His Talent Is Higher Than That

"Hah, to think that the great Mr White would lie to a child about his aptitude for magic!"

A voice filled with sarcasm suddenly sounded.

"Who are you?" Mr White immediately said as he surveyed his surroundings trying to find the person who had spoken.

"Why would a person like you lie to the kid about his aptitude for magic?" the voice ignored Mr White and continued to speak.

*******

'What is happening?'

Aiden who was still confused about what was happening suddenly shuddered. He suddenly felt a cold gaze on him. It was as if someone was watching him.

'Could it be that the person speaking is watching me?' Aiden thought as he looked around him.

After looking around him for a while, he realized that he couldn't see anyone looking at him. Even so, he still felt that cold gaze directed at him. It was as if a demon was looking at him from above.

'Above! Yes, he must be above me!' Aiden suddenly mumbled as he looked up in the sky where he felt the person's gaze!

Even though Aiden had seen only a few people use magic for flight, considering the fact that he felt the gaze from above, he was sure the person was definitely above him.

'The person is not there!'

Aiden thought after raising his head to check the area above the Gate of Magic. He felt the gaze coming from that place yet when he checked there, he found nothing.

Needless to say, the anonymous person who was speaking continued to speak,

"How can you tell a child that has already unlocked his spatial awareness that he has no talent?"

"Spartial Awareness?" Mr White mumbled.

Aiden had heard of spartial awareness before. It was an ability that only Mages above third rank elementary realm posses. It was an especially good ability that allowed them to be aware of their surroundings in a much detailed manner much more deep and comprehensive than normal mortals. However, how did this ability relate to him?

******

"Of course! He already has spartial awareness and it's even stronger than yours yet you call such a genius a failure? What kind of principal are you?" The voice sounded yet again.

"Hmm?"

Mr White turned to Aiden. "Can you sense where he is?"

"Sense?" Aiden muttured in confusion.

"Indeed! Can you feel where he is? tell me don't worry even if you can't see him!" Mr White declared with a confident look.

"Feel? Oh, I do feel someone looking at me!" Aiden said. If it was feeling someone looking at him, then he indeed felt someone do that. Moreover, he had a general idea about where the person was even though he couldn't see him.

"Great! Show me!" Mr White said.

"There!"

Aiden pointed to the direction where he had felt the gaze coming from.

"Hmm?"

Mr White turned to the direction that Aiden pointed and the next moment a frown appeared on his face. However, he still couldn't see anything. He couldn't even feel a thing when he tried to scan that place with his eye of discernment.

"Are you sure that it is the place you felt the gaze from?" Mr White asked.

Aiden nodded. Yet when he was about to speak, the voice interrupted him.

"You still can't sense me? What a failure you are!" the voice sounded again.

A second later the space above the Gate of Magic started to swirl. Slowly, a man came onto view.

It was a middle-aged man probably around the same age as Mr White. He wore a dark robe that made him look out of place in a modern society like this. However, even though the man dressed very shabbily, no one dared to laugh at him.

This was due to two reasons, the second probably being the main reason why. First of all, the man had the ability to fly. Even though most people with telekinesis as their powers could do this, they couldn't maintain it for long. Moreover, they couldn't even move all the way up, even above the Gate of Magic, that is.

The second reason was that even though the man stood there and they could see him, they couldn't even feel his existence. It was as if he didn't exist. He had no presence at all!

If there was anything that Aiden learnt from reading lots of books during his nerdy times, then it was the fact that the most dangerous opponent was the one who didn't give the vibe of it at all. Those were the most dangerous and got most of the times, they went unnoticed in many scenarios.

Even Mr White frowned when he saw the man pop out of nothingness. This alone was enough to show that the man was a difficult person to deal with. Perhaps, it was only this man who can call Mr White a failure! As it seemed like he had the strength to back his statements up!

**********

The moment the man appeared, the whole stadium went silent and everyone's attention was fixated on the man, watching his every move.

Most people would most likely panic in situations like this but the man seemed absolutely chill as if he couldn't sense all the gazes on him at all.

"Why are you here?" Mr White asked coldly seemingly recognizing the stranger.

"Why I am here is not important right now. What is important is that you are lying to your students as a principal!"

"What do you mean?" Mr White asked.

The man ignored Mr White's question for a few seconds. After a moment of silence, the man slowly pointed at the orb in Aiden's hands.

"If I am not wrong, the orb you gave him is only a middle tier orb."

"Indeed," Mr White nodded. There was no need for him to lie about it.

"Good, you do know that mid tier orb can measure talents up till the golden standard. However, what about those whose talents exceed that limit?"

"What do you mean by that?" Mr White asked.

"Don't try to act as if you don't understand. I am trying to say that this lad's talent is much higher than the golden level and your middle teir orb can't measure it!" the man said slowly.
