Their Reactions

"Who Are you talking to?" Aiden suddenly heard a voice that snapped him out of his daze. Turning to the source of the voice, Aiden saw Ace looking at him with a strange look his face.

"No one!" Aiden replied walking past Ace, "I was just trying to remember what I just researched on!"

"Hmm, okay. It's late we should probably go home now." Ace said after glancing at his watch before quickly following Aiden.

"Uhn, " Aiden merely nodded.

Aiden and Ace walked out of the lean corridor together, entering the main hall at almost the same time.

Chelsea simply glanced at them for a second before focusing back on the book she was reading.

"You took longer than you said you would!" She said.

"Uhn, I don't remember giving a time frame!" Aiden said, "Moreover, I spent more time the last time I came to do research here!"

"Hmm, are you leaving?" Chelsea asked a second later.

"Yeah, we have to leave. It's late after all," Aiden said heading towards the fridge in the library.

The fridge unlike the normal ones used in the past, was embedded in the wall. Aiden didn't know how it really worked but he had a slight idea.

All he knew was that you jut type in the name of one of the available drinks and the fridge provides it. It was as simple as that.

"Uh... You don't have any lemon juice, today?" Aiden asked.

"Yeah" Chelsea answered not bothering to raise her head.

Ace stood with a blank look on his face. Ever since they entered the hall, he hand even been given a chance to speak. The atmosphere felt slightly awkward to him.

He felt as if he was been left out.

As for Aiden he slowly scanned through the list of drinks available. When he didn't find anything that he wanted, he simply typed in 'water'.

A bowl-lije panel shot out of the wall with a bottle of water in it. Aiden merely grabbed it and turned to Chelsea.

"I will be leaving then. See you at the school grounds next two days," Aiden said before beckoning Ace to follow him.

Just like that, Ace and Aiden simply walked out of the library, each in their own thoughts as they walked down the pedestrain walkway.

As for Chelsea, she raised her head and looked at the door after Ace and Aiden left.

"He is just like him. Hopefully, his talent isnt very bad!" Chelsea sighed.

Night time....

The night arrived quickly, shrouding the world in a cloak of darkness. The crisp air carried the scent of damp earth and distant smoke, while the sound of rustling leaves and chirping crickets filled the silence creating a peaceful atmosphere.

The moon shown dimly colouring the sky with a shade of silver and gray. Even though it's light wasn't as bright as the sun, its magnificence was the same or even greater.

Under the dim light of the moon walked two teenagers who seems to stick out like how the moon stuck out among the stars.

These two teenagers were Aiden and Ace. At this moment, they were both walking home.

Yet, Ace had a frown on his face. Ever since they stepped out of the library, Aiden had been this way. It was as if something had changed when he went to do the research.

They were friends after all, and if they were left together, they would definitely start talking about something. However, the situation between them didn't seem to highlight their friendship at all. To Ace it felt suffocating; the silence.

Aiden on the other hand looked absolutely absent minded. If he knew what Ace was thinking now, he would have burst laughing by now. He was too preoccupied to notice anything though.

He was trying his best to organise everything he had learnt. Not only that, he had to deal with something that cause him even more headaches.

"Hmm, I want you to be very diligent during your training!" Ariel said.

"HM!"

Ariel had been talking nonstop after they stepped out of the library. She kept talking about some rules he had to follow if he was going to be her student. At first, be kept up with it.

However, he was starting to feel annoyed by the constant barrage of words too.

"Hey, Aiden, did something happen?" Ace suddenly asked snapping Aiden off his daze.

"Nah, nothing happened! I am just a bit stressed out!" Aiden said with a smile. Just from taking a glance at Ace's face, he could already tell what was going through his mind.

"Oh, okay," Ace nodded.

"Anyway, how did your conversation with Chelsea go?" Aiden asked trying his best to ignore Ariel's random rumblings.

"It went quite well, " Ace's face immediately brightened when he heard this, "I was able to learn alot of things about her. Why are you asking me about it? Could it be that you are jealous?"

"Sigh," Aiden sighed, "I am not interested in her the way you think I am!"

"I can tell!" Ace nodded his head happily wrapping his hand around Ace's neck as he joikingly punched his chest.

"After all, there is a no way you would do that to a friend, right?"

Aiden merely shook his head knowing what Ace was thinking about.

"I won't. Anyway, I am already at home!" Aiden said as he pointed at the building next to them.

"Oh, okay. I will leave you then. Hehe," Ace laughed before heading home.

Aiden just shook his head at his friends actions. Ace had always been this way. Aiden wasn't even sure how he would feel when he came to know that he wasn't the friend he knew.

"Ah, let's forget about them and deal with what is present!" Aiden sighed as he opened the door.

Surprisingly, he saw both his parents and Brianna watching T.V in the mail hall.

"Did she give us sometime?"

"She did give us sometime.... She gave us two days!" Aiden said waiting for his parents reaction.
