The true king of Avalon
"Ridiculous"

"aghhhhh",was the last sound the Dragon King made as he was slained by the Commander of the rebels, the man who was to be the first emperor of Avalon, one of the diverse continent of the world.
30 years later.
"And this to your left is the Supreme Emperor, the unifier of Avalon, the one who had slain the last Dragon King , Emperor William Maverick. Legends say that he was the first to build and use the dragon slaying swords. He made his own sword, 'The Crucifier' , by the help of which he stabbed the Dragon King's heart. But the Emperor didn't survive for long. It is said that the battle took a great toll on him. He died five years after becoming the Emperor", said the guide pointing to the huge golden statue at the middle of the royal city's biggest park which was build in the memory of the first Emperor of Avalon.

The children started screaming with excitement and vigour seeing the golden statue of the man who slayed the last Dragon King.
I looked at the statue with my eyes wide open. I always loved hearing heroic stories about the first Emperor. I also screamed,"One day I will also become a Dragon Slayer and make my own sword like Emperor William Maverick and go hunt dragons" to which my peers started laughing and mocking me. Our teacher came forward and said to me," It's good that you have such a great dream, Eldridge but all the dragons were wiped out in the last battle for freedom 30 years ago."
I felt disheartened to which our teacher announced," Let's go get sweets."The children started running on hearing sweets
So as you have figured my name is Eldridge, a 8 year old boy. I am the son of a low Noble family which neither have power nor prestige. Today we are on an excursion from our school to the Royal City.
It was getting dark by the time I reached home. My mom was waiting for me at our small mansion's gate. As soon as she saw me, she hugged me tightly. We got inside our home where I was welcomed by my father.After discussing about my trip over meal, I went to bed and got asleep rather fast as I was tired.
The Royal Palace.
"Sir Alfred. Sir. Sir."
"What is it, Sir Louis. For you to be roaming around the royal palace around this time of the night. I presumed that you ....."
"Now is not the time for that. I have got some urgent news for the emperor."
"You can tell me. I will pass it on to his Majesty since he is currently sleeping."
"I must definitely meet the king. It's about those dragons. Their magical energy was spotted earlier in the royal city today. I need ....."
"Dragons, you say"
They were shocked on hearing the voice. Suddenly they greeted on seeing the mysterious voice owner. It was the second prince, Rolland Maverick. He again inquired about the dragons.
" My Lord", said Louis "Today one of my deputy as he was checking for the remaining dragons under the Emperor's order, found a strong signal. It was right under our nose, here in the Royal City. But as soon as we tried to get a hold of it, the connection was severed."
"Interesting" said the prince.
"I must get this information to the Emperor as soon as ...."
"Worry not. I will personally tell him about it. You may go. Farewell", the prince said with a grin on his face."
As soon they left, prince Rolland said to himself," Perfect. If I get that power for myself, I could definitely usurp the throne. Neither my brother, the crown prince , Edward nor the current Emperor stop me." He laughs
Alfred, the first prince's trusted aid knew something was wrong. Therefore he didn't suddenly leave.On hearing Rolland's plan, he decided to inform the first prince.
The next day, at the second prince's mansion.
"Listen up soldiers. I need you to find the boy no matter what. GO FIND HIM."
