"I'm so glad we don't live in the desert," Danny complained as he returned from the building. "Do you realize it's 94 degrees?"
We were at the rest stop, which was empty. I wondered if it was because of the dragons who liked to play in camouflage or if it was just because few people drove this way. However, Danny was right. It was hot and dry. The heat seemed eager to latch onto you and suffocate you from the inside.
"We won't be here too long," I assure him.
"It's not that bad." Nefera jumped out of the back and looked around. "At least there's a bathroom. How are you feeling?"
