Arrival

I took a deep breath before putting my hand on the door handle. It was cold outside even though it was mid-spring. There was snow everywhere. This year our winter had lasted much longer than expected. Much longer. I twitched the door handle and the old wooden door creaked as it opened. The door was heavy and difficult to open. Inside everything was pitch black, which was unusual, since it was bright outside. I wonder if I am in the right place? I took a few unsure steps inside, trying to define my surroundings. "Hello", I yelled slightly nervous. My voice rung in what appeared to be a much bigger house than anticipated. Maybe it was a mansion or rather a castle? "I was informed that I'm staying with you, while my parents are in East Europe", I said in a slightly lower tone. There was no answer coming from within the darkness. Suddenly the door slammed from behind me, and startled, I squealed. "Eek"! "Don't make such a fuss about a door", a dark voice snarled at me. It ran cold down my spine. I hadn't been alone after all. "Who are you", I asked bluntly, though I should perhaps have been more careful. "Who are YOU", they answered angrily. "I have not been informed about anyone staying here", they continued. "My name is Elise, I come from-". "You come from Calais", another voice interrupted me. Suddenly the lights went on, and revealed a stunning mansion, with chandeliers made out of diamonds. Before me two young men stood. One with blonde hair and fierce green eyes, and one with red hair and turquoise eyes. While the blonde was rather scrawny the ginger was muscular. The ginger looked at the blonde with angry eyes. "Michael, If i recall correctly, i DID inform you about our guest coming from France", he said harshly. Michael rolled his eyes, and then put his eyes on me. They felt just like flames burning through my skin. He snorted in disgust, and went into yet another room of the mansion. Never have I experienced such a terrifying look. It seemed, unnatural... I couldn't keep my thought from what i had just experienced. What was his problem. The ginger walked over to me, and gave me a smile. It wasn't a warm smile, but a cold smile. "Forgive my brother. He is not very... happy with visitors", he said. I looked the man in his eyes. They did not radiate the same darkness as Michaels. "My name is Raul. Let me export you to your room, Elise", he continued and took my hand in his. His fingers were ice cold and I couldn't help let out a little gasp. Truly peculiar. From the corners of Raul's eyes, he saw my puzzled expression, and a smile formed on his lips. "She will do", he mumbled. Realizing Raul had spoken I asked, "pardon"? He turned his head towards me and gave me yet another cold smile. "Nothing".

Raul had left me as soon as he had led me to my room. It was much bigger than my room in Calais, and much darker. Every corner was clean, and organized but still, it gave me the creeps. How will I survive in a home like this? For starters, the brothers are rude, and I feel unsafe. And the trip here, was hours long, and there was no sign of any life in miles distance. I jumped into the bed, and I fell asleep in an instance. Perhaps this was a mistake. I felt a chill just before my eyelids closed. A faint knock on my door, died in my sleep.
