Synopsis

"What do you want the most in life, Jeon Jeongguk?" "Kim Taehyung," The teenager replied without a second thought. Principal Lissy smirked, as Jeongguk shook his head, falling out of the daze she created for him and before the ravenette could change his answer or be properly embarrassed by it, she fired the question to the other boy, "And what do you want the most in life, Kim Taehyung?" Flustered and feeling out of his wits by his former friend now nemesis-cum-frenemy's reply, Taehyung squeezed his eyes close, shutting down his brain in case Principal Lissy dazed it and spewed out the most ridiculous thing he ever spoke in 17 years of his embarrassing life, "I want Dolphins to get high on puffer-fish." His reply was so determined that Principal Lissy gave up the idea of expulsion. || || TAEKOOK centric but OT7 focus || Soulmate AU || very crack-y and fluffy || angst if you squint hard enough ||best-friends to enemies to frenemies to friends to soulmates to weird denial phase to addicted lovers AU ||

Chapter 1PROLOGUE

The day Jeon Jeongguk was born, all pink and rosy whining like he still does at 18, was the day Kim Taehyung's status upgraded from just being 'the adorable baby' to being 'one of the adorable babies' and 'a protective hyung'.

When the two-year-old Kim Taehyung had wrapped potato Jeongguk's small, blushing finger in his slightly less small palm, Taehyung knew he had a duty to cherish and protect this wide eyed, red nosed, baby bunny, forever!

The period from September 1st to December 30th had them inseparable because of the deep family bond that they shared. Mrs. Kim and Mrs. Jeon had been best friends since their diaper days and were intent on repeating history with their sons.

But when Jeongguk attempted to wrap his angelic little hand around Taehyung's index finger and gave it an innocent squeeze, that almost cracked his bone and nearly made the ashy-haired hyung's finger compete with a limp French fry, Taehyung knew he had to find a new best friend before this happens to the rest of his body parts.

From sharing cradles and lullabies to sharing toys and hugs, they both transcended from infancy to notorious toddlers giggling around the place.

"Tae-Tae hyung!" little Jeongguk's voice would resonate through the empty rooms of the day care.

Taehyung would throw aside everything at hand's distance to create a safe environment for his gukkie and then turn around with a boxy smile and shining eyes, arms spread out to engulf the little one in a hug. He would see Jeongguk running towards him with open arms, a bunny smile on his chubby cheeks, his brown ringlets bouncing along with the skip in his steps, wearing a pink button down shirt, adorable red shorts, Patrick socks and cute brown timberlands. (The obsession ran in the family.)

Jeongguk would look admiringly up at his hyung, his beautiful silver eyes laughing at him, his ashy grey curls encircling his beautiful face like an angel's halo, that small straight nose scrunched cutely in anticipation, those wide lips confining a spectacular boxy smile, slender arms open in invitation as the baggy blue shirt's long sleeves threatened them to the verge of disappearance. He'd stand up and those yellow SpongeBob socks would be a painful contrast to his Gucci outfits. They'd hug each other close.

Then came along Park Jimin.

And from warm hugs and terms of endearment, they transcended to bone crushing hugs and terms of endangerment.

"Tae-Tae hyung!"

"Jeonggukie!"

The ginger head Jimin would see the brunette call out as his best friend would reply with equal vigor, those smiles a perfect contrast to what was going in their heads.

Sometimes they would just try to choke each other with a hug, but upon seeing Jeongguk win—Jimin had to tear them apart. Sometimes, out of spite, Jeongguk would break their toys. It was satisfying for him to see Taehyung running after him with a broken light saber.

Jeongguk's second strike was when he threw a cushion at Jimin's face with such force that the poor ginger midget nearly had a concussion.

"Hey you grey haired old man!"

"Hello there, human embodiment of the word animal!"

And suddenly Taehyung saw a Lego block, tearing through air, and coming at him with such force that had Taehyung momentarily frozen for a second. Before Jimin's slow mind could register what happened, Taehyung's chair flung backwards and he was sprawled on the ground with his forehead burst open.

That was 10 year old Jeongguk's last strike before his parents pulled him out of day school and travelled all the way from Daegu to Busan and admitted Jeongguk to MSMC—Merlin's School for Magical Children.

And that's how Kim Taehyung and Jeon Jeongguk's beautiful (in Jimin's words: Borderline sadistic and weirdly possessive) friendship, ended. Well 'friend' does have an 'end' in it.

And Kim Taehyung was back to being the adorable baby that he originally was. Almost...

GlaringError here! As I have already mentioned in my author review I am restating it here since I am getting tons of comments about it, that I am more of a reader myself than a writer, I made this novel in an attempt to capture my fantasy world residing in my mind into words.. Writing is new for me.. The premise of my novel is inspired by many great works that I have loved over the years. And some elements I have in my novel that are slightly similar to them but it's just the skeleton of it, the real meat of the plot is entirely my own cooking. Some of the influence that is more noticeable is from The Runesmith (By Kuropon), The King's Avatar (By Butterfly Blue) and Shadow Slave (By Guiltythree). I have immense respect for these legends and I can only hope to follow in their footsteps. To all those who comment just by judging the name, at least give it a chance before letting your opinions be known. Thank you.
