Ranks in Mortal Realm

Three hours later...

"Sigh... That took longer than expected!" Aiden said as he stretched.

Standing up from the desk, he proceeded to walk towards the main hall. As he did, he started to reflect on what he had just learnt.

He had learnt a lot of things in the three hours that he spent in the room.

Some of the things he learnt were very comforting and others were not so comforting. Among the many things that he had learnt, a few things stood up.

The first of all these things was the information about the Mortal realm. It was the first link so he decided to watch was there first.

Moreover, if he was to be in any realm, it would be that. Therefore he focused his attention on the manual (article) for the Mortal realm. After all, the information on the Ascension realm and Saint realm was limited anyways whilst the information on the Mortal realm wasn't.

Just like the first article explained, the second article did the same and even explained much deeper.

According to what he learnt, the Mortal realm was the first realm among the three realms as well as the weakest. Just as its name suggests, all those in this realm were confined to the limits of a mortal.

That is, they could simply not do something that people in the Ascension or Saint realm could do. Those realms were considered above the limits of Mortals.

Just like any other realm, the Mortal realm had nine sub-ranks.

Each rank had a name to describe what a Mage gained in that rank. These are the list of the ranks from the weakest to highest:

[

1. Elementary rank

2. Nascent Rank

3. Earth rank

4. Origin rank

5. Sky rank

6. Low True Mortal rank

7. Mid-True Mortal rank

8. High True Mortal rank

9. Peak mortal rank

]

These were the nine ranks under the Mortal realm. However, that wasn't the end of the power scaling as each rank also had three levels under it.

These sub-ranks were, from lowest to highest: Low, mid and high followed by the name of the rank.

Aiden was greatly annoyed when he found out about this. At first, he thought that he would just have to climb 3 realms to become the strongest person in the universe. However, soon he learnt of the ranks. He still accepted it and thought he would just have to climb 27 ranks and 3 realms to become the strongest.

Yet, soon enough, he learnt of the sub-ranks. This almost tripled the number of ranks he had to climb. If it was the Mortal realm that had only ranks with sub-ranks, he would be okay, however apparently, these sub-ranks were also the same in the Ascension and even the Divine Realm!

This made him greatly infuriated as he now had to climb 81 times to become the absolutely strongest. Why was the levelling system in this world so complicated?

Although Aiden researched the levelling system of mages, he didn't forget to search about things like how to activate your power source to use magic, and also the name of the Academy they were going to.

He found this information relatively easy. The first one, about how to activate your power source was to help him use magic. The information he got was pretty straight forward and he decided to try out the steps later.

As for the name of the Academy, they were going to, he found out that it was the same as the one he was thinking about. The Four Seasons Academy.

*************

Aiden continued to walk towards the main hall so he could pick Aiden up and go home. By this time, it was already late.

"Hey, Aiden,"

Just then, Aiden suddenly heard a voice making him turn himself. however, he didn't see anyone there confusing him greatly.

The voice he heard was very familiar to him but he didn't remember where he last heard. Shaking his head, he turned planning to leave when he heard the voice again. Yet this time, he immediately recognised the voice.

"Have you really forgotten about my voice after this short time frame?" A feminine voice sounded in Aiden's ears angrily.

"Ariel, you can speak?"
