Invited

'Wait, he is inviting me?' Aiden looked at Ghost Face as shock coloured his face. He hadn't expected Ghost Face to be so crazy that he would try to invite him to his gang after he had just tried to fight him.

He was expecting Ghost Face to hit him and make sure he regretted ever attacking him like any villain would in any movie. However, Ghost face acted differently. He was inviting him into his group.

"Sigh, It's about time. I have to leave. However, don't worry. Think about it. I will see you soon and ask you for the answer!" Ghost Face said a second later before taking out a gun and shooting into the empty space in front of him. Just then, a portal appeared in front of him.

"See ya later!" Ghost face said before jumping into the portal which immediately closed after he entered it.

"He even has a teleportation gun?" Aiden muttered as he stood up from the ground. In this modern era, things like teleportation guns were not really rare. However, even so, they were as rare as they could get. Not just anyone could stand up and then get a teleportation gun. It was only reserved for the military. Not even the police force had some.

In fact, only notable people in the society had one. This further explained how powerful Ghost Face was.

"How did I even survive the attack? In fact, why did I even attack him?" Aiden muttered to himself as he stood up. Thinking about what just ensued, he realized how stupid he was. He thanked the heavens that Ghost Face didn't attack him. If he did, Aiden could only think of only one end for him; death!

He had heard about Ghost Face for a long time, but meeting the man in person proved that he was even much stronger than the rumours had said about him. As Aiden was lost in his thoughts, the police Aero cars finally caught up.

Seeing this, Aiden couldn't help but nod in acknowledgement. He was now a hundred percent sure that the hoverboard that Ghost face was using was a super hoverboard. After all, it had only taken about a quarter of a minute for the police cars to reach him even though they were about five hundred metres away.

As the police cars reached him, a middle-aged man stepped out of the police car and began to walk towards Aiden.

"Are you alright?" He asked when he was close enough. Hearing the question, Aiden merely nodded, not wanting to say anything.

"Anyway," the policeman continued, "Did you see a man riding a hoverboard around here?"

Hearing the question, Aiden was surprised. Could it be that they didn't see the fight that had just taken place? Even though the fight had only taken about ten seconds, he had expected the police to see the fight take place.

Moreover, the hoverboard could still be seen destroyed in a store across the street. There was no way that they could have missed that.

'Could they be trying to see if I was an acquaintance of Ghost Face?'

An idea suddenly popped into Aiden's head. He couldn't help but think that the police were just trying to see if he was an acquaintance of Ghost Face. After all, in this modern era, there was no way that they could have missed the fight!

Moreover, if he was really an acquaintance, he would definitely lie and then be arrested. Aiden had to admit that the policeman who got out of the police car was quite smart.

"Oh, yeah. I saw it," Aiden said as he looked at the policeman waiting for a reaction. However, contrary to his expectation, the policeman didn't show any reaction at all. He still wore the poker face that he had when he greeted him.

Seeing this, Aiden realized that the policeman was very smart and intelligent. He couldn't see through him easily as he had guessed.

"In fact," Aiden said as he pointed to the hoverboard that was now crooked and almost broken, "I tried to fight him but it ended badly. fortunately, he let me go after making a blatant threat."

Hearing what Aiden said the policemen couldn't help but frown. Yet, a second later his face returned to its original form. Even though it only happened in a split second, Aiden was able to grasp the minimal facial movement.

"Sigh, Why did you even have to fight him?" the policeman said as he looked at Aiden.

"Hm," Aiden said as he pondered. Even he didn't know the answer to that question. At that moment, it seemed like his body wasn't controlled by him. It was as if something was controlling his body.

After all, he knew his capabilities. There was no way he would win against someone like Ghost Face in his previous world much less this new world.

"I was just trying to test my limits. In fact, I knew he wouldn't be able to kill me because you guys were chasing him," Aiden said awkwardly as he scratched the back of his head.

"Oh, okay," the policeman said, "You can go now..."

"Really?" Aiden asked in surprise. He was sure the policeman wasn't this foolish to let him escape after he had fought a criminal.

"Yeah, I was getting a little suspicious and that was why I was asking you all those questions," he said as he parted Aiden's shoulder.

"Em, okay..." Aiden said as he began to walk away, continuing his journey to his original destination: the library!

As the policeman stared at Aiden's disappearing back, one of the cops following him came to him.

"Boss, are you really letting him go? What if he knows Ghost face and is after him like we are?" the cop said.

Hearing the question, the policeman couldn't help but grin, "Of course not! I am not that foolish! Follow him but make sure that he doesn't notice anything."

"Okay!" the cop said as he started to follow Aiden after changing his clothes into normal attire.

"No one can know of my secret. Else, I would get into trouble. Sorry kid, but no one asked you to be smart..." the policeman muttered with an evil smile on his face as he looked in the direction that Aiden went.

In the meantime...

A few buildings away from the site where Aiden and Ghost Face had a fight, A teleportation gate suddenly opened, and a middle-aged man stepped out of it. The man had a well-built body that amateurs like Aiden couldn't compare to. This man was none other than Ghost Face.

As Ghost's face landed on the ground, he turned to look at the area where he and Aiden had a fight. Just then, the shadow of a man loomed next to his feet. seeing the shadow, Ghost Face couldn't help but grin.

"What are you doing here?" Ghost Face asked as he continued to stare at Aiden as he tried to answer the police's questions.

"I came here to make sure that nothing goes south. After all, you are the only friend I have left," the man behind him said.

"Oh, I am so touched. Either way, I was able to retrieve the item after all. With this, my power would grow in huge strides. In fact, everything went according to plan." Ghost Face said, "However, I didn't expect to come across a gem whilst escaping."

"Oh, is it that brat?" the man asked.

"Yep, He is quite talented."

"Talented? He is just some brat who has awakened earlier than normal. Moreover, you weren't taking the fight seriously. If you were, he would have been minced meat by now..." the man said.

"You are right about me not taking the fight seriously. However, you are wrong about his awakening. He hasn't awakened yet," said Ghost Face.

"Huh? What do you mean by that?" the man asked.

"Surprised right? Yes, he hasn't awakened yet. What you saw was a fraction of his potential before he awakens," Ghost Face declared.

"But how is that possible? He was able to keep up with you even though he hasn't awakened? Not even Creepy snake could do that before he awakened!" the man said. However, a second later, his voice turned solemn as he said,

"However, if you want him in the gang then you should probably protect him from them," the man said referring to the policemen who were interrogating Aiden.

"Don't worry, If he can't escape from them, then there is no way I would allow him into the gang!" Ghost Face declared yet again.

"Seriously? I thought you were interested?"

"I am. But to allow him into the gang, he has to be tough!"

"So, how do you plan to deal with him?" The man asked pointing at the policeman who was interrogating Aiden.

"Him?"

As Ghost Face looked at the policeman, his eyes burned in anger, "I would let him pay. I would definitely let him pay for betraying the gang!"
