Chapter 3

"I guess, Granny Eugene told me that this perfume was a guaranteed hit and that you would most definitely like it…" Jeanie answered honestly. Vivi's grandma Victoria, who she called Granny Eugene, had gotten wind of her plan to bond with Chad after graduation and gave her a small vial for her graduation present telling her to wear it tonight since Chad would absolutely love it. "Do you like it?"

"Yeah, I love it, and you…" He growled alluringly in Jeanie's ear. He was dying to get his girl alone but since he had more sense than most alphas, he was reigning in that desire very tightly.

Jeanie blushed furiously at that casual way that Chad said he loved her. Chad was good at just being his usual charming self and it was one of the reasons she fell head over heels, almost literally for him. The day they liked to refer to as their fated beginning, she had tripped over her too long maxi skirt and nearly fell down the last few steps at Vivi's house. But instead of falling, Chad had scooped her up so smoothly and had spun her around and set her down all in one fluid movement with one good arm, might she add! It had been such a magnificent performance and she never broke eye contact with him during the whole thing either.

Chad was also a talented dancer. He was not only skilled in ballet, but hip-hop dancing as well and in their ballet pageant they had been in when she was a freshman, he had been the Cavelier to her role as the Sugar Plum Fairy. Since the role involved lifts of her character, they had practiced in class so much, but he had been a complete and total gentleman about the way he touched her before they started to date. It was nice that he respected that about her. But boy did she also love him after they started to date. He still respected her but found little ways of caressing her hand or waist before or after a lift that told her volumes about how he felt about her.

Although when Audrey, the queen bee of the school who had been Chad's childhood friend once upon a time, figured out they were dating, she went off the deep end and caused an even bigger ruckus in school about them. By this time though, she had only been out of the detention center for like a week and she found her old group girls in her little clique completely dismantled. The girls all had been transferred to other schools in the district and some were sent cross country and those were only the ones that hadn't been detained, for one reason or another, by the EEA. So, because of this, her power was greatly diminished, and nothing came of it besides her getting a demerit for creating a ruckus in the halls.

"What are you thinking about, Jeanie?" Chad asked as he noticed her long silence and faraway look in her eyes. He was always sensitive to her moods, so he could tell whatever she was thinking was making her mood sour a bit.

"Sorry, I was just thinking back to the hell that my freshman year was and what happened to both me and Vivi that year."

"It wasn't all bad, was it? I mean after all; you met me and the gang?" Chad asked, worried for a second that she was second guessing their relationship.

"Of course, it wasn't all bad! I met you and Vivi and the rest of our friends that year! No matter what happens, I will never regret meeting you or everyone else! I have no idea what you saw in me at first! I was such a weirdo back then!"

"I happen to have a little soft spot for weirdos…" Chad chuckled and nuzzled Jeanie even though her pheromone perfume was a little intoxicating. He was driving himself crazy, but he just couldn't resist her scent mixed with it.

"Do you, now? I wonder how I got so lucky to have caught your eye!" Jeanie laughed and glanced around before sneaking in a quick peck on Chad's lips. She kept it tame, because she could tell that Chad was already slightly aroused and she didn't want to have to explain why her boyfriend was hiding from everyone.

"I always had my eye on you, Jeanie, always. Even before you became an omega, I liked you and wanted to tell you how I felt, but I was too chicken. Then things at the dance happened and you nearly got hurt and became the wonderful and beautiful omega gal you are today. I would have found you beautiful and attractive even if you hadn't become one. But I was gonna be damned if anyone else was going to put their filthy hands all over a treasure like you! I was determined to protect you no matter what!"

"I'm glad you did, 'cause I was already attracted to you and when you protected me, and then all the little things you've done since, just cemented that attraction and love further into my heart. You are my Chadley, my one and only Chad, and I love you." Jeanie stated while looking into Chad's eyes. She watched as his alpha came out for just a second, before he tamped it back down and she smiled. His control was like no one else she had ever met when it came to their secondary genders, and it was just one of many things she found to love about him.

"Eww!" Atreus snickered.

"Get a room!" Artemis called as he too snickered.

"Boys! Leave them alone! It's not polite to eavesdrop!" Vivi called after her now 9-year-old twin brothers. They were in that awkward age where any romance either sent them into a fit of giggles and or disgust. It was funny sometimes, but not at the expense of her friends.

"It's alright, Vivi, we should get back to the party and their timely interruption was probably for the best." Chad said amicably. He didn't mind the boys' statements since he knew they didn't mean it in a bad way; it was just part of growing up that the curiosity of those around you were doing even if you didn't particularly like it. He would give them a couple of years tops before they started to like romance given their attitudes about it now.

After that the after-party went well without a hitch and was probably the lamest graduation and after-party any of the other kids had ever attended, but what could they expect when it was hosted by the Bartley and Hendrix families. Nothing was going to go wrong at an event with them around since they had the power of the EEA at their disposal. Especially since most of the two families were here along with a whole bunch of other parents or guardians of the rest of the kids in their graduating class.

It was the night of their graduation and the after-party had ended just a little while ago. Chad had driven Jeanie to the townhouse that had been rented for their heat and rut period. She had already packed her bag to stay the next few weeks here, so it had already been placed in his car before her graduation ceremony today. When he arrived at the small house, he got out and went around to help her out of his car, before he went and fetched her bag from the trunk.

"Wow, I still can't believe that the Hendrix's and your Granddad rented this place for us!" Jeanie exclaimed as she walked up the steps to the front door and waited for Chad to come and unlock the door.

"Jeanie just put your thumb on the door handle, it should already be registered to your biometrics and the passcode is our anniversary." Chad called as he quickly pulled his girlfriend's suitcase from the trunk.

"Really? Is that why you had me come here last week? Besides to show it off?" Jeanie laughed and did as Chad instructed, when prompted, combined with her thumbprint, the door chimed and unlocked, before an AI voice rang out, "Welcome Home!" as the door swung open.

"Yeah, I heard that there were three ways of unlocking the door and so I messed around with the entry system and set it up for us. I also have the traditional keys if for some reason the keyless entry malfunctions…"
