Awakened Mage?

"What is wrong with you?" Ariel rolled her eyes after hearing Aiden's sudden shout.

"Oh... sorry, but I think I might have already awakened!" Aiden explained with an embarrassed look on his face. He was so delighted about thinking about this idea that he couldn't help but shout it out.

"Awakened?" Ariel blinked her eyes in confusion. "Is it because of what you went through when you were entering this world?"

"Eh... maybe... " Aiden muttered thinking about how Ariel was able to easily decipher his thoughts. 'This might prove problematic in the future...' Aiden couldn't help but think.

"Maybe? You mean you're not sure?"

"Yeah... Maybe."

"Maybe?"

"Yeah, I am not sure. However, listen to me first before you criticise me for my stupidity." Aiden said in displeasure. He has been trying to talk for a while now but it seemed like Ariel wasn't listening at all and continued to interrupt him.

"Just as you know, when I first arrived in this world, I had a dream... " Aiden started to explain but before he could even continue, Ariel interrupted again. Aiden was just about to snap at her when he heard what she said.

"It wasn't a dream..."

"Why don't you shut up... Huh, what did you say? It wasn't a dream?" Aiden mumbled.

"Yep. It's not a dream. I know that you were already suspecting that it wasn't a dream and I want to confirm it. It wasn't a dream." Ariel explained with an earnest look on her face.

"When you first arrived in this world, what you went through wasn't a dream. it really happened. You got absorbed by your power source. I don't know why but it happened. In fact, I was here when it happened. However, I got pushed away by your power source as if it was preventing me from coming close."

"It prevented you from coming close? How did it do that?" Aiden asked in confusion. According to what he knows about power sources, his power source shouldn't be able to repel or absorb anything on its own.

"I don't know..." Ariel explained, "It just happened all of a sudden. I don't know how it did it."

"Hm... this is a problem... Anyway, how did I get here then?" Aiden asked. Even if Ariel didn't know about how the star pushed her away, she should at least know about how he got here.

"It was a wormhole. It dropped your physical body in here." Ariel said.

"A wormhole? You mean a wormhole appeared in my room and sucked me in here? Is that why my room was so destroyed after I woke up?" Aiden couldn't help but ask.

"Probably. However, there is also something strange about your arrival." Ariel said.

"Strange? What do you mean?" Aiden cocked his head to the side with a frown on his face.

"You came in here with your physical body when you were asleep. However, you are only able to enter here with your soul..."

"Oh... I see," Aiden muttered under his breath. Aiden also knew this. He knew that mages could only enter their Spiritual Space with their souls and not their physical bodies. However, if what Ariel was saying was right, didn't it mean that he was able to defy common logic? Mo

"I don't know how you did it but that's what happened," Ariel replied.

"Hmmm?" Aiden couldn't help but ponder over the topic. Usually, he wouldn't care much about this. yet, even he found it strange that he was able to travel here with his body and not his soul. Could it be that it was the workings of the star?

Thinking of this, Aiden turned his head towards the direction of his power source: The star. After staring at it for a while though, Aiden couldn't help but sigh in frustration. At the start of today, he thought everything would go on well.

He even thought that he might be able to awaken a cool power that would shock most people since he was from another dimension. After all, most people who came from other dimensions always ended up being super strong (Something that he had learnt from reading a lot of books).

Yet not only did he not gain any superpowers, but he was also sent to this forsaken place which he had no idea how to escape from here. How was he supposed to leave now?

"Uh... this is so much of a hassle!" Aiden sighed. At first, he thought that he was going to get this cool power but it seems like it was all dreams. What was left now was for him to find a way to escape from this place.

"So, do you know how I can leave here? I mean I don't even know the amount of time that I have been here. Even though it might seem like A few minutes, it might be hours outside," Aiden said.

Time flowed differently in a mage's spiritual space. It could flow slowly or faster but this mostly depended on the mage. If the mage was really strong, then the mage can make time flow much slower than an average mage.

"Oh, there is an actual way to do that..." Ariel nodded.

"Hm?" Not expecting to get a complete answer Aiden was caught off guard, "What are you waiting for then? Tell me about it."

"It is simple actually, just imagine yourself entering back into your body..." Ariel said.

"That simple? Are you sure?"

"Why would I lie?"

"Okay..." Aiden nodded as he closed his eyes. However, after closing his eyes for a while, he didn't feel any change and hence he opened his eyes to talk some sense into her for pranking him.

"It didn't work! Didn't I tell you that it would nt work. What the.....!"

Yet before he could even complete his sentence, his eyes widened in horror as he saw himself falling from a deep black space into what seemed like a gate beneath him.
