Chapter 32 : Lunae Futurae

My opponent stood on his feet, body shaking with the effort. His eyes were angry, blood-red from the attack I had just made. It was an accidental move, meant only to stun him, but I was still not used to my size and strength and overcompensated.

The trainer came over, his old eyes gazing over the other wolf. David, as I would later learn his name was, chuckled.

“Garven, I thought you were better than that. Guess we’ll have to lower your rank after all.”

Garven’s ears became plastered to the side of his head, his teeth set in a wide snarl.

“Oh, calm down. I was only joking. Lynn here is still far too young to take your place. Though, I would advise tending to those wounds.”

David turned to me and clapped, a sloppy grin on his face.

“Well done!” he exclaimed. “I must say, I don’t think I’ve ever had an apprentice beat that many warriors in one sitting without a scratch on you! That last one was a bit much, but I think Garven got the point.”
