Kalen's pov
A sensation unlike the formation of a typical field surrounded us, usually when one uses a field its normal to sense the world being pushed back in order to create a completely empty space where the fields caster can fill it with their own small universe only bound and under effect of the laws they set.
But this was different, the world didn't shift, instead it sealed, all around us a space of about 300 miles suddenly separated from the rest of the universe like it had been cut away, the mans Arcanum instantly filled the surrounding space and within a blink of an eye, I could tell. If I so much as moved I'd be fried to my very atoms by lightning denser than anything in creation.
I looked to the man who put me in this situation, not Langris but the man who created the field, he was looking at me, at us, I, langris, Sam even the unconscious Raine, he looked at us as if judging us, looking to see what our next move was. There was no move, not one that made sense anyway, with enough of a power difference a field user could seal away the divine sense of his opponents but it seems this man didn't deem it nessecary for dealing with us, as such I could still sense the state of all of my comrades without looking at them, and they were all in pretty bad shape, and not just physically, even Langris looked to be contemplating something which from his expression I could tell was not what he'd usually consider an option, yet the man still looked at us, his expression was blank but I could see it in the depths of the blue of his
"show me more"
they said, there was only one way to counter him now, since there was obviously something wrong with his field it could probably work but the chances were still 1 in 10000000000000000000, a chance but not a big one, but I could tell, he wanted to see me take it, he wanted to see of I was man enough to do it
'Field.....Endless Nig.....'
"ELPHIUS DRAX, FORMER FIRST DON OF TRIDENT, HE'S ERON'S DAD"
a voice, no a scream resounded from below and I breathed a huge sigh of relief, it had worked, the 4th Don Kannie soon jerkily floated upwards, he was a mess, I could tell there were more than a few bones broken in his body but it seems he decided not to focus on healing those and instead chose to fix the part of him with most damage, his voice box, Elphius had smashed it in his charge, probably to avoid getting his name out, that was why I had shouted about how he was intent on hiding his name, Kannie had realised my intention and put effort in joining the fight for this very moment, to ruin his plans.
"THE FUCK"
yelled Sam, I could sense the fear in his voice and the fright on his face before I turned, I hadn't meant to but after the secret got out I subconsciously relaxed so his voice startled me, but only for a moment. Just long enough for me to turn back in abject horror and realisation, if this was a different scenario I would have thrown myself at this man's feet begging for instruction, my eyes would be covered in stars as I did my best to stand in front of a living legend, a titan amongst titans, a man who spent the last 200 years shaping the world we live in, but now it took all of my being to not pass out I fear
'Lightning Godslayer'
I said quietly. God's are real, they are real and they are everything the name says they are, strenght beyond comprehension, speed beyond thought endless stamina and the power to end and shake our reality with a thought, many gods have appeared in this world, many of them have died, over half at the hands of the guardian of the black empire some at the hands of its emperor while weilding the black scythe but in all of known history only two Don's have been able claim to have killed one solely with their own power, the most powerful being alive and the man in front of me.
Floating before us was a man who could destroy the entire universe, and we.... killed his son
'Langris.....what do we do'
my voice came out sounding more defeated than it should have but I couldn't help it, all hope of survival was gone, we were dead
"I had every right to end his life"
cried a voice to my left, Langris had voiced out his opinion without a shred of hesitation in his words. I had to admire him even in our situation his face clearly showed not a hint of remorse, but as much as I admired it I didn't plan to die today so, just as the rage and pressure in front of us intensified I jumped backwards to get out range of an unsuspecting attack, one that never came, instead despite the blood curling force that radiated off his body the current first Don of Trident continued to hold the gaze of the former
" then let your death serve as an apology"
the man raised his empty hand as sparks of lightning danced around it and I brought my sword to my side ki and darkness surrounding it like the ends of a flame, he brought his gaze to me and I trained mine on his body, clearly waiting for him to make a move, my eyes caught a slight smirk that quickly disappeared before he swung down and I swung up.
I managed to lean to the side before he finished his swing and with that narrowly dodging his attack before sending mine to the sky or rather to the ceiling, with the sound of a mountain cracking open the top of the field bursted apart in a shower of black ki and silver light, Elphius was stunned as the backlash of his field breaking suddenly hit him and Langris didn't let the moment slide, he instantly sent a beam of light ki towards the enemy, the beam shrieked and roared as it charged, a charge that was instantly halted as the former Don swung an open palm at the attack nullifying it easily, his eyes which had been previously shut tight were now open and redded with something other rage
"you brats"
he said sounding delirious before a massive wave of silver light instantly swallowed him. It's force carrying him for several miles before he crashed into the walls of his own field
"it seems I'm not late"
said a relaxed voice I never thought I'd been happier to hear I my life, my eyes shot up in order catch the sight of a familiar figure
'big bro, someone's bullying me'
