Absorbed A Star

The blue ball of light continued to grow bigger and bigger. And the bigger it grew, the more nervous Aiden became.

Aiden's heart pounded in his chest as he watched the blue ball of light hurtling towards him at an incredible speed. Realizing how fast the blue light ball was travelling towards him, he knew it wouldn't take long to reach him. If that happened, Aiden did not doubt that he would die immediately.

Part of the reason for his assumption was the size of the blue light ball. The size alone was enough for one to despair. The blue ball which started as a small light ball around the size of a fist had already grown hundreds of thousands of metres in diameter.

In Aiden's memories, there was only one thing that could grow as large as the blue light ball and continue to grow bigger. They were spatial objects. Objects that only existed outside the earth like asteroids and stars.

Moreover, judging by the properties of the light blue ball, Aiden was quite sure that it was a star. Just the thought of crashing into a star sent shivers down Aiden's spine. Aiden had tried to escape. He had tried to run away, trying to move away from the star. However, in face of such a giant as the blue star, all efforts were negligible.

He had never seen anything move so fast in his life. The ball was getting bigger and bigger with every passing moment, and the temperature around him was rapidly rising. At first, at least, Aiden was able to endure.

However, the temperature was now too high. Even Aiden started to feel uncomfortable. Beads of sweat started to form on his forehead, and he could feel his clothes sticking uncomfortably to his skin.

Aiden was parched and desperately thirsty, but no matter how much he tried to swallow, his mouth remained dry.

Despite the intense heat and the alarming speed of the blue ball of light, Aiden was surprised to find that he wasn't disintegrating into nothingness.

After all, that was there was no logical reason to explain how he was still safe. Even the space around him had started to shatter and he could see space cracks appear all over. He wondered how he was managing to survive in the face of such extreme danger.

It was almost as if something was protecting him, shielding him from harm. As the blue ball of light continued to expand and hurtle towards him, Aiden tried to calm down but it was almost impossible to do. He was experiencing something that few people ever got to witness, and he felt incredibly lucky to be alive and able to witness it, yet, this 'lucky event' would lead him to his death.

At that moment, Aiden realized that he was not alone. Whatever was protecting him was also guiding him, leading him towards something new and unknown. Even though he didn't know whatever that was, he decided not to just surrender himself to fate. He couldn't just die here!

However, even though he struggled, he couldn't escape his doom. This was the first time, that he had been so close to death. One that he couldn't prevent.

It was at this moment that he realized how vulnerable humans were. Humans were too vulnerable. So vulnerable that environmental influences could easily end their lives.

As Aiden was lost in thoughts, he was dragged into the core of the massive ball of light. The moment that happened, he was hit by a wave of heat that made him feel like he was standing in the middle of a blazing inferno. The air around him crackled with energy, and he could feel the hair on his arms and the back of his neck standing on end.

The space around him now had cracked and flown away like broken glass. The light from the core was so bright that it was almost blinding, and he had to squint to protect his eyes from the glare.

Also, even though the light was extremely bright. So bright that any human who directly stared at it would have their sense of vision destroyed, Aiden was unaffected. He could even see through the outer layer and see the core directly.

However, what he saw through in the core truly shocked him. Aiden saw that at the core of the ball of light were two orbs rotating around each other in a sinister dance. The orbs seemed to be made of violent electric strikes, and they glowed with a fierce blue light that seemed to pulsate with almost malevolent energy.

As he watched, transfixed, the two orbs began to spin faster and faster, until they were a blur of violent light. As Aiden approached the core, he could hear a low, rumbling growl that seemed to be coming from deep within the earth. The danger was palpable, and he knew that he was in the presence of something truly powerful. Something so powerful that it was beyond his imagination.

Realizing this, Aiden tried his best to escape from the force that was pulling towards the core of the star. As Aiden got closer to the core, he felt a shiver down his spine. A very clear sign of danger.

Soon, Aiden was dragged forcefully to the centre of the core. He was now the centre and the two orbs were rotating around him. At such a close distance he could finally feel how powerful those two orbs were. it was as if they could kill him in a few mini-seconds a breath if they attacked him.

Soon, the two orbs started to close in on him. Aiden's breath started to hasten when he saw the orbs finally reach him. Finally, both orbs ram into him at once.

He felt an intense surge of energy coursing through his body. The orbs seemed to be drawing him in, pulling him closer with a force that he couldn't resist.

'Ah!!'

Suddenly, without warning, Aiden felt a searing pain shoot through his chest, as if his heart was being ripped out of his body. He gasped and stumbled backwards, but the orbs continued to draw him in, and he could feel them entering his body through his chest.

The pain was like nothing he had ever experienced before. It felt as if his whole body was on fire, and he could feel every nerve ending screaming in agony. The pain intensified as the orbs continued to penetrate his body, and Aiden writhed and convulsed, his muscles twitching and spasming uncontrollably.

He screamed out in agony, but the pain only grew more intense, until he felt as if he was being torn apart from the inside out. Soon enough, Aiden could feel his vision becoming cloudy and he couldn't help but think of how things escalated to this point.

Feeling his consciousness slip from him and his life flash in his face, Aiden muttered albeit weakly,

'I don't want to die. At least not this way.'

Following that, Aiden lost consciousness yet the excruciating process continued not sparing the fact that he had lost his consciousness.

Aiden's eyes suddenly fluttered open and quickly scanning his environment, he realized that he was in his room.

'I didn't die?'

Aiden thought as he touched his face in disbelief. Feeling his hollow cheeks, he realized that he was very much alive.

'Was it all a dream?'

That was the only thought that popped into his head. That was the only way that he could explain what had happened. After all, no one dies and wakes up in their bed. It was just unimaginable.

'Maybe I was just dreaming.'

Aiden concluded. He had accepted the fact that he was dreaming. After all, he woke up only feeling a little refreshed. Nothing had changed about him at all. He just felt and looked like he was yesterday. Weak, malnourished and unmuscular.

Just as Aiden was about to stand up, something suddenly popped into his head and he inspected his room again.

"What the!!"

Aiden's eyes suddenly widened as he looked at his room. He couldn't believe what he was seeing. He was so shocked that for a moment, he considered shouting his lungs out and he almost did it.

As he looked at his room, multiple questions popped into his head.

'How did this happen?'

'How did this room turn to this?'

He didn't know how this happened. He had to admit that his room was quite messy. However, this was too much. Currently, his room looked nothing like a room but a junkyard instead.

The room was in disarray. Clothes, wires and other objects littered the floor like some large refuse dump. Moreover, every single thing in his room apart from his clothes and some personal belongings was destroyed. Even the thing he cherished the most: his computer was also destroyed.

Nothing was spared in the damage. Not even the bed he was sleeping on or the walls in his room. At this moment, the walls had cracks in them even though they weren't in any danger of collapsing.

Aiden found it difficult to imagine the fact that he was able to sleep through all this without even realizing it. As Aiden thought of how this happened, he brought up a theory.

It was very likely that what happened to him in his dream was very much related to this incident. In fact, to him, the only way that he was able to sleep through all this without noticing anything was because he wasn't here when it happened. Maybe, at that time, he was lost in the dream and didn't realize what was happening in his room.

"Sigh, I better clean this room before mom finds out!"

Aiden thought as he looked at his messy room. Standing up and heading towards, his computer, Aiden couldn't help but sigh as he looked at how 'whatever' happened had caused a lot of destruction in his room.

*knock, knock, knock*

Just then Aiden heard a knock on his door.

"Yes?"

"Aiden, you should come down for breakfast before going to school else you'd be late"

A feminine voice rang outside which Aiden immediately recognised as his mother's.

"Em, okay. I will be there soon," Aiden replied.

"Okay. But, have you cleaned your room?" the voice asked again.

'Oh crap! Talk about bad luck!' Aiden thought as he replied, "Maybe?!"

"Maybe? What do you mean by 'maybe'? I told you to... What the?" the voice erupted in anger as the door opened and a middle-aged woman stepped in. However, as she stepped in, she was so shocked that she ended a sentence mid-way.
