The Lazy Assassin

The world changed and humanity restarted civilisation. Monsters mutated from animals and roamed the world slowing the growth of mankind. Hunters and Adventurers were made official to help chart the world again. As they kill monsters, there are those who kill humans. Assassins were born when helpless citizens wanted revenge from the injustice they had received. Many Assassins rush out on jobs to quickly earn money as some people pay high prices for their requests. Ace, on the other hand, is an Assassin who hates to work. Although many thought he was weird, they eventually found out that he loved to go on vacations and spend his time sleeping or lazing under the sun. He was then nicknamed the (Lazy Ass)assin. Here, his story begins.

First Target: Mistral City Treasurer Part 2

Night came with the clouds drifting over the city and flame torches riddled the streets and city guards patrolled around. Houses started turning off their light lamps except a few doing late night work.

Silence came over the city except the sounds of the guards clinking armour and the sounds of people in the entertainment district.

*Rustle rustle* as winds blew over the trees in the city. A shadow floated across the trees like a cloud.

'Lucky it's a windy night, hmm seems like its gonna rain later, gotta pick up the pace. Seems like my luck has been quite bad lately' as he thought through the events that occurred for the past few days.

Before he reached mistral city, a branch suddenly gave way to his weight, making him tumble down the tree. Nearby predators rushed over only to find nothing, while he hid in a nearby bush until they left.

Due to sunlight rising he got careless while sneaking in and stepped on a twig that fell off his clothes. Luckily the guards just thought that it was tree leaves flying into the city which happens everyday.

Now, there are clouds gathering over the city which makes it harder for him to leave his signature which was a graveyard with his logo drawn over.

'Guess I gotta draw it on his forehead then' as he closed in on the address given by the employer.

It was a villa with a garden around it, making it hard to sneak in because of the open area and the patrolling guards. A huge gate stood in the front while fences were erected around the garden. A tall tree with a swing hanging under a branch stood at the side of the villa.

'Luckily I brought my crossbow, this would be a pain if I had to get close to the target' Ace thought to himself. 'Wind speed seems bearable, distance abit further than expected, guess I'll have to pull the string further in'.

He looked at the sky and saw that it was the perfect time to execute his plan. He glided towards the tree and climbed to the top to get a good angle to look for his target.

'What was this guy supposed to be again? Let's see the documents.' He looked at the document to see the details again.

Target: Treasurer of Mistral City

I request this man to be killed as he has used the money for personal use.

This has happened for a long time and I cannot take it anymore. The people of this city donated this money to make the city a better place to live in. He lives in district seven, building number three.

I hope you end this bastard as soon as possible. He likes to stay late at night to count his money. He would be in the safe room which has the brightest light. He has short and spiky brown hair, always wearing blue clothes. I shall reward you when the deed is done.

*BOOOM!*

Lightning sounded in the sky far away. 'Alright time to work, just got to wait for the light then', Ace thought as he crouched down crossbow ready to fire. Time passed by and the thunder sounds came closer to the city, but no light could be seen.

Restless, Ace decided to investigate the villa thinking that something was wrong. After the last round of guards walked past, he jumped over the fence and sprinted through the garden to the other side of the building.

Pulling out knives from beneath his coat, used them to climb to the top floor and through the window, which was surprisingly the toilet. Slowly, he moved around the top floor looking in every room. 'Maybe he is not home? What a waste of time', he thought to himself as he went down the stairs.

"MMMMMMmmmmmMMMMM!" Muffled screams came from the middle floor.

'What the.....', his thoughts went blank for a moment as he saw a group of robbers rummaging the rooms one by one, the Treasurer was bound to a chair being watched over by one of them.

"Yes! We are gonna be rich by tomorrow boys, no one is able to stop us now!" yelled one of them, who seemed to be the leader as he was the biggest among them, and also because the others answered him with fear and awe in their eyes.

"You sure about that?"
