Chapter 33-2 ★ Breaks my heart

The snow crunches under my booted feet, and I stalk to my bike with impatient legs. There's too much energy thrumming through my body. I'm suddenly anxious. West Virginia is a lot closer to my mate. It's a short ride, too. I could make it there in a few hours, check up on Hendrix, and then be back before the sun is up.

I take a deep breath, closing my eyes right through the turmoil. I wouldn't have the strength to leave her again. I couldn't do it.

"Veiler! It has been too long, my friend." A thick, rolling scottish accent calls. I turn to see Fraser stalking towards me in the cold, dark night.

We shake hands roughly. I nod my head at him.

"I'm glad you'll be on our side, that's for damn sure." I reply, gesturing my head at him. "You sure knew how to take down those Nazis."
