Chapter eleven

Lucifer stared in slight terror at the giant beast that had invaded his peaceful clearing, its hulking mass right outside his castle with its giant beady eyes looking at his structure in curiosity.

The creature's limbs alone were easily 10 meters long each, and each adorned with three razor-sharp claws that stretched a meter long each. The lethality of these claws were easily demonstrated by the carnage they had wrought upon the forest as the sloth had made its way towards Lucifer´s castle.

Because this Giant sloth was the very same that had triggered lucifers first bout of accidental magic, but the circumstances had changed.

No longer was Lucifer defenseless, he wasn't confused nor as. unexperienced as he once was at their first encounter!

No, Lucifer was now equipped with his demonic runes, the experience of countless battles with this forest's inhabitants, and most importantly he now had a rough cloak of fur adorning his body!

He most certainly wasn't the scared prey he once was. So this time he wouldn't run, no he would defeat this past weakness of his.

With these thoughts running through his head, Lucifer´s eyes steeled as he summoned his wand and started running through countless Demonic Runes in his head.

The sloth's beady eyes moved from the castle to the figure in front of it, almost as if sensing the battle intent that the devil in front of it was emitting.

It could feel the actual danger to its life as it watched the devil summon a strange white rod, its reaction to the fearless challenge that what it initially ignored as an insignificant bug compared to the strange black structure in front of it was a loud grumble as it started to release its aura.

This aura was the reason for its hegemony in the brutal wilderness that this continent consisted of, it had allowed it to slay mighty beasts whose strength would otherwise squash it like a bug due to its unique attribute.

It would impose its nature into the minds of all that fall into its auras allure, slowing down their senses and body if they were of significant strength and for those unfortunate enough to truly fall victim to the sloth´s aura?

Eternal sleep.

It observed as the devil in front of it was hit full force with its sloth aura, watching as the laziness-inducing effect started to take hold.

Lucifer started panicking, as he felt something slam into his mind palace when the giant sloth roared. A quick check swiftly made the situation even more dire as he saw how everything in his mind palace was moving significantly slower! everything from the everswirling Demonic Power in his core, to the countless runes!

His Demonic Power that usually answered to his call with an eager ease now felt sluggish and hesitant to answer his call!

So with his magic utterly useless, his wand now served as nothing more than a 20 inch long dagger of exceptional beauty.

"Fuck, with my magic gone I'm going to be fighting with barely 1% of my full capabilities" Lucifer sighed in frustration, as he really wished he hadn't sent Shiro out to hunt earlier.

"My body isn't exempted from this fuckers aura either, I feel as if I just finished a hard day at work for fuck sake!" Lucifers ruby eyes were furious as he stared at the Sloth that he could almost swear was smirking.

But even though lucifer was severely hampered by the aura, and his best choice would be to escape and plan a better way of attack, his pride that had swelled during his time in the forest decimating any and all foe had reared its head!

"Who do you think you are? You thing this puny setback will assure you victory?" His mouth twisted in a snarl, revealing his sharp white teeth as his fighting intent only soared at the challenge the sloth would bring his blood!

The sloth looked at Lucifer in surprise that he had such a minisucle reaction to its aura that it had seen fell even dragons!

Lucifer didn't stay idle as the sloth was distracted by its surprise, His powerful legs exploded in momentum as he sprinted towards the behemoth standing in front of his castle, his speed even slowed easily surpassed the slow speed of the sloth as he leaped onto its giant back before it even had the chance to break out of its suprise.

Lucifer´s face as he grabbed hold of the sloths grreasy long fur was truly maniacal as his grin stretched from cheek to cheek as he felt Shiro coming towards them at with the speed and strength of a train.

"HAHAHAHAHAH" he laughed out loud as he started climbing up its oily back, the sloth was shaking side to side as it tried to get the devil off its back, its initial surprise was starting to turn into desperation as its enemy was located in the one spot its giant limbs couldt bend and reach!

Lucifer had now reached the behemoths head as his eyes glinted in morbid amusement as he raised his right hand holding his wand in hand, ready to pierce his foe´s skull and dealing a fatal blow to this bastard.

The smile on his face froze as the sloth in a desperate attempt of saving its life released the strongest sloth aura it could.

Its effect was immediate as Lucifer who had been staying awake through pure fury and and pride felt his consciousness slip away from the realm of the waking, his eyes losing their glow as they rolled into the back of his head, and his body that was standing ready to pierce through the sloths head fell down, the impact of his body impacting the ground was a sound that was comfortingly familiar to the sloth as it stared in relief at the strange devil that had honestly scared it for a bit.
