Chapter 4

"Ah. It feels good to be out every once in a while."

The emo Lucy had been walking around her house and doing anything to get rid of her boredom. She had just decided to take a bath when she felt another persence 'Destructive but contained.... Natsu.' She decided to change into normal Lucy and got out of the lovely bath she had just gotten into. She got dressed and opened the door before Natsu could and she could tell he was slightly surprised.

"What's up?" She realized she still sounded like emo Lucy and quickly covered it with a yawn. "Oh nothing much." He walked inside. 'There it is again. That strange smell. It smells like Lucy but it doesn't. It's stronger this time.'

About a hour later Natsu, Lucy and Happy were back in the guild hall. They took a job that needed a young, blond maid.

They got back around nightfall. Lucy had used up a lot of her magic power today so she could barely stand let alone walk. But she managed. There was also the fresh memories of the dirty old man stuck on her head. 'That was going to give me nightmares.' She thought. Lucy was still new to Magnolia so Natsu dropped her off at her house just to be safe.

Hey mom,

I met some really amazing people today. Well, a few days ago. I was just too excited to write about it. So anyway it was amazing. I mean it! I met this really pretty girl who's only a couple of years older than me named Erza. She's beautiful, her magic is amazing, she's really nice too... unless you eat her strawberry cake or are constantly fighting like Natsu and Gray. I was talking about Natsu yesterday. He's really strong and uses fire magic.I dont know what kind but- oh! He has a talking cat can you believe that? A blue, flying, talking cat! And Gray uses ice magic. It's really pretty if he's not trying to kill you with it. He has a habit of constantly taking off his clothes and not realizing it. But they all welcomed me with open arms and accepted me for who I am. Mom, I finally found a place I can call home. A family.

She sealed the letter and put it on the box with the other ones.

She was about to go to bed when she remembered she had a contract to sign. "Open gate of the little dog, Nichola!" In front of her stood a small, white snowman looking spirit. "Ha!" It said. Lucy could've died of cuteness overdose but somehow held together. She made the contract and now she just had to name him. "Hm. I think I'll call you Plue. Come here Plue!"

After that, Lucy realize how late it actually was and went to bed.

In the morning Lucy woke up to yelling and the sound of crashing. 'Hm... Natsu, Gray... and Erza. okay.'

"Icy bastard!"

"Flame - brain!"

"Shut up you two! Did you forget Lucy is still sleeping?" The two boys just pointed to the door still glaring at each other where you could see a sleepy Lucy walk though the doorway. "Hey guys." Lucy sat down on the floor next to Erza not knowing what else to do.

Natsu still had a strange feeling. The smell was everywhere. 'What or who is it?' Natsu started thinking when Gray said. "Don't think too much you might hurt yourself." "Hey! It's not like you're any better!" At this point they were head-to-head again.

Lucy tried to calm them down or at least stop them from fighting. "Guys just calm dow-" Thats when it happened. Everything went black and she passed out. She slumped on Erzas shoulder. There was a moment of shocked silence.

"Lucy!" The three of them shouted.

When she woke up her head was laying on Erzas lap. She shot up and headbutted someone. She let out a hiss of pain. "Pfft haha Gray." It took all Natsu had not to burst out laughing. Lucy had a splitting headache and the headbutt could cover for that. But thats not what she was worried about. She wanted to say something like 'What did you guys see' but that would be too weird. "What happened?" She knew what happened but she couldn't tell them. And besides, she only wanted to lnow what they saw.

"We don't know. You just passed out."

"Are you okay?"

"I'm fine."

Lucy stood up and almost fell over again. Luckily, Gray came to her rescue. Good thing too beacuse if she were to fall she would've hit her head on the table and passed out again.

After a few minutes of an awkward silence Gray got up and found a stack of papers and began to read them.

Lucy quickly got up, snatched the papers away from him and started whacking him in the head with a Sorcers Weekly magazine. It was just then Erza snatched the papers away from Lucy and started reading. "This is quite good Lucy."

"Erza no! I promised Levy she would get to read it first."

....

A couple weeks in and everyone's bond with Lucy grew stronger. Lucy kept getting surprised when people were nice but that was just because she had never actually had friends before.

Lucy was just walking through the park when she saw a large group around the huge tree in the middle of the park. She walked over and saw team Shadow Gear. They were unconscious and basically stapled to the tree. 'Who does that?' She thought. Levy had the Phantom Lords guild mark painted onto her stomach. Lucy gasped and started crying without control. She coughed and ran as fast as she could. She could barely breath and her throat was dry. Lucy hadn't seen anyone in the crowd that was from Fairy Tail. As soon as she got to the guild she ran inside and found the master in his usual place at the bar. As soon as she stopped running she doubled over and started coughing. People started coming over to help her when she shouted, " Forget about me go help Levy! Please."

She was crying again. Or she thought she was but, her face was dry. And so were her eyes. She couldn't cry anymore.

Lucy was too shocked for words. She couldn't say anything. Natsu, Gray, and Erza knew the route she took to get here so they just 'retraced her footsteps'.

A Few Minutes Later.

"Get to the park now! It's team Shadow Gear!"
