Chapter 1- Kenshin Tanaka

*Slash*, blood starts gushing as the man's torso is cut diagonally by his opponent's sword, a clean and deep wound, but probably no enough to kill him, after all it was just sparring, killing each other was not the goal there.

"Aaaargh! You're good, no doubt you're stronger than me, but why are you running around challenging all the masters, Master Kenshin?" The man lying on the floor asked while trying to close his wound even if only a bit.

"Thank you for your praise Master Yu, you're good too. But about the reason for doing this, i won't tell you, maybe play detective a bit and try finding it by yourself." The one called Master Kenshin had a faint grin on his face, albeit his dark expression showing not happiness but a deep buried sadness.

"Hah-, i guess it just can't be helped, you really changed since that day two years ago, such a weird behavior for you. Can you please call one of my apprentices while going out? I really need some help here." He showed a worried expression, but decided not to inquire further, knowing that would do no good.

Kenshin left without saying another word, but still called an apprentice so they would treat to their master's wounds.

It was already night outside the dojo, the village had a beautiful night-view with lanterns everywhere and a bright moon showering silver light over everything, breathing in a good amount of fresh night air Kenshin walked past the houses going to a mountain.

There was a cave there with light coming from, even from the distance you could see the fire pit inside and a girl in her 12's smiling and running towards Kenshin.

"Dad! You're home! How did it go? Was it a good match? Come come i will treat your wounds, ah i made dinner already so you can eat and recharge your strength." The little girl dragged the strong man inside the cave, it was their temporary house for the week, once they traveled again there would be a new house.

"Haha my little Kyoko, you're always cheerful." His complexion changed, you could see the sadness and worry in his face disappearing, now the grin he showed wasn't contrasting with his face, now it seemed to fit perfectly, he was truly at peace.

You could say they were a weird duo of father and daughter, the facial features he lacked she had, while Kenshin had a simples stern face she had big eyes and the cutest cheeks, truly a beauty shaping, and hair was different too, his hair was a long and smooth hair while her's was really curly. If someone saw them together in any moment they wouldn't say she was his kid, but right now with the simple love they displayed it was easy to see it.

"Hmmm, that smell is good, what have you done for dinner Kyoko?"

"Hehe Dad, your daughter is the best cook ever you know, that's just a soup with rice and some veggies, but of course if i cooked it it's perfect, also i would like some meat tomorrow, you should hunt something Dad." With a super proud expression Kyoko was pouring the soup in two bowls for her and her father.

"Ok dear, i will hunt a big boar tomorrow and we will have a meat feast!"

"Yay! I really love boar meat!" The little girl was ecstatic and jumping around with happiness, food was the way to go while trying to make her happy.

After they had a delicious dinner the daughter carefully took her father's shirt and started examining the wounds. She had lots of experience doing this after every fight he had so it was easy to identify and treat them.

His body had a few small cuts and some parts were swollen from impacts, but the most worrying for sure were the bones you could see with naked eyes, no skin or muscles above them.

"Eeek! Again bones appearing, that's bad Dad." Kyoko looked at the bones with a worried expression while hurriedly treating all the wounds.

"It's no problem, no problem, you know it's always like this but after a bit of your treatment i'm all good." Kissing her in the forehead he was just there smiling at her with a playful expression while trying to look super strong.

"Haha, you look weird trying to show your strength dad, but at least is goes to show you're ok." She burst into laughing for a few seconds and then proceeded for her task carefully.

"Tada! Everything is perfect now, i treated all your wounds." Her agile hands finished bandaging a cut and you could see the lots of other cuts and wounds were already not visible after her caring.

After that they both went to sleep, ending another day.

"Yawn, hey Dad, it's morning already, look at the sunlight filling the cave! The sun is really beautiful today! Aaah! We should go hunting, you said you would hunt a boar for us to eat today right?" Filled with energy the girl was already jumping and shouting right after waking up.

"Huh? You're too loud Kyoko, i wanted to sleep a bit more." With a tired expression Kenshin stood on his feet and started cleaning his face with water to see if that woke him up correctly.

"Ok, lets go out, today we're having boar meat." Patting his cheeks Kenshin headed out the cave with his daughter.

They walked a few minutes through the plains and inside a forest, after wandering a bit in there it was easy to spot a really big boar.

With big tusks and pitch black fur the beast weighted more than 100kg and was already ready for a fight.

"Hey big friend, we will eat you today, thank you for being yummy!" The little girl was already drooling thinking about the meat, poor animal didn't know his faith.

Charging at the two humans with full speed the boar met Kenshin's left hand which grabbed it's head stopping the heavy body.

"Ok, now it's done." The loving father pushed down and the boar's head smashed against the ground with absurd speed, it was dead in an instant and with barely any effort.

"Let's go leave this big guy here in the cave, after that we can go to the lake and play a bit til lunch." Kenshin grabbed the corpse and put it in his shoulders walking home without any haste.

"Yay! That will be good, we can play hide and seek, and throw stones at the lake, and play in the water, you will see how i make this boar the best meal ever!" As always Kyoko hurried excited.

This father and daughter pair was just living day by day, a pretty normal live despite the parent being a master swordsman and all the travels to fight other masters.
