Chapter 3: A Diary?

It's half past seven in the evening, and Lily and Sarah managed to hide the old book they found back in the garden from their mother before she could notice it. They rushed to Lily's room to see the origin of the book. Sarah immediately locked the door to avoid their mother or anyone to get into their room all of a sudden.

Sarah: I couldn't wait any longer, I just want to know about the book.

Lily: Yeah, and it's even came from our dad's garden.

Sarah: How could this book even end up getting buried beneath the garden? Or.....did someone purposely hid it so no one can find it?

Lily: Whoever that is, he or she is not careful enough because now that book is with us.

Sarah: Then what are we still waiting for? Open the book!!!

Lily: I just hope mom won't come to my room.

Lily and Sarah sat down on the bed and looked at the curiously. Lily slowly opened the book when she felt something approaching towards her. She closed her eyes immediately, and her mind started to show her an unknown place with full of people who are trying to escape from something dangerous....

Amanda!!! Take our daughters away!!!! I'm begging you!!!

Everything suddenly started to get destroyed, dark orbs were approaching on that unknown place and she couldn't bear to hear the familiar voice that came into her mind. She opened her eyes in fear and breathe heavily, unable to withstand of what she witnessed in her mind.

Sarah: Hey, are you all right? You look a bit disturbed....

Lily: Uh....( wipes her forehead ) nothing, nothing.....

Lily convinced her sister and continued to open the book fully, to see some writing on every pages.

Sarah: Look, someone has written something on this book.

Lily looked closely at the front page when she realized something about the mysterious book.

Lily: It's a diary.

Sarah: What?

Lily: Yeah, look at this, this person wrote the date and time for each page.

Sarah: But who might had wrote it? And how did it end up in Dad's garden?

Lily: We will never know, until we find out about this diary.

Sarah: Let's read it, quickly!!

Lily opened the first chapter and read the date and time.

Lily: 12th of July 1999, 2.30 in the afternoon.

Dear Diary,

Levilion City, a city which was about happiness and peace, filled with loving people and nature. Although it's an infamous city, it was known as the fastest growing one. I'm so happy to be one of the Levis and I feel proud of it, I'll make sure to never leave my hometown ever again, not even my family, friends and my loved ones. Let's hope for the best to this beautiful and selfless city.

Lily and Sarah finished reading the first page of the diary, but it was too short information to find the owner of the book. They felt clueless even before finding the book.

Lily: That's it? That's what all about on that day?

Sarah: Well, maybe the person felt happy about his hometown at that day, so I guess.....

Lily: But that's the weirdest part, we have never heard of a city called Levilion City in our entire life.

Sarah: But the person who wrote it might had gave us the reason, he wrote it that it was an infamous city in the world.

Lily: Then how are we going to find this cit....

Amanda: What are you both doing here alone?

Amanda came inside Lily's room out of the room, Sarah quickly hid the diary and Lily pretended to be cool in front of her mother.

Lily: Mom!! How did you even come in?! I thought I locked the door.

Amanda: Well, clearly you didn't. Anyway, what were two doing just now?

Sarah: We were.....we were just talking...

Amanda: About what?

Sarah: About...ummm

Lily: The Garden!! We talked about the garden we went in the evening, it was awesome, right sis? ( nudges Sarah )

Sarah: Ah yes yes, I'm still amazed till now.

Amanda: It's your father's garden after all, he was such an expert being a gardener.

Lily: Talk about it, I wish I could learn some bit of it from him, but too bad he left us quickly.

Amanda: He did teach me some techniques, so I should be good to teach you both as well. What do you say?

Sarah: That's great Mom, and....why were you looking for us?

Amanda: I just wanted to check on you both, make sure to sleep before late night.

Lily: We will, good night Mom.

Amanda smiled at both Lily and Sarah and went back to her room, they sighed in relief as they thought they would got caught by her.

Sarah: Pheww, that's such a relief.

Lily: But I swear I did lock the doors, how could she even came in after that?

Sarah: You should be more cautious next time, sis. You clearly made us got caught by her....almost.....

Lily: You know what? I don't think this is the good place to read this diary.

Lily took out the diary underneath the bed and looked at it.

Lily: We should deal with this somewhere else.

Sarah: Like where?

Lily: Umm.....what about the garden we would often go?

Sarah: Sounds good, let's go there by afternoon.

Lily: All right, but make sure Mom never finds out about the book. Let's keep this safe.

Sarah: Fine, but still...I still have a doubt on that Levilion City thing, do you think someone might have known about this unknown city?

Lily: Who knows? We need to find out by ourselves. But what's made this even bizarre that it was buried under our dad's garden, what if...dad knew about this diary?

Sarah: We never know anything until we go and seek for the answers, we can't just sit down and wait for it.

Lily: You're right, we can't even ask our mom about this. We should deal this with our own, but you should promise that you will never this to anyone.

Sarah: Trust me Lily, I'm good at keeping secret, even hiding about your admirer from mom.

Lily: What?!! What do you mean my admirer? Jovin is just my neighbor.

Sarah: Just your neighbor? Spill the beans, I know you both have a thing.

Lily: Hey, it's not what you think, Jovin and I are being such good friends and I never have any thoughts about that, and so do him.

Sarah: I don't know if I believe that, it seems like Jovin has some sort of an affection towards you.

Lily: You're so delusional, Sarah. Just imagining about stupid things.

Sarah: You might not believe me now, but you will get to know that by yourself. I'll see you tomorrow then.

With that said, Sarah went out of Lily's room after creating some confusion on her mind. Lily was a bit dumbfounded, Jovin was a ordinary boy who lived not far away from her home. They would often met sometimes at the park or somewhere nearby. She had never thought of him as a man, but what Sarah told her tonight had her come to a second round of battling thoughts.

Lily: What if she's right? Jovin.....me..... impossible.....I know he's a handsome boy, with muscles and...abs....and his hairstyle...and his....wait, am I drooling about him right now?!!!

Lily messed her hair up and lied down with a thud on her bed.

Lily: No no no no.....it can't be. Ok Lily, calm down calm down, let's not panic. Let's just figure this out by myself. Now that I have decided to go to the park with Sarah, let's see if Jovin would show up, and if he did, I need to be careful about his every slightly moves. This Sarah, she made me crazy like hell!!!!!! Ugghhh!!!

Lily covered herself with her blanket and lied on her back, she was about to go to sleep when....

Hey Lil, what's up?

Lily: What?!!! I can even heard his voice here!!! What the hell is going on?!!!

Amanda: Lily, why are you shouting there?

Lily: Nothing Mom, just being a lunatic for a while.....
