The wave (7)

This was the first time Rakahn faced this kind of situation.

Although he had trained with Cliff transformed into a bear, for fear of seriously injuring him, Cliff always held back his blows against him.

In other words, he did not have broad expertise in fighting powerful creatures.

But in this brief moment, Rakahn would strike a blow.

A blow that would completely change the course of his life.

It didn't take too long before the sound of his sword rang out.

The world froze, Rakahn saw the hideous head of the abomination rolled on the ground.

[You have killed a monster variant: hobgoblin mage]

[You received a Variant Essence Stone]

So the announcement said.

An avalanche of emotions flooded through his mind; of joy ? Sadness? Or anger? Everything was mixed up in his mind, after all, he had just taken down a creature several ranks above him.

Who would have thought that he would one day be capable of doing that, how would he have dared to face a "monster" when he had not yet awakened.

'Not awake yet huh?'

A smirk appeared on his lips.

"Not for long "

"GET THE FUCK UP!!!" Dahlia barked.

Surprised, Rakahn tumbled backwards by reflex, he narrowly avoided the projectile aimed at him.

'Damn, I got carried away! '

Rakahn realized that in that brief moment when he was lost in thought, the remaining hobgoblin had thrown a tantrum as he watched his companion be decapitated before his eyes.

The hideous creature, no longer distinguishing between its allies and enemies, rained projectiles of fire in all directions.

Some unfortunate soldiers, apparently too slow to be able to react, were burned as they were within range of the nasty creature's projectiles.

The hideous creature let out a furious roar, its crimson eyes burning with anger.

Dahlia pushed herself forward, swung her weapon around and parried an attack.

She got closer like this while dodging attacks only if it was necessary.

Not wanting to be forgotten, while the creature's attention was focused on Dahlia, he swung his khopesh wanting to cut her back.

But…

Unfortunately, the creature wasn't so stupid as to get caught in the same blow twice.

As he cast spells with his left hand at Dahlia, he used his right to bombard Rakahn with fire projectiles.

Rakahn clicked his tongue in disgust.

"Tsk! We can't fool you twice…right?"

Rakahn's lips curled, forming a maniacal smile.

'Well, that's what will be your downfall.'" he said.

The hideous creature had calculated everything well, even if his companion who protected him had fallen, he had managed to; not only blocked them but also attacked them.

But despite all these calculations, he had forgotten one thing.

His attackers were not two, but three.

As he bombarded his two attackers, a long blade emerged from his abdomen.

Taken by surprise, the creature let out a muffled cry, with a quick turn he sent his attacker flying with a kick.

Akumu had just been thrown backwards again.

"Didn't I tell you this will be your downfall!!?" Rakahn mocked.

The hobgoblin mage had been distracted by Akumu for a few seconds, but those unfortunate seconds were enough for Dahlia to attack.

She steeled her entire body, sprinting at breakneck speed, she launched herself over her target.

Putting all her strength into her arms, she brought her weapon down on him.

The beast was cut in two, without any resistance.
