14 C 14. The Past 2 (Giant Pot)

I did not blame him. In fact, I support him because they all know my special ability and I use it at home.

And they know that there are other people with questionable morals that seek people like me. Usain is a good example; he has his eyes, hearts and other body parts gouged out by them.

A year later everyone has forgotten about that including me. Well, I doubt if the boss forgot.

It was Wednesday night. Cold outside as it was winter. I draped myself under a blanket playing my PSP Supreme 4. The very latest version.

I was so engrossed playing the best game of the year 'Crystal Feather'. It is about a weak delicious chicken that builds a kingdom of evolved chickens and forbids eating their kind in the whole universe.

Well, that was the story. But in the game, the player will be the chicken or its seven generals.

Around 12:30 a sense of foreboding started affecting my concentration. I left the PSP on the bed and turned on the light.

To me, it was normal, ever since I was a little kid having goosebumps almost every midnight or even worse having nightmares is kinda normal.

There was a certain time that my elder brother, sister or my mother would come to my room till I fell asleep again.

Looking around my room, the feeling is still there. So, I decided to eat something in the kitchen.

On my way there I hear voices speaking. I took a peek, I saw the boss and the lady of the house kissing.

There was a stew on the stove and a recently finished dish on the plate. Perhaps she just cooked something for them, they are now waiting for the stew to finish heating up.

While swaying and kissing they change position. She saw me first and broke free and said trying to hide her blushing, "You hungry?"

"En" I nodded.

The boss constructed a poker face and glared at me. Well... it was hard for me to hold my laughter.

She opened an oven and brought out a cake and cookies. She placed ten cookies and three cupcakes on a plate and handed them to me.

"Your eyes are rainbow again! Come let me take a look," She said staring at my eyes. For some reason, I used my free hand to rub them, but she stopped.

The boss was already beside her. "You have nightmares again?"

"I'm... I think" I stuttered. "It's fine, we know you were playing your new game," she said.

He checked my eyes thoroughly and said, I should go to my elder brother's room and sleep there. I walk through the corridor and reach the room.

The falling of remotes and click sound was heard from the room before everything went silent.

I laughed inside, he must have run to fake sleep, thinking it was inspections from father.

I morphed a poker face to pretend I did not hear anything or else I will be asking for his displeasure, and enter the room.

Perhaps he heard the footsteps aren't as heavy as he thought, so he peeked from under the blanket.

Seeing me he jumped down from the bed. And hit my head with clenched fingers. "What are you doing in my room?"

I stepped back avoiding his second hit and passed the plates of cookies to one hand to rub my throbbing head. "Boss said I should come and sleep."

He stared at my eyes. His anger dissipated a bit and said, "You are feeling scared again or having nightmares?.....

You didn't pray before bed, right?"

Before I answered he said, "You idiot you were not asleep, right?"

I stand there staring at his face. Instead of letting me go to bed silently, he took away the plates and dragged and threw me on the bed.

Well, we have a childish royal rumble, and he wins, as always. He took more than half of the cookies leaving the rest to me and the cake.

After eating them I dragged the blanket covering myself. And it was then I saw a light flash on. Yep, he is going back to what he was doing earlier: playing video games.

I jumped down and stood behind him watching. He put a pause on the game earlier, and then he turned off the TV not the PlayStation. "Go back to sleep!" He said.

"I want to play too. Is this the second season of Celestials From The Void?" I was excited!

"Yes, it is…. Damn it is so good, better than the first season. "

"How so?"

"This one is outside the maze. In this game, anything you expect the earth has become is not true. There are a lot of twists and turns that are so mind-blowing."

He was so excited when he looked at me and thought, then he said, "Go back to sleep. There is gore and horror in this game."

"It is alright, I can handle it."

He pushed me away and said, "Go and sleep, it is midnight now. I might play with you later in the morning, or after you return from school." I can't disobey, so I turn around and jump back to the bed.

With all the excitement of wanting to play the game too, I couldn't sleep immediately. I kept turning under the blanket for half an hour.

When my mind settled, and I felt sleepy, unfortunately for me that dreadful feeling returned.

I tried thinking of something else to dispel it, but it was still there. I wished I had come with my PSP here to play under the blankets; perhaps I will sleep while at it.

Peeking out from the blanket to see if I can sneakily go out to retrieve the game… I stop. There was a silhouette standing beside the bed watching me.

I immediately pretended I was asleep and showed it was just a normal sleep movement.

Hahaha. My idiot brother locked the door after I came here to prevent people from coming in. But he did not know Boss had entered the room to check for me.

He has an exam tomorrow, and he is wasting his time all night playing a game. Well, can't wait till tomorrow. Father will tactfully ask him about things he should have studied.

That what Father usually does, if he expects you to be studying for an exam, and you did not, he will be the lecturer and ask you so many questions about the said exam and if you answered you escaped.

But if you don't, he will push you through conversations until you expose what you have been doing that prevents you from studying properly. Then the punishments will follow!

Well, by all likelihood he will pass. He was the genius of the house.

I watched Boss silhouette when he stood behind elder brother watching him playing the game before turning around, leaving the room. The moment the room closed there was this soft click.

"Go back to sleep. If you want water, check the refrigerator." He said it out of reflexes.

I only giggled and closed my eyes. I don't know perhaps Father did something but I no longer feel that dreadful feeling, and then I close my eyes. I can't wait for tomorrow to play the new game, 'Celestials of the void'

Soon, I drifted to dreamland. And when I woke up, I was in a... Giant black pot!!!
