to protect princess Lilith.

"You know, trying to keep you distracted like every other year" I don't really see the point of trying to keep the party a surprise when the king has done this every year.

"Hey, don't ruin the surprise" Onyx whispers while hitting me with his elbow on my arm.

"He's right Onyx, it's obviouse that there is going to be a party" She sights "well, what time will it start?"

"The guest will start arriving at 12 and we should bring you to the party at 1" Onyx says with a straight face.

"Alright, do you guys wanna play cards while we wait?" Princess Lilith asks as she walks toward her desk where the cards are placed on top.

We agreed and started playing.
