"Did I say something wrong?" Aiden couldn't help but ask when he saw Chelsea's bizarre expression.

Aiden had known Chelsea for a long time and even though she was slightly older than him, their relationship had been great so far.

Due to his close relationship with her, Aiden is able to easily read her expressions and understand them.

Just from the expression that she just made, Aiden realized that he must have said something bad.

Hearing Aiden's question, Chelsea calmly shook her head.

'What is wrong then?' Aiden pondered. If he didn't say something that offended her, then why would she be looking at him with such a bizarre expression?

Seeing Aiden's confused face, Chelsea chuckled before saying, "Truthfully, you haven't said anything bad. It's just that I think you are too ignorant for a nerd who has been visiting the library everyday!"

*Ge Deng!*

Aiden's heart skipped a beat when he heard Chelsea's words. Even so, he couldn't blame her. After all, it is true that he has been visiting the library often in his previous world.

Since this world was an alternate universe, he was sure that same logic applied here too. If he was to always visit the library but still be ignorant, then what has he been doing when he visited?

However, no one could blame him. After all, he transmigrated into this world. He was still ignorant about many things in this world. Moreover, unlike the people who transmigrated in the books and comics he read, he didn't have the memories of his past self. Due to all these factors there is no way that he would claim that he was very knowledgeable about this world.

"Hehe, I don't come here to read books about magic a lot. I only come here to read books about programming and its related stuff," Aiden chuckled and said after thinking of a quick excuse, " Also, I don't have the ability to use magic yet so why should I waste my time on that?"

Aiden felt that what he was saying was right. After all, what is the use of learning something that he couldn't use?

"Oh, I see. That makes sense as well. Even so, this is common knowledge. To be ignorant about this...." Chelsea said before explaining, " Either way, the reason why this is happening is simple. it is because you are made of mana."

'Me? Made of mana? What the hell are you sprouting?'

Aiden wanted to say. However, he restrained himself and continued to listen.

"In this world, everything is made up of mana. Mana is the energy force that drives everything in the universe. Mana is just like matter and even though matter makes up only 5% of everything in the universe, Mana is different. Mana is the main power source of everything in the universe," explained Chelsea.

"Oh... "

Listening to Chelsea, Aiden seemed to have come to a realization.

Even though he didn't understand most of the things Chelsea said, he still understood the crux of her words.

If mana was truly just like matter, then it is understandable that the magic crystal would try to also suck the mana from him!

"Either way, I have to leave you. I only came to see your reaction. I am assuming you know how to use the computers right?" Chelsea said all of a sudden.

"Hmm," Aiden nodded.

Come on, he was a programmer after all, if he wasn't able to use a computer then who could?

"Okay, I will be leaving," Chelsea said before turning and leaving Aiden who immediately set his eyes on the magic core in the middle of the room.

The magic core looked just like a floating blob of water. However, it gave out a very refreshing feeling.

"Time to get to work!"

Aiden said as he proceeded towards one of the tables in the room.

The magic crystal was located in a huge crystal ball. From the outside, the crystal ball looked very fragile but Aiden could tell that the thing was very strong. So strong that Aiden doubted a later could even penetrate through.

Connected to the crystal ball were wires, which seemed to carry energy from the cables. These wires were then connected to the tables around the hall. The tables were very big and Adien realized that ten people could sit around these tables comfortably.

Sitting down, Aiden proceeded to look around.

"Okay, how does the computers here work?"

If Chelsea was to hear what Aiden was saying, she would probably slap him to death.

Weren't you the one bragging about the fact you are a programmer? Where did all the knowledge go?

Aiden claimed that he knew how to use the computers but it turns out that, what he was saying wasn't true at all. He was still ignorant about how to use the computer.

However, Aiden found no leeway around it. Chelsea had began to suspect him. Moreover, he had claimed that he came here to learn programming. If he was to all of a sudden claim that he didn't know how to use the computers here, what would she think? After all, what kind of programmer didn't know how to use the computer?

After looking around for a while, Aiden found a red button with the word 'on' in the middle of the table.

Seeing the button, Aiden clicked on it. The moment he did that, a holographic image of a computer set appeared in front of him.

"Incredible!"

Aiden exclaimed clearly surprised by the mechanics behind the holographic computer.

If Aiden was to guess, he would probably say that the way the computer worked was simple. According o what he was seeing, it seemed like by clicking the button, the desk scans around for a human being before projecting a holographic computer towards the human around.

Even though this concept seemed simple, the implementation must be very difficult! Aiden found it hard that such an incredible technology would be found in a library.

'It must be due to the magic crystal!'

Aiden uttered after seeing the holographic computer.

"Either way, I must get to work!"

Aiden said as he got to work learning about the history of this world and the necessary things needed to exist here.

*******

"Ah, I finished it much earlier than I thought," Aiden mumbled as he exited the library.

Looking at the sky, Aiden realized that it was already dark. He couldn't help but sigh ruefully.

'As expected of the library search feature, it was able to help me organise information much faster,'

Aiden thought as he started to head home. Aiden had expected his research to take him onto the middle of the night. Maybe, it might even take him the entire night for him to finish his research.

Due to these reasons, he had called his parents to inform them about his late arrival.

However, never in his wildest dreams would he have realized the library search feature would speed up things so quickly. He never realized that having accurate information could improve his speed so drastically.

Initially, Aiden's plan was to search the information on the internet before slowly filtering them out. However, turns out that with the search feature of the library, his plan was completely useless.

Not only was the search feature able to provide accurate information, it was also able to arrange the information in a way that only the truly important ones were shown. After using it, Aiden couldn't help but be shocked by its effectiveness.

At first, his expected the research to take the entire night. Yet, with the library, the time was reduced tremendously to only about only four hours.

Checking the time and realizing that it was quite late, Aiden proceeded to walk home. Just as he expected, the night in this world was just like his former one, live and bustling.

On his way home, he saw a lot of people trading and even enjoying themselves at the dawn of the night. However, this was only true for the center of the city itself.

As Aiden got nearer to his house, which was at the rural part of the city, he noticed that the number of people he saw had visibly decreased.

Aiden wondered how a world with so much terrible history could have people enjoying themselves. Yes, terrible history. That was the only way to describe this world's history!

Aiden had to admit that the people in this world had the most terrible past he had every seen in his life. In fact, what happened in their history made the world wars that took place in his world seem like a joke.

Before the suffering that the people in this world had to go through, the casualties from the. world wars were simply insignificant.

After reading through the information he found from the library, Aiden understood why the people in this world had superpowers. Turns out the reason was simple.

The reason why they had superpowers was for self-defence!
