I Wouldn't Have Allowed It!

"Ehh— I awakened.... "

"You shouldn't let him reveal his power here..." A voice suddenly interrupted Aiden during his speech.

Turning their heads to the source of the voice, Aiden and his family saw a middle-aged man and his family walking towards them.

He wore a police attire with the bright badge of the police service on his chest. Walking along him was a teenager and a middle-aged woman.

The woman was a beauty. A woman's whose appearance was no where beneath Aiden's mother's.

As for the teenager, Aiden knew him extremely well. After all, they were best friends. This teenager was none other than Ace, Aiden's best friend.

As for middle-aged man and woman following him, they were none other than his parents; Mr and Mrs Wilson.

"Oh, if it isn't Mr Wilson," Aiden's father, Mr Acker smiled as he stated at the police officer. He took out his hand for a hand shake.

"It's been a long time since we last talked!" Mr Wilson said as he shook Mr Acker's hand.

Aiden and Ace's family weren't family friends at first. However, as the relationship between their children grew closer, the families were forced to interact and hence they became friends.

"True, True. Anyway, may I ask why you didn't want Aiden to reveal his power here?" Mr Acker asked curiously. He had known Mr Wilson for quite sometime now and he knew that he wasn't the type of person that would just run their mouths.

"Hmm, " Mr Wilson nodded before turning his head towards Aiden with a light smile.

"By letting your son reveal his power here, you might attract too much gazes and it might compromise your son's safety," Mr Wilson said.

"Oh, I see. I nearly made that mistake!" Mr Acker Face turned grim as he said this. He even looked around a little after he said that with cautious eyes.

Looking around too, Aiden realise why he was so cautious. According to what Mr Wilson said, he would be compromising his security by saying his power out here. And it seemed to be true.

Just by glancing around, he realised many parents looking towards their direction. It was only when Mr Wilson stopped them from revealing his power that they turned away.

What Mr Wilson meant by his words were that, by revealing his power here, anyone who wanted to harm him could simply take counter measures to his power before attacking him.

It was better to remain quite and safe since he was now rather weak. Moreover, he was quite popular so by revealing his power, only God knew what would happen to him if the people around heard it.

'Sigh, looks like I owe him a favour!' Aiden thought as he looked at Mr Wilson. He was extremely grateful. After all, he wasn't Mr Wilson's son and he could have chose to ignore him and make him say his power out loud.

"Thank you for reminding me!" Mr Acker, Aiden's father said before turning to look at Ace.

"I heard Ace has a golden affinity to his power!" Mr Acker said making Mr Wilson smile.

From his expression alone, one could tell that he was very proud of Ace. Ace on the other hand looked embarrassed.

"Yeah, he is a good kid. Hopefully, he does well there. I also heard that someone from the Mage Association, wants to send them to the Academy!" Mr Wilson said to which the atmosphere suddenly turned weird. It felt like Mr Wilson had said something he wasnt supposed to.

"Is that true," Mr Acker asked with a grim voice.

"Of course , it is!" Mr Wilson exclaimed.

"Oh? I thought it was a hoax!" Mr Acker said with a awkward smile. "I wouldn't have allowed Aiden to go if you hadn't told me about it!"

Aiden heart skipped a beat when he heard that. he couldn't believe that his father would decide not to allow him to leave for the Academy just because he didn't believe it.

"Who is this person though?" Mrs Acker asked after a while of awkward silence.

"Oh, I heard she is called Chelsea." Mr Wilson said.

"Chelsea? Isn't she the City Library's Librarian?" Mrs Wilson asked in surprise.

"You know her?" her husband asked in surprise.

"Oh, yeah. That lady is quite popular among us, the women in this town because of her beauty," Mrs Wilson said. Mrs Acker also nodded, showing that she also knew Chelsea.

"Ah, I see. I received a report that there would be an undercover Mage from the Mage Association in the City. I never expected it to be her though," Mr Wilson explained. "My superior trusts me a little so he told me about it. However, I was too scared to try to figure out who the person was. 'After all, that is someone from the Mage Association. I shouldn't poke my nose into their business.' I always thought to myself whenever I got curious to who this person might be. "

"Hmm, that is true," Mr Acker said as he nodded grimly. They all knew that was better not to involve yourself into things you can't handle.

And poking your nose into someone from the Mage Associations' business is one of such things they couldn't handle.

"I have one problem with her arrangements though," Mr Wilson frowned.

"Is it about the amount of time she has given us to prepare?" Mr Acker asked and Mr Wilson nodded grimly.

"Yeah, I don't think I would be able to prepare within that time frame!" Mr Wilson said. They knew that it was almost impossible to prepare everything over night.

This is even more true when you consider the fact that their children would be staying at the academy for years!

"Actually, Aiden told me that he would be going to convince Chelsea to give us some more time." Ace suddenly said making Aiden cursed him in his head.

He knew that Ace wasn't suggesting that because he wanted to truly help but because he wanted to leave much faster.

"Oh , Is that true?" Mrs Acker asked as she turned to Ace who nodded.

"Oh, okay. We should leave you guys then. You can go convince her. Meet us at home!" Mrs Acker said.

"Uh... okay," Aiden nodded. He knew that his mother had already guessed the reason why Ace was suggesting this. Ah, motherly intuition, there was not way you could hide some secrets from them.

Aiden nodded and turned around to go alone. However, Ace stopped him and asked to come along to which Aiden could only nod helplessly.

Aiden and Ace soon departed leaving the two families alone.

A/N:

Okay, okay, so I am leaving another authors note. This isnt to tell you to vote though ( Nah, I will address that at the end).

Instead, it is to explain some things to you guys.

First of all, I know most of you would probably complain about the fact that I have been writing a few dialogue heavy chapters. However, I want you to listen to me first. These chapters are to serve as information based chapters. For example, this chapter was used to highlight a few things about Mr Wilson. Like his boss' trust in him, his links among others. Trust me, even though they might not seem extremely useful, they will be very useful in the next volume.

Secondly, I will like to announce that the second volume is actually near. I will be releasing the second volume soon. For some unknown reason, webnovel hasn't given me a contract yet. I wanted to get a contract first before posting the second volume so that I would able to start the premium chapters at second volume. But it seems like that isn't happening yet so I would wait and see.

And last but not the least, I would like you guys to support me more. Yes, I addressed the power stone problem and a few people have already started voting.

By the way, thanks to poor_soul for voting 3 power stones. It really helps and thanks.

To the rest of you out there, remember that even if you don't have any power stone, you could still comment and engage with me the author. If you comment alot, it helps me with alot of things. It helps me fix my mistakes among others so please remember to comment and vote.

That would be it for this extremely long author's note. Thanks for your attention and bye....

See ya in the next chapter...
