Remember when Arthur was calling me outside yesterday? It was because there's a new girl in town! Her name is Amanda and she is a social worker from Dagonia. Mother and Father invited her because they were impressed with the work she's done. The best part is that she's my age, and she's living in the castle! She and a few other boy social workers. That part I'm not happy about.
Yesterday, when I went to welcome her and the others, I was literally speechless. She was so beautiful, scratch that, she is beautiful, gorgeous and kind from what I could tell. She has long, straight, black hair that fall till her waist. Her skin is so pale and beautiful, like Snow White. Her eyes are like two peacock blue sapphires, and her lips are bright red. Her voice is just so sweet, but, at the same time, so dark.
She was wearing a long, red trench coat. It looked like it was made for her. It fit her thin body perfectly. Along with that, she was wearing red over-the-knee boots. Her name fits her perfectly, she is worthy of love.
Anyway, I asked mother about her. Here's what she said:
"Kenric and I were talking and we decided that you need to learn the ropes of social events. Like if you ever have to host a party, you should know where to start."
Seriously? They invited a whole group of tweens just so that I know how to throw a party!? A party's a party. Balls are Balls. You can't have invited people from another country just so that I know how to have a fundraiser or throw a ball. She's not telling me something.
"A party is a party. What are you not telling me?" I ask her.
"Social events and we thought you should know how to talk to a girl." she says.
"What about Alina? I talk to her everyday." I ask.
"Alina? Count Albert's daughter? Darling, she doesn't count. You're trained how to speak to her. Amanda is a commoner but not quite a commoner. Her work makes her arise from the title of a peasant but doesn't make her rise so much that she can reach to the title of a Lady. This special feature of hers makes her perfect for you to learn how to make small talk." she says.
"So what are you trying to say? Am I supposed to be with her the whole day?"
"Yes. Precisely. She is here to prepare for the fundraiser prior to Independence Day and to help make our Independence Day more special and unique. You are to help her and her group with this." she says.
"Right. When am I supposed to start talking to her?" I ask.
"You can go right now. Help her get settled in. Don't forget to ask her about all the other people she's travelling with." she says.
I run out of the room. How I wish I had more parenty parents. Can't they for once treat me like their son and not their subject? You are to do this and you are supposed to act this way. Go to this ball and don't embarrass us, cut the ribbon here and walk here, don't go there, come here, don't learn the national dance, do this, you don't have time to be a child. I wish I could tell them that I've had enough. I'm going to Amanda's room. I'll write later.
