He cursed inwardly when he heard the thunder outside. The little light was peaking through the barely opened door as it went off, followed by the bang of the door shutting closed. "For God's sake, please tell me you didn't lock it.." Rain jumped up hearing the male voice and, without anything to hold onto, lost her footing falling on her ass. "Ouch!" Her soft voice made Ace realise that it was a girl. He had hoped that it was not one of those attention-seeking girls he normally saw outside. He hated such girls. No, scratch that, he hated every girl. To have feelings for someone, spending all their time and money on them, making her the center of the world, he chuckled and even pitied the thought. He thought that was impossible for him or rather it was something he would never want. ******************************************* Why to read the book? *Relation advices *Tips for girls on how to get a guy *Unique love story *Steamy scenes Note : the image in the cover doesn't belong to me. I want to disappear

"You shouldn't stay here all night," Emma said for the third time after the Ghosthunters were gone.

The sky was filled with stars. Clear and bright. It wasn't exactly quite with the occasional chirping of the crickets or the howling of the dogs.

While Rain and Emma gazed in the sky, the other guy shivered, being in the cemetery at this time was now dawning on him.

"I guess, she is right, we should go," he said, rubbing his hands and looking around. He had been jumping up at any little noise.

"It's not the ghost who scares me, but humans," Rain mumbled, still looking above.

After a while, She got up and dusted off her dress. She didn't realize when she had stopped feeling cold even when she was bare from knee down.

"I will drop you," Emma said as all three of them left the cemetery.

Around 2 am, Rain was in front of the building.

She could have never told them, why she didn't want to go back. Before taking a step forward, she had forgotten that she had to face him anyway.

Stupid her

*Why was it that, Moving forward means hope and taking a step back, failure.*

Why can't take a step back, means you are not ready for it right now, but maybe in the future you will be.

She took a deep breath and knocked on the door. She had a key, but apparently, it was locked from inside. She planned to sneak in and sleep, trying not to think about what had happened, but that seemed to be out of the question now.

The door slowly opened and standing on the other side was Reid.

She wasn't able to recognize him.

He always has a smile on his face, maybe that's why. But today...

Today those lips formed a thin line. The relaxed eyebrows were sticking together, along with his arms being crossed.

He was not just pissed, but disappointed.

She couldn't understand why.

"Are you planning to come inside or just taking a detour before another adventure?"

He had never planned to scold her, but he was angry. After she ran away, he didn't see her at home. To take his mind off, he had gone out himself, hoping that when he would be back, she would be there. But she wasn't.

Calling her would only have shown that he was obsessing over her. She had a habit of being out late at night. Hell, she was in his room once around midnight. It shouldn't have come as news to him.

She wasn't a house cat. No, she was nowhere near being a submissive girl.

She was a combination of chaos and mischief.

He had waited, till 11, 12, even 1 am. And then had called her. And it went out of coverage. That had done it. She was somewhere with no network. He couldn't reach her, couldn't protect her. That had made him nauseated as he paced in front of the door till it knocked. He had not even realized that he was barely breathing till he saw her.

He wanted to pull her in his arms, see if she was okay. But he knew he couldn't.

"I- I will come in," Rain whispered, not knowing what else to say.

How could he not know why she was hiding all day. Did he not realize what she was trying to do in the morning? Was it like all other girls, she was too invisible for him?

She had to leave early, come late, and hide in her room now. That's the only way she could avoid him.

As soon she was in the house, she hurried towards her room, locking it from inside. She planted her ear to the door, hoping that he would come, but he didn't.

"Are you a psychic?" Sebastian stepped in soon after her.

"How did you know, I was going to come in?" He landed on the couch in the hall and took off his shoes.

"I wouldn't have made any noise, anyway" He got up and pushed the door. Rain had already opened the door and laid back on the bed, covering herself with a blanket.

Realizing she was asleep, Sebastian tiptoed inside and changed in his sleepwear.

************

Rain had set up the alarm to get up early. She didn't mind reaching the class ahead. She had been doing it since the first day. It would also make sure that she and Reid won't travel together.

She wasn't even sure if Sebastian goes to the same school as her. She had no time to notice, as she always kept her head down. And she was sure that guys like him wouldn't notice her either.

She just didn't know that someone will.

She was lucky enough that there weren't many people when she boarded the bus, so she was able to get the window seat. Although it took equal time to walk and to take the bus, as the bus took a long route, she was feeling too tired to walk. And now that she had been accompanied once by Reid, it was even more difficult to walk alone.

"Get up"

A guy with a deep voice was standing close to her seat.

"I said, Get up"

Rain wasn't sure that he was speaking to her. Why would anyone want her to get up from her seat? It wasn't like the bus surged with people.

"I always knew you were a nasty bitch" he said again. She heard a few more chuckles. He wasn't alone. She decided to ignore him and looked outside.

Only a few minutes, only a few minutes and then she would be at her school.

As soon as the brakes were pressed, she picked up her bag and rushed outside. She could still hear the chuckles.

She was glad that it wasn't Math for the first period today, but Religion.

But she could barely remember anything from the previous classes. She hadn't paid much attention to this class either. It was all like a blur in her memory, even though it was an advanced class for which she had opted.

The last three months were all hazy for her and a couple of weeks in the new academic year.

She wished that from today, it would be all better. At least her classes, when her gaze landed on the board outside the class.

There was a test, a surprise test today.

She bit her nails.

She had no notes, nothing for the test.

Her gaze was frozen, so were her legs. Someone pushed her to the side and went inside. That brought her back to earth.

She strode inside and looked around.

*Yes the first benchers, the girl might have the notes*

She rushed to the front, unaware of the leg that was in her path, making her lose her balance as she fell on her face.

*Thumb*

It happened so fast. She couldn't even remember exactly what it was she was doing. It was as if her entire center of gravity was gone in the flash of an eye, and all she felt next was the solid concrete ground crashing against her teeth. Broken pieces of what used to be her teeth were swimming around in a pool of blood inside her mouth. *Ptuh! Ptuh!* She spits and spits until she saw them flying out of her mouth into her hand and onto the surrounding floor.

Her teeth

Until now she hadn't even seen the broken pieces of glasses yet, which had slid to the other side of the class.

"Are you O-" someone had asked her but stopped in mid-sentence

"No one will help her" the same voice she had heard in the morning.

He was here.

And following his order, no one did. She didn't know for how long she was lying on the floor when the Professor walked in and saw her.

Rushing to her side, the lady helped her get up.

Her jeans were torn at the knees, she knew she couldn't sit in the class like this. Or attend any classes for the day, with her broken teeth.

She knew she had to be somewhere, but where.

"Are you okay?"

She looked around. The lady brought her to the washroom and was helping her with her wound.

"I- I am okay" she barely managed to say. She didn't want to be touched right now. She just wanted to be home.

"You know boys are like that" the lady was still trying to help her.

"Sometimes they are mean to you when they like you"

She couldn't believe the words.

Even knowing the reason, wasn't making her feel good. What kind of logic was that. He had insulted her, called her a bitch, and then made sure that she was going to fail the test.

It made no sense.

Maybe the lady thought that telling her the reason would make her feel happy.

But right now, she only wanted to disappear.
