An Invitation

Making herself at home in the residence of the Kawakami family at the Kawakami Temple, Huang Luan is enjoying some tea while complaining to the Grandmaster of the Temple, Kawakami Tesshin. The contents of her complaints, its nothing more than her hurling insults at the administration of her previous school for expelling her.

Sitting seiza on the opposite side of the table, Tesshin places his teacup down after taking a small sip, "Why do you always come here whenever you get expelled? This tea isn't cheap," he says, shaking his head. "Although I can't say I mind your presence here. If I did, then I wouldn't just be old, I'd be an old fool for rejecting some tea with a cute girl. Even if your appearance doesn't match your age."

While laying on her side, Huang Luan sighs as she says, "If not for that last sentence, I might have taken you seriously. Whatever, I ain't in the mood to keep complaining."

Taking another sip of his tea, Tesshin says, "We both know that your usual conduct wouldn't last in that school. It was a prep school, it's no surprise you were expelled before the first semester ended. I believe this should be the fastest expulsion you've gotten. You should spend some time in the mountains to temper your mind."

"No thanks, I know exactly what I'm doing. But yeah, I get I was pushin' their buttons, though I didn't expect them to be so stingy that they'd evict from the dorms as well, so now I'm homeless again. I think I'll be staying here for a bit until I decide what to do next," Huang Luan says, turning over to lay on her back.

Watching the youthful-looking Huang Luan laying on her back, playing with her hair, Tesshin is sure that if he didn't know better and someone were to tell him that the age of the girl in front of him matched her appearance then he'd believe it without any doubt or hesitation. Unfortunately, the person in front of him isn't a small and innocent little girl, but a delinquent old monster with a history dating as far back as the very beginning of human history. 'Well, at least she looks cute… when she keeps her mouth shut.'

Turning towards Tesshin with a soul-piercing gaze, Huang Luan says, "I get the feeling you're thinking something rude."

"Hahaha, not at all," Tesshin laughs, brushing off Huang Luan's accusation.

"Say, Moyomoyo is in her third year at Kawakami Academy, right?" Huang Luan asks.

"That's right, Momoyo is in her third year while Kazuko and the others are in their second. I heard they added two cute new members to their group not too long ago. The eldest daughter of the Sword Saint and the daughter of that German Officer, what was his name again, oh, Frank Friedrich. According to the agreement with the Kuki's I can't go into all the details, but the Kuki Corporation is about to send a batch of special students to Kawakami Academy. There's also another student coming as well, the cute poster girl from the west, Natto Komachi. All these girls have nice bodies, I'm looking forward to the PE classes in the future. I think you could learn a thing or two from them."

"Insulting the Grand Sovereign's size is Prohibited in this room," Huang Luan says in a stern voice, utilising the power of the Justiciar Pathway.

Calmly drinking his tea, Tesshin says, "You should learn to take a joke once in a while."

"Why do I get the feeling you weren't really joking then?" Huang Luan says as she returns to messing with her hair.

"Luan, since you're going to be here for a while, why don't you enter Kawakami Academy?" Tesshin asks.

"Sure," Huang Luan says, not even bothering to turn her eyes.

"Hmm, I figured you decline, but that's nothing… new… wait, you agreed?" Tesshin asks, opening his usually closed in surprise.

"En, I figured it was about time I took a look at that school of yours. Since it seems like something interesting is about to happen this is as good a time as ever," Huang Luan says.

In Between blinking her eyes, Tesshin disappeared from Huang Luan's sight, and by the time she blinked again he's back in his previous position, laying four papers on the table.

"Would you like to transfer into as a first, second, or third year student? Or would you rather join as a teacher?" Tesshin asks.

Taking a look at the four papers, Huang Luan finds that they've already been filled out ahead of time with nearly all the required information. "Just how long have you had these prepared for?" Huang Luan asks, with one eyebrow raised, giving Tesshin a disapproving look.

But he ignores the harsh look on Huang Luan's face, "Don't worry about it."

For a moment, neither of the two say anything before Huang Luan drops the matter and says, "I'll enrol as a second year student. But I don't intend to change my behaviour just because you're the principal."

"That's fine, but can you at least limit your smoking and not do so while inside the building."

"No promises. Anyways, do you have an empty room I can use or do I need to make it myself?"

"I'll have someone send you off to the guest room later. Hmm… the last battle of the East-West Exchange War with Tenjin Academy is taking place tonight, the battle between the second years. You'll officially be a student of Kawakami Academy by then, what are your thoughts about participating?"

"I don't mind showing up. But I don't think I'll actually take part in it unless my new classmates are about to lose."

Tesshin nods, "That's fine, I'll be heading to the school now. One of the monks will arrive and bring you to the guest room shortly. Oh, and the location of the East-West Exchange War is at the factories." he says before walking out of the room.

No longer than a minute after Tesshin left, one of the monks at the temple arrives to guide Huang Luan to the guest room. Upon arriving, Huang Luan slides the door open and finds the room to have some basic furnishings, a bureau to store clothes, a small desk, a futon set, and a large closet in the wall.

"Do you need any help with moving your belongings, Miss..."

"Huang Luan, that's my name. And I won't be needing any more assistance, so you should return to your training."

The Kawakami monk simply nods and cups his fists as he turns to leave. Moving into her new room and sliding the door shut behind her, Huang Luan reaches into her pants pocket and tosses a bunch of spare clothes into the bureau before jumping into the futon.

Normal pockets shouldn't be able to hold the many things Huang Luan brought out, but by making use of her abilities, Huang Luan's pockets carry all of her personal belongings as well as the many items she's collected over her long life. By distorting the space within her pockets, she's expanded them to be able to sizes beyond even the largest of storage facilities.

As Huang Luan reaches for her phone, but before she can grab it a blue holographic screen appears in her vision.

[Dimensional Chat Group System has been activated.]

"... eh?"

Seeing this, Huang Luan's first thought is, 'Who the hell is playing this prank?' But then she remembered something from a long time ago. Right before she was reincarnated, that God said it would give her an unknown gift that would arrive at an unspecified time, 'Could this be it? Isn't it a bit late to come at this point?'

After deciding that it probably isn't someone's prank or some kind of trap from some existence on her level, Huang Luan starts exploring the features of her new Dimensional Chat Group. Although all the features are locked until she sends out the seven invites available to her, she can still see the various locked features. These include the obvious chatting function, the shop function, a basic daily sign-in mechanic that awards a random amount of points from 1 to 500 to be used in the shop, a function to bind the Chat Group to a phone or other similar device, a streaming function, a gifting option, an option to spend points to visit other group member's worlds for a certain amount of time, and finally a special function that brings the user to separate Group Space where all members of the Chat Group can gather and speak in person.

Checking the time, Huang Luan sees that she has plenty of time before she needs to leave so she decides to send out the seven invitations.

And after a few more seconds, a total of eight people appear in the chat room.
