Chapter One: The Gate of Destiny

Under the cloak of night, the campus was quiet and mysterious. Moonlight filtered through the leaves, casting dappled shadows on the ground. Benson Walker and his friends gathered together, discussing a mysterious legend that circulated around the school. It was said that in the forest near the campus, there was an ancient ruin, and within those ruins lay the Gate of Destiny, a portal to an unknown world.

"Have you heard about that ancient ruin?" Michael's voice was filled with curiosity and excitement, his blue eyes gleaming in the moonlight.

Benson furrowed his brow, his expression a mix of doubt and anticipation. "I've heard some rumors, but no one knows the exact location. Are you sure it's not just a legend?"

Jessie smiled and shook her head, her brown hair gently swaying in the breeze. "Whether it's true or not, I think we should check it out. Maybe we'll find some clues or uncover some hidden secrets."

Suddenly, a loud rumbling noise nearby caught their attention. They turned to see a group of armored soldiers rapidly approaching. A surge of panic welled up in Benson's heart. He didn't know if this world was as perilous as their own, but he knew they had to leave immediately. Perhaps the Gate of Destiny was indeed a passage to the unknown, but now it seemed it could also lead to unforeseeable dangers.

"We need to go," Benson whispered urgently, grabbing Jessie's hand and retreating. Michael and Olivia followed closely, and the four of them quickly hid in a nearby thicket, holding their breath as they watched the soldiers' movements.

The soldiers' footsteps grew louder, and Benson's heartbeat quickened. He knew staying here wasn't a wise choice. Despite the tension and unease in his heart, he felt a stronger sense of resolve. He had to protect his friends, no matter the cost.

Just as the soldiers were about to discover them, a massive rift suddenly appeared before them, glowing like a portal of light.

"Quick, get in!" Benson shouted, pulling Jessie as they rushed into the light. Michael and Olivia followed, and a powerful force pulled them into the portal, followed by a wave of dizziness.

When they opened their eyes again, they found themselves in a new place—a world full of magic and wonder. They were in an even denser forest, with a more intense floral scent in the air and even more melodious birdsong in the distance.

"This is unbelievable," Jessie exclaimed again, her eyes sparkling with excitement.

Benson stepped forward, curiosity in his eyes. "Elysian, why were we being chased by soldiers? What is this place?"

Elysian nodded solemnly. "Ellaria is a place of beauty, but it is also filled with danger. The soldiers you encountered serve a dark force that seeks to control this world. You were brought here for a reason, each of you possesses the potential to change the fate of this world."
