With the completion of the Golem Pit tournament, the fame of the Free Points spread throughout the Nightshade town.
At first, no one believed the Free Points was the champion but when they saw the announcement from the organizer. It left the townspeople flabbergasted.
Hence, they began to see the Free Points in a new light
Inside an ordinary two-story building, a team of five people sat around a wooden table with bright smiles on their faces. Fabian was grinning from ear to ear while looking at the others.
"Now, no one dares to look down on us again," said Fabian proudly.
Cedric looked at Fabian with unconcealed joy and nodded. "Yeah, when my friend heard about our winning they didn't believe me, not until they saw the picture and video clip."
"Now, my parents didn't stop me from continuing from becoming a Robot engineer," Kaida added with a smile.
As for Isadora, she had a light smile on her face but she didn't utter any word as her gaze was fixed on the quiet man sitting opposite her. This was Pablo da Fonte.
After winning the Golem Pit tournament, Isadora, Cedric, Fabian, and Kaida agree to add Pablo to their team and form a guild.
With the reward for winning the tournament, they bought this two-story building and used it as their headquarters.
"Enough of the chit-chat," Isadora said with seriousness.
At once, Fabian and the others looked at her, waiting for her to continue.
"Although we won the Golem Pit tournament…. Everyone knows it is one of the weakest tournaments." Isadora continued.
"We should prepare to join the more famous tournament and start making names for ourselves."
Hearing this, everyone nodded. Even though they're the champions. If they were placed in another tournament with their clumsy robot, they wouldn't last more than one second in the ring.
Hence they knew they must work harder if they wanted to continue on their winning streak.
"You're right, what should we do? You must know our previous fighter robot had turned into metal scrap after delivering the last punch." Fabian asked.
"Yes. That's why we need to plan and listen to Pablo." Isadora said, turning to Pablo.
Watching the gaze of everyone, Pablo didn't have any changes in his expression. He cleared his throat slightly and straightened his back.
Even though this was a small team, with the arrival of the system. A fire was burning in his heart and with this team of four, he could let the world know the fiery blaze in his heart.
A lot of people had called him a failure but now, he was about to come back.
"Before we start talking about joining another tournament. We must first have a workable team." Pablo began. "So tell me your area of expertise"
"System and Programming," said Isadora
"Electrical," Kaida said.
"Mechanical," Fabian said
"Fighter," said Cedric looking at the ceiling.
Even though Pablo was a new member, his impact on the team was not small. He was the sole contributor to their winning the Golem Pit tournament. Besides, his knowledge and experience were far greater than theirs.
Thus, when he joined the group, he became the pillar of the team while they looked up to him.
Shaking his head, Pablo quickly dismissed their minuscule knowledge and told them to study better and improve their craft for better performance. Else they should forget about winning another tournament.
After giving the four a key in their area, he finally asked the question that bugged his mind.
"Where can we buy another robot?"
"No in Nightshade town," Isadora said as a matter of fact.
Hearing this, Pablo opened his mouth slightly for a couple of moments, only to close it slowly.
'How backward can this town be that we can't even buy the lowest-grade fighter robot?!' He cried in his heart.
With the welcome reward from the system, he was confident of turning the lowest-grade robot into a deadly fighter robot.
"What should we do? We can't be a guild without a robot." He asked.
Isadora and the others had a bittersweet smile on their faces. Can they take Pablo to the area where they bought Free Points? Hell No.
In the whole of Nightshade town, there wasn't a single place that sold fighter robots, only some black market shops selling knockoff robots. And most of them were not functioning at once.
Hence, they began to have a headache about how to get a good robot.
After thinking for a couple of moments, none of them could come up with a solution where to get a robot. Subsequently, Pablo was lost on what to do. 'Should I go back to the city and get a robot.?'
'No. No. Getting a registered fighter robot is not as easy as I think. We can only use the unregistered ounces. Besides, only the unregister once can I tweak to my heart's content.'
Bang! Bang!
Suddenly, a heavy bang came from outside, forcing Pablo and the others from their train of thought.
"What is that?" Pablo asked as he stood up and went to the window.
Behind him were the others and looking outside the windows were a group of men dressed in black.
'Oh, no!" Cedric exclaimed in panic.
He took a couple of steps back from the window with fear written on his face. Seeing this, they were shocked and looked at him waiting for him to tell them what was going on.
"T-they…they are the Vulture Gang," Cedric said with a trembling voice.
Hearing the Vulture gang, the expressions on Isadora, Fabian, and Kaida's faces changed. There was deep panic on their faces. Only Pablo didn't have any changes on his face.
"I don't know who the vulture gang is or what they want but we can't cower here without knowing what they want.' Pablo said slowly.
"You're right. We should hear them out." Isadora said, taking a deep breath.
Outside, the vulture gang looked at the five people standing in front of them with disdain and hostility. Out of the gang, a young man came out slowly.
"You dare take the championship from us…. You can forget about having a peaceful life in this town" Wade said with an evil smile.
Hearing this, Isadora, Cedric, Fabian, and Kaida's legs turned to jelly, fear gripped their hearts. In the presence of the vulture gang, they knew there was no hope for them to survive.
"What do you want?" Pablo asked.
He was not intimidated by the fierceness of the vulture gang. He had seen enough of such behavior and was immune to it.
"To take back what is ours?" Ward said, looking at Pablo with a grin.
"And that is…?"
"The champion." He folded his arm on his chest and continued confidently. "No one can be the champion except for us. Thus, you must give it back to us."
"How should we do that?" Pablo asked. He already knew where this was heading and was only waiting for him to say it.
"To a duel. We challenge you to a duel in a week."
