Chapter 24

Bauer POV

I return to the room where Insanna is preparing to give birth. I managed to find two women that were nurses ten years ago. Something is better than nothing. One other girl tagged along said she had birthed a few cows in her day. Can it really be that different? She was eager to help the woman that set her free. They all want to help Inanna. She deserves their help after she helped them break free from the eleventh-floor hell.

The women go into the room. I wait outside. No way in hell will be in there when that woman starts hurting. I do not want to be there if she decides to bite.

I look in to see how they are progressing. They are working hard to make her comfortable. Jasmine is in complete control. She has a way of taking charge of things. She looks up and sees me. She starts walking to me smiling.

“Hey you,” I say as she walks to me.
