She bowed her head and thanked him one last time before going back to her place. Her door needed some repairing, after all.
"Hey, Grim, what is the big idea? I do not think you realize this…but we kind of need the money, we are already behind on the rent as it is…" Dart said.
"I think you've forgotten exactly where the money which is supposed to go to our rent payment actually went towards." Grim had embers of anger in his eyes staring at his backpack.
Dart gulped. "R-Right…" the baby dragon nervously scratched his head.
"Also, it would not feel right accepting payment for a job that we did not actually do. Isn't that right, lady?" Grim said as he glanced at the woman sitting under the shade of the trees.
She did not respond at all.
Grim angrily walked towards her, but was stopped as she got up.
"Why didn't you accept her reward, boy?" She asked him.
"You already know why. You were the one who finished it off and fought it effortlessly, it was not me." Grim replied with a sour expression on his face.
The elven boy had a hard time admitting his shortcomings, such as him unable to actually face against that chimera earlier.
"I beg you! Please teach me how to make use of wind such as you in combat! I know this is my second time asking, but no matter how shameless I might look like, I just want to get stronger!" Grim shouted.
Dart's eyes widened. "Wow. This is the first time he actually admitted that…" the baby dragon had a look of surprise etched on his face.
"Go home to your parents, boy. I am sure they are worried about you prancing on around here trying to kill chimeras you can't even lay a finger on." She said as she shook her head.
"That's exactly why I have to train. They are not here yet, I want to show them I took care of myself and that I did not need them. Me and my grandpa could do it all…if he was still here." Grim's enthusiastic tone quickly died down.
