On The Way Out

"Naturally, I will assign a new leader for the meantime" The Dark Mutant king nodded his head in response. He called out his high-ranking subordinates and mentioned his plan to depart.

Obviously, his subordinates were saddened but when the king mentioned he would be choosing the new leader within the group, they were greatly enthusiastic.

Argen thought that since the cave was not a perfect location to have his peaceful sleep, he decided to leave after he notified the king.

Everywhere he went, he felt numerous piercing stares directed at him. He felt really uncomfortable and continued walking.

After a long time of pointlessly walking around, his feet unknowingly brought him back to the tree that had pulled him towards the forest.

In front of the tree was the massive wall where on the other side lay the Geriko mansion.

Argen stares at the tree for a long time before he decided to strike up a conversation.

"Hey! Uh, thanks for back then" He awkwardly gave a smile at the tree.

The tree remained silent for a brief moment before speaking. "Sure"

Meanwhile, the other Dark Mutants in the vicinity were dumbstruck and confused. They burst out into hushed telepathy whispers, trying to find some information regarding about the situation.

It wasn't long before they discovered that it was this very companion of theirs that brought Argen inside the Underworld's Mother Nature.

"That guy must've rashly pulled the human-like individual in here after how many years of not seeing a human."

"Yeah, he must've thought that boy was an easy meal before he discovered the peculiar aura and hesitated"

"Well, good thing he did that. Even Your Highness did not dare to harm that child"

It was what the other Dark Mutants thought. That was indeed the case. He had also sacrificed the hand the pulled Argen in just to achieve his former thoughts.

Currently, the tree in front of Argen was relieved that he did not attack Argen immediately as soon as he pulled him down. He could've wretched the cloth that was veiling Argen's sight, trap him with his spell and finally devouring him. But because he had sensed that aura, he halted and did not dare to attack.

Argen smiled again and politely made his way out to continue his search for the perfect location to have a rest.

----

"Finally, a decent spot!" Argen happily slammed his body onto the pile of leaves that was cushioning his fall. He had asked the trees nearby to borrow some of their 'body parts' to pile them up and make a bed.

The location which he had chosen, wasn't like the past one where it was freezing cold. He chose a spot where the wind was forcefully obstructed by the trees.

Argen made that request since the cold inside the forest was really unbearable for a person like him. He had first asked the Dark Mutants to give him some of their branches to make a fire, but they rapidly declined. Therefore, Argen decided to just ask them to obstruct the cold wind heading in his path while he sleeps.

Of course, they tactfully obeyed since the king had already passed on orders to comply to any of Argen's wishes as long as it was plausible and not outrageous.

----

The next morning, Argen was viciously awoken up from his sleep by the Dark Mutant King.

"Kiddo! Let's go!" It was obvious that he was excited to the core. It would be his first time leaving this forest ever since he was born.

"Nnn... Five more---"

"YOU'RE AWAKE? LET'S GO!" Without even waiting for Argen to continue his protest, the king immediately pulled him up and dashed away with the sad Argen in tow.

10 hours had passed and Argen was lamenting during his bumpy ride on another Dark Mutant's back.

Not once did the Dark Mutant King refused to take a break, he even kept on incessantly chattering and asking about how great the other side of the wall would be.

He also kept on bragging that not long after, he would eventually conquer the land, which irritated Argen much.

"Would you just shu---"

However, Argen's words were drowned by another wave of ramblings. He couldn't even shut the guy up and even the Dark Mutant that was carrying Argen was starting to question its life.

Argen couldn't escape the tribulation by covering his ears nor cultivating. He was bored and annoyed to the extreme that he felt like coughing blood.

Finally, the Dark Mutant King's mouth stopped chattering when they lurched into a halt. Argen was woken up from his grieving daze and went to look at what was in front.

It was the massive wall.

Argen activated his Divine Scrutiny---that was reverted back to normal, and he was elated to see that on the other side of the wall was a bustling area filled with all sorts of people and buildings.

The Dark Mutant slowly put Argen down from his wide back onto the ground. The king then instructed it to return before he waved his hand and suddenly a middle-aged male human body was hanging by the neck on his hands.

Argen's body went cold and stiff when he saw the Dark Mutant King opening the corpse's mouth wide and putting his foot inside and wore the body like he was wearing a jumpsuit.

The corpse lifeless eyes were suddenly filled with vigor and energy. He turned his head to look at Argen.

"Now I need your help to cross over the other side of the wall"

Argen was suddenly confused "In the first place, why couldn't you do it yourself?" He asked when he remembered just how 'easy' it was for him to cross the wall.

The Dark Mutant King, in the form of a middle-aged man, shook his head negatively.

"Why do you think my race couldn't haunt for anymore humans despite us having the power to take them away from their fortified homes? It's not like we're weak to not even destroy a piece of the wall after so many years."

"So you mean..."

"There is a powerful 2 star demon-warding formation that was casted onto the wall by a grandmaster. Every time, even if a single leaf of ours is blown away by the wind to the other side, the formation strikes in and disintegrates the leaf after 2 seconds it makes contact with its attack range regardless even if you take the leaf back to the forest immediately or not."
